Abstract

Teacher agency plays a significant role in successful teaching. Upon the implementation of student enrollment zoning policy throughout the country (since 2018), demographic changes started to occur. Favorite schools in the city of Yogyakarta inevitably had to admit students with less academic skills, making teaching activities more complex and difficult among teachers. This study attempts to reveal how English teachers dealt with such dynamic changes. This study employed qualitative method. Twelve English teachers from favorite and non-favorite senior high schools in Yogyakarta, Bantul and Sleman were involved in this study. They were purposively selected for semi-structured interviews and two of them were invited to have in-depth interviews. The results showed that those two English teachers were agentic. The zoning policy was largely seen to have created unnecessary challenges among English teachers. During the pre-zoning policy, students were homogeneous in terms of background knowledge and academic skills. Such a homogeneity ended after the policy was implemented. However, interview data gathered in this study strongly suggest that teachers were able to navigate themselves, mostly due to warm, academic culture of their school. The warm school culture has successfully bridged the diversity of students’ abilities in the class.

Abstract

Balanced nutrition is a daily food composition that contains nutrients in types and quantities that suit body's needs, taking into account the principles of food diversity or variety, physical activity, cleanliness and ideal body weight (BB). Aim of this counseling was to increase knowledge and understanding of balanced nutrition among students at Sahid Vocational School, Surakarta. Methods used were lectures and discussions. Media used in this counseling were leaflets and flashcards. Participants in this community service activity were students of SMK Sahid Surakarta class XI TBO 2. Implementation of this counseling received a good response from students with an attendance percentage of 86,7%. Results of community service activity effectiveness could be seen from N-gain value = 0,56 in medium category. Keywords: counseling, balanced nutrition, student, leaflet, flashcard

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kecamatan Gondangrejo menjadi prioritas utama dalam prioritas desa dengan Lokus penurunan stunting pada tahun 2021 dengan prevalensi 23,59 % atau 67 balita di desa Plesungan mengalami stunting. Penggunaan aplikasi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman para kader mengenai stunting. Aplikasi 'Gosting' dirancang dengan tampilan yang sederhana, dengan menu utama yang menyediakan informasi tentang stunting serta fitur kalkulator status gizi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah mengoptimalkan kemampuan kader posyandu dalam melakukan deteksi dini stunting dengan menggunakan aplikasi Gosting, melalui peningkatan pengetahuan kader di Desa Plesungan, Kecamatan Gondangrejo, Kabupaten Karanganyar. Sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah para kader kesehatan posyandu di Desa Plesungan. Pelatihan diberikan kepada 14 orang kader posyandu. Keberhasilan kegiatan dievaluasi melalui perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest. Analisis perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dan setelah penerapan aplikasi Gosting dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji paired t-test. Hasil analisis mengindikasikan peningkatan pengetahuan kader mengenai stunting yang signifikan secara statistik setelah penggunaan aplikasi Gosting, dengan nilai p < 0,001. Rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan yang diperoleh responden sebelum pelaksanaan intervensi (pre-test) sebesar 7,3 meningkat menjadi 9,3 pada post-test, dari total skor maksimum sebesar 10 poin. Implementasi aplikasi Gosting sebagai upaya mengoptimalkan peran kader posyandu dalam deteksi dini stunting memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan kader di Desa Plesungan, Kecamatan Gondangrejo, Kabupaten Karanganyar. Kata Kunci: Peran Kader, Stunting, Aplikasi  ABSTRACT Gondangrejo District is a top priority village priority with a stunting reduction locus in 2021, with a prevalence of 23.59% or 67 toddlers in Plesungan Village experiencing stunting. The use of the application has proven effective in increasing the cadres' understanding of stunting. The 'Gosting' application is designed with a simple interface, with a main menu that provides information about stunting and a nutritional status calculator feature. The aim of this community service activity is to optimize the ability of Posyandu cadres in conducting early detection of stunting using the Gosting application, by increasing the knowledge of cadres in Plesungan Village, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency. The target of this community service activity is the integrated health post (posyandu) health cadres in Plesungan Village. Training was provided to 14 Posyandu cadres. The success of the activity was evaluated by comparing pre-test and post-test results Analysis of differences in knowledge levels before and after implementing the Gosting application was carried out using a paired t-test. The analysis showed a statistically significant increase in cadres' knowledge regarding stunting after using the Gosting application, with a p-value of <0.001. Average level of knowledge obtained by respondents before implementing the intervention (pre-test) of 7.3 increased to 9.3 in the post-test, out of a maximum total score of 10 points. The implementation of the Gosting application as an effort to optimize the role of Posyandu cadres in early detection of stunting has made a significant contribution to increasing the level of knowledge of cadres in Plesungan Village, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency. Keywords: Role of Cadres, Stunting, Application

