Fast translate Icon translate Fast translate Icon translate ABSTRAK Mikroorganisme dalam tubuh dapat menyebabkan suatu infeksi. Penyakit infeksi dapat ditangani dengan pemberian antibiotik, namun penggunaan antibiotik yang irrasional dapat menyebabkan masalah resistensi antibiotik. Bakteri Klebsiella pneumoniae merupakan salah satu bakteri yang sudah banyak mengalami resistensi antibiotik dan menjadi penyebab utama pada kasus pneumonia di beberapa negara di dunia. Kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder (flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin dan saponin) yang dilaporkan pada daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) dipercaya memiliki aktivitas anti bakteri. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukan bahwa ekstrak daun alpukat dapat menghambat pertumbuhan pada bakteri gram positif dan gram negatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 13883 secara invitro. Metode yang digunakan adalah ekstraksi daun alpukat muda dan tua dengan pelarut etanol 96% yang terbagi dalam lima konsentrasi (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%). Pengujian antibakteri dilakukan secara difusi agar (Kirby Bauer) menggunakan teknik disc diffusion. Serta dilakukannya uji fitokimia metabolit sekunder secara kualitatif. Hasil menunjukan bahwa tidak ditemukan adanya clear zone disekitar cakram yang mengandung ekstrak pada semua konsentrasi. Simpulan Pada penelitian ini ekstrak daun alpukat dari kintamani tidak ditemukan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Klebsiella pneumoniae. Abstract

Diabetic neuropathy (ND) is the very common complication caused by type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), DM is an epidemic in the elderly group. Elderly can be defined as someone that has come to the age of > 60 years and is said to have entered the final stage of the life phase. The aging process experienced by the elderly is cued by the phase of reduction in many functions of the body's organs called degenerative. This special conditions experienced by the elderly are accompanied by several diseases or complications so that they get relatively many types of drugs called polypharmacy, this causes a clinician to consider giving treatment to the elderly in order to minimize the side effects or toxic effects of a drug. This research aims to specify the characteristics and rationality of treatment for diabetic neuropathy in the elderly. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross sectional design. In this study using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 110 samples taken at the neurology polyclinic of the private hospital x in Denpasar. All samples were processed using SPSS 22.0 and Microsoft Excel and obtained 7 types of drugs and the most drug use are 55 (50%) of gabapentin with vitamin B complex as adjuvant therapy as many as 102 (92.7%) and 106 (96.3%) ) sample received more than 1 drug. In this study, the treatment given is a rational drug choice to treat ND in the elderly.

Abstract

Black garlic is garlic that goes through a heating process and has a higher bioactivity of substances. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of black garlic extract on the reduction of uric acid in male mice with hperuricemia induced by 25 ml / kg of chicken liver juice and 250 mg / kg of potassium oxonate. The mice used were male mice with uric acid levels above 3.3 mg / dL or 6.3-6.8 mg / dL. This research is an experimental study with the method of Pre Test - Post Test Control Group Design. The treatment group was K +: Giving allopurinol suspension 10 mg / kg BW, K-: Giving aquabides to the negative control group of mice, P1: Giving black garlic ethanol extract 4.2 mg / 20gr bb, P2: Giving black garlic ethanol extract 8.4 mg / 20gr bb, P3: Provision of black garlic ethanol extract 12.4 mg / 20gr bb. Measurement of uric acid levels was carried out at D-10 after induction of a high uric acid diet, as well as D-26 after treatment of each group. Data were analyzed by One Way Anova test and post hoc LSD test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of black garlic was able to reduce uric acid levels in the blood of mice with the highest percentage reduction in the P3 group (12.4 mg / 20gr bb) by 31,2%, followed by P2 (8.4 mg / 20gr. bb) of 18,03%. The lowest percentage reduction in uric acid levels was in the P1 group (4.2 mg / 20gr bb) by 10,2%. Black garlic ethanol extract has an effect on reducing total uric acid levels in mice due to its antioxidant content such as flavonoids, polyphenols, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), leucine, and isoleucine. Abstract

