Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly is often caused by a degenerative process in the arteries, the blood vessels become stiff so that peripheral resistance increases as a result of increased blood pressure/hypertension causing various problems in the elderly. Full-blooded back is one type of complementary therapy that is useful for blood circulation and provides a relaxing effect, by stimulating the release of endorphins, cortisol, this hormone can provide a calm/relaxing effect and vasodilation occurs in blood vessels resulting in a decrease in blood pressure. blood pressure, headaches, sleep quality, blood glucose and cholesterol levels in the elderly with hypertension. This research method is pre-experimental with one group pre-post test design. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a sample size of 30. The results of the statistical analysis of the Wilcoxon sign rank test, obtained a p-value of 0.001 for blood pressure, headache, sleep quality and cholesterol levels (LDL), while for glucose levels p-value: 0.018 then H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an effect of full-blooded therapy on blood pressure, headaches, sleep quality, blood glucose and cholesterol (LDL) levels in elderly people with hypertension.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most influential risk factors for the incidence of heart disease and blood vessels. Lack of knowledge about the management of hypetension is a contributing factor. The purpose of this study is to determine The Effectiveness of Guided Imagery and Slow Deep Breathing Against the Decline of Blood Pressure on the Patient Hypertension. This research uses Quasi Experimental Design design withdesign non equivalent pretest posttest design and Group Comparasion, with consecutive sampling technique, great samples 30 respondents divided into 2 groups namely Guided Imagery and Slow Deep Breathing. Each group received treatment for 15 minutes once a day for three days, each treatment performed before and after the blood pressure measurement. The results of this study used dependent t test, wilcoxon sign rank test, two samples independent t test, and U Mann Whitney test showed that diatolic systolic blood pressure in each group decreased, in Guided Imagery 4.07 mmHg and 3.4 mmHg (p value sebesar 0,000), Slow Deep Breathing 8 mmHg and 6.8 mmHg (p value sebesar 0,000 , 0.001). It was concluded that Slow Deep Breathing is more effective than Guided Imagery in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. As nurses are expected to apply nonpharmacology like a Guided Imagery and Slow Deep Breathing as a pharmacological companion therapy in blood pressure.

Abstract

Elderly is someone who is in the final stage of adulthood where age starts from 60 years and over. This condition is interpreted as a decrease, weakness, increased risk of various diseases and other physiological changes. Elderly who experience this condition is called frailty syndrome. If not handled properly frailty syndrome can lead to increased death in the elderly. This study used a quantitative design with a cross sectional approach and data collection was carried out using a questionnaire as an instrument. The independent variables in this study were sociodemographic (abandonment and family functioning), physical, nutritional, psychological, functional and cognitive. While the dependent variable is frailty syndrome. The research sample was 95 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The analytical method uses the Spearman Rank test. Factors related to frailty syndrome at the Singosari Health Center were sociodemographic factors (neglect) (p=0.000), physical factors (p=0.000), functional factors (p=0.000), psychological factors (p=0.000), cognitive factors (p=0.000) and nutritional factors (p=0.000), while sociodemographic factors (family functions) (p=0.214) had no relationship with frailty syndrome and the most dominant factor was functional factors. The suggestion put forward is that the health center increases the intensity of physical exercise programs that already exist at the puskesmas and at the elderly Posyandu such as walking together and exercising for the elderly and inviting the elderly to participate actively in order to increase independence.

Abstract

Operating room nurses are at risk of burnout. They face many stressors, such as the workload that must be finished. Using coping strategies that are adaptive to the situation will allow nurses to cope with their stressors. This research aimed to determine the correlation between workload and coping strategies with burnout syndrome in operating room nurses. The method used correlational research with cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was operating room nurses at Karsa Husada Batu Hospital. The number of samples was 26 nurses based on the total sampling technique. The data was collected from the workload questionnaire, ways of coping questionnaire, and Maslach burnout inventory. The data was analyzed using Spearman rank correlation test. The univariate analysis results showed that most of the respondents had a light workload, 16 people (61.5%), the most of respondents used problem-focus coping, 17 people (65.4%), and most respondents experienced low burnout syndrome, 16 people (61.5%). The bivariate analysis showed that workload had a correlation with burnout syndrome (p = 0.000) and coping strategies had a correlation with burnout syndrome (p = 0.032). A light workload and the use of problem-focused coping will reduce work stress experienced by nurses so that the development of burnout does not occur