Abstract

Pola makan mahasiswa yang cukup berdasarkan Healthy Eating Plate sebesar 2,1%, dan kurang sebesar 97,9%. Imej tubuh yang negatif merupakan salah satu faktor risiko utama bagi seseorang untuk melakukan diet penurunan berat badan. Tujuan dari penyuluhan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang imej tubuh dan kepuasan tubuh yang positif agar dapat mencapai pola makan yang seimbang dan status gizi yang optimal. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan diskusi. Peserta dalam penyuluhan ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Administrasi Kesehatan Program Sarjana Angkatan 2022 Universitas Kusuma Husada Surakarta. Penyuluhan ini dihadiri oleh 28 orang dari total jumlah mahasiswa sebanyak 34 orang (82%) melalui aplikasi Zoom karena mahasiswa sedang liburan semester. Hasil dan evaluasi dalam penyuluhan ini dapat dilihat dari nilai pre-test dan post-test yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan (dari 44 menjadi 75) dengan N-gain = 0,78 (kategori tinggi). Perlu adanya kegiatan secara berkesinambungan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa terkait imej tubuh dan kepuasan tubuh yang positif agar dapat mencapai pola makan yang seimbang dan status gizi yang optimal. Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is characterized by uncontrolled blood sugar levels and is diagnosed using fasting blood glucose (FBG) measurements. Risk factors for T2DM include central obesity, measured by the waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), and poor sleep quality. This study aimed to determine the relationship between WHR and sleep quality with FBG levels in T2DM patients, by employing an observational study with a cross-sectional design A total of 51 respondents aged 45–75 years were selected using purposive sampling. Waist and hip circumference were measured with a metline; sleep quality was assessed using a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire, and FBG levels were obtained from secondary data in the form of medical records at the Karangmalang Community Health Center. Spearman was used for the bivariate test, while the multiple linear regression was used for the multivariate test. The test results showed a significant relationship between WHR and FBG levels (p=0.001, r=0.460), and between sleep quality with FBG levels (p<0.001, r=0.553). Multivariate results obtained p=0.026 for sleep quality and p=0.093 for WHR, suggesting sleep quality is more strongly associated with FBG levels. Sleep quality was the dominant factor associated with FBG levels in T2DM patients. The results of this study can be used as a guideline for individuals with T2DM to maintain normal blood glucose levels and good sleep quality for better blood glucose control.

Abstract

 ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: DM Tipe 2 merupakan gangguan metabolik yang ditandai hiperglikemia akibat penurunan sekresi insulin oleh sel β-pankreas. Upaya pengendaliannya dilakukan melalui pengaturan pola makan. Biskuit berbahan bekatul beras merah, tepung mocaf, dan biji labu kuning yang diperkaya inulin berpotensi sebagai camilan alternatif bagi penderita DM Tipe 2.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik organoleptik serta kandungan gizi biskuit berbasis bekatul beras merah, mocaf, dan biji labu kuning dengan penambahan inulin, meliputi kadar air, abu, protein, lemak, karbohidrat, antioksidan, gula reduksi, serat pangan, pati total, amilosa, amilopektin, pati resisten, indeks glikemik, dan beban glikemik.Metode: Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga ulangan dan empat formulasi perbandingan bekatul beras merah dan mocaf, yaitu F1(30%:70%), F2(40%:60%), F3(50%:50%), dan F4(60%:40%). Uji organoleptik dianalisis menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis dan Mann-Whitney, sedangkan kandungan gizi menggunakan ANOVA dan Duncan.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata pada mutu hedonik (warna, tekstur, rasa pahit) dan kandungan gizi, kecuali gula reduksi. Kadar air 11,48–13,58%, abu 3,30–4,78%, lemak 18,69–21,19%, protein 12,49–15,27%, karbohidrat 47,14–53,92%, antioksidan 16,4–41,89%, gula reduksi 2,76–3,14%, serat pangan total 1,19–3,56%, pati total 35,03–40,42%, amilosa 8,76–9,76%, amilopektin 26,26–30,66%, pati resisten 0,81–2,60%, indeks glikemik 27,46–84,14. Formulasi terbaik adalah F3 (50% bekatul beras merah:50% mocaf) dengan beban glikemik 1,64–9,81 per takaran saji (10–60 g) dengan kategori rendah.Kesimpulan: Biskuit berbahan bekatul beras merah, mocaf, dan biji labu dengan inulin memiliki indeks dan beban glikemik rendah, sehingga berpotensi diaplikasikan sebagai camilan sehat bagi penderita DMT2. KATA KUNCI: bekatul beras merah; biji labu kuning; biskuit; diabetes mellitus tipe 2; tepung mocaf ABSTRACTBackground: Type 2 DM is a metabolic disorder marked by hyperglycemia due to reduced insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells. Biscuits made from red rice bran, mocaf, and pumpkin seeds enriched with inulin are proposed as an alternative snack for individuals with T2DM.Objectives: This study aimed to analyze organoleptic and nutrient content of biscuits formulated with red rice bran, mocaf, and pumpkin seeds enriched with inulin, including moisture, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrates, antioxidants, reducing sugars, dietary fiber, resistant starch, glycemic index, and glycemic load.Methods: Completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications was applied. Four formulations of red rice bran and mocaf were tested: F1(30%:70%), F2(40%:60%), F3(50%:50%), and F4(60%:40%). Organoleptic were assessed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests, while nutrient content was analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan’s test.Results: The study revealed significant differences in hedonic quality tests for color, texture, bitter taste, and nutritional content, except for reducing sugars. Nutrient values ranged as follows: moisture 11.48–13.58%, ash 3.30–4.78%, fat 18.69–21.19%, protein 12.49–15.27%, carbohydrates 47.14–53.92%, antioxidants 16.4–41.89%, reducing sugars 2.76–3.14%, total dietary fiber 1.19–3.56%, starch 35.03–40.42%, amylose 8.76–9.76%, amylopectin 26.26–30.66%, resistant starch 0.81–2.60%, and GI 27.46–84.14.