Inflammation is the human body’s defense to prevent tissue damage due to different kinds of factors. The purple eggplant peel (Solanum melongena L.) may have the potential to have anti-inflammatory properties due to containing nasunin, which is a phenolic, flavonoid anthocyanin substance by inhibiting cyclooxygenase pathway. This research was done to prove the anti-inflammatory effect of purple eggplant peel extract in rats. The research method was conducted by true experimental post-test only control-group design. 25 rats were divided into 5 groups with different treatments which are: positive control, negative control, purple eggplant peel extract with a dose of 0,3 mg/gBW, 6 mg/gBW and 0,9 mg/gBW. The data measured was the decrease of edema volume induced by carrageenan at hours-0 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Data analysis was performed at the 4th hour using ANOVA and post-hoc LSD tests. The results of the study found that there were significant differences between the negative control group and the positive control group and the entire treatment group. The conclusion of this study was that purple eggplant peel extract had anti-inflammatory activity with the best effectiveness at a dose of 0,9 mg/gBW.

Abstract

Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK) adalah penyakit kardiovaskuler akibat penyempitan pembuluh darah koroner yang menyebabkan iskemia miokard, sehingga mengakibatkan apoptosis sel. Kunyit mengandung senyawa yang berperan sebagai anti inflamasi, seperti kurkumin.  Tujuan: Menentukan pengaruh kandungan kurkumin pada kunyit (Curcuma longa) terhadap kadar Ischemia Modified Albumin (IMA). Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah rancangan post-test only control group dengan menggunakan tikus wistar jantan sebanyak 30 ekor yang terbagi ke dalam 5 kelompok yaitu, kelompok 1 kontrol negatif, kelompok 2 kontrol positif, kelompok perlakuan 1, 2, dan 3. Kelompok perlakuan masing-masing mendapatkan ekstrak kunyit dengan variasi dosis 50, 100, dan 200 mg/kgBB. Pemeriksaan kadar IMA dalam serum darah menggunakan teknik ELISA. Data dianalisis dengan uji One-Way Anova. Hasil: Kadar IMA pada masing masing kelompok adalah kelompok 1 kontrol negative = 300,471 ng/mL, kelompok 2 kontrol positif = 333,357 ng/mL, kelompok perlakukan 1 dosis 50mg/kg = 232,317 ng/mL, kelompok perlakukan 2 dosis 100 mg/kgBB = 173,385 ng/mL, dan kelompok perlakuan 3 dosis 200 mg/kgBB =  217,358 ng/mL. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna kadar IMA antara semua kelompok penelitian, yakni kelompok kontrol positif, kontrol negatif, maupun kelompok perlakuan (p>0,05). Berdasarkan Independent  t-test menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna kadar IMA antara kelompok perlakuan ekstrak kunyit 100 mg/kgBB, 200 mg/kgBB dengan kelompok kontrol positif. Simpulan: Ekstrak kunyit berpengaruh terhadap kadar IMA.Kata kunci: IMA, kunyit, kurkumin

Abstract

Cikal Tulang (Cissus quadrangularis) contains ketosteroids that can be used as a traditional obesity treatment. Objective: To evaluated the potential of Cikal Tulang (Cissus quadrangularis) extract in preventing obesity (loss of body weight and abdominal fat) in Galur Swiss mice. Methods: A quasi-experimental post-test only design was conducted from July to August 2021, involving 30 male Swiss albino mice aged 1.5 months with body weights of 18–30 grams. The mice were divided into five groups: negative control (high-fat diet and fructose solution), positive control (orlistat 15.6 mg/kgBW), and three treatment groups receiving Cissus quadrangularis extract at doses of 30, 90, and 180 mg/kgBW for 14 days. The extract was administered orally via a gastric sonde. Body weight and Lee index were obesity parameters, and abdominal adipose tissue was analyzed morphometrically using hematoxylin-eosin staining. Data were analyzed with One-Way ANOVA at a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: One-Way ANOVA test showed significant differences in Lee index among groups before treatment (p = 0.0097), with values >300 indicating obesity. Post-treatment, Lee index decreased across groups but without statistically significant differences (p = 0.878), with values remaining >300. Conclusion: There was no significant association between administering cikal tulang (Cissus quadrangularis) extract and its anti-obesity effect.
