Abstract

Kamal Village in Arjasa District, Jember Regency, East Java, has cultural and historical tourism potential through the Duplang Site, Klanceng Site, Ta' Butaan folk art, and Kadisah traditional rituals. This great tourism potential can be developed to promote Kamal Village as a culture-based tourism village. Through a participatory rural appraisal approach involving village-owned businesses, the Tourism Appreciation and Tourism Awareness Group, the Youth Organization of Kamal Village, and collaboration with the Jember Regency Tourism and Culture Office, the community service team assisted in the form of organizational assistance (institutional strengthening), event management training, and strengthening the promotion and branding activities. The results of this community service are expected to strengthen the cultural branding of Kamal Village towards sustainable tourism to realize sustainable and positive economic, social, and environmental impacts for related stakeholders.

Abstract

Abstrak Program pengabdian masyarakat desa binaan di Desa Kamal Jember merupakan pelaksanaan tahun ke-2 yang bertujuan untuk menguatkan kelembagaan serta identitas budaya atau cultural branding Desa Kamal menuju desa wisata sejarah dan budaya berbasis sustainable tourism. Metode yang digunakan adalah participatory rural appraisal melalui survei, FGD, dan pelatihan intensif (pelatihan pembuatan konten promosi, fotografi lanjutan, hospitality, dan sustainable tourism, serta penyusunan paket wisata). Tim pengabdian mendampingi dalam proses penguatan kelembagaan bagi BUMDES, Pokdarwis, dan perangkat desa serta pembuatan video profil wisata. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan kapasitas dan kompetensi bagi pihak-pihak terkait dalam pengelolaan dan pengembangan wisata Desa Kamal. Cultural branding Desa Kamal menjadi semakin kuat dengan adanya video profil desa yang aktif digunakan sebagai media promosi. Pengelola wisata juga telah memiliki pengetahuan yang baik terkait adopsi dan implementasi sustainable tourism untuk menjaga budaya serta kelestarian alam Desa Kamal. Kata kunci: cultural branding; Desa wisata; sejarah; budaya; sustainable tourism  Abstract The second-year community service program in Kamal Village, Jember, is designed to strengthen the organizational management and the village's cultural branding as a historical and cultural tourism destination by implementing sustainable tourism practices. The approach utilized in this initiative includes participatory rural appraisal techniques, such as surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and various intensive training sessions. These sessions cover essential topics, including creating promotional content, advanced photography, hospitality, sustainable tourism, and developing tour packages. The community service team has also focused on fortifying local institutions, specifically BUMDES, Pokdarwis, and village officials while producing tourism profile videos. This program aims to enhance the capacity and proficiency of stakeholders involved in managing and developing tourism in Kamal Village. Consequently, the cultural branding of Kamal Village has become significantly more pronounced. The tourism profile videos serve as active promotional tools for Kamal Village. As a result, individuals responsible for tourism within the village now possess an improved understanding of sustainable tourism practices, thereby contributing to maintaining both the natural and cultural sustainability of Kamal Village. Keywords: cultural branding; tourism  village; history; culture; sustainable tourism

Abstract

In the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, many SMEs experienced a decline in their turnover due to business traffic and many economic activities being locked down, this had an impact on their income level. From the results of visits and interviews conducted with service partners, information was obtained from BERKAH KU freshwater fish farming, this business was founded in 2007 and has been running for 13 years within a period of 13 years. production and the existence of technology, and these things are very threatening to the existence and activities as well as cross-economy first during the COVID 19 pandemic. The minimal types of processed products include, among others, the selection of marketing communication media that are still active, the lack of knowledge of business actors about e-commerce platform. The existence of the Covid 19 pandemic is an unavoidable threat for all business actors not to do business for freshwater fish entrepreneurs because all businesses experienced a decline in turnover of almost 80%. Based on the results of research-based service that has been carried out, it can be said that the programs that have been planned and discussed will help improve marketing through the use of technology and product innovation. The first activity is program socialization in increasing knowledge about technology in marketing products. The second activity is to give demonstrations to partners by cheff in innovating products from raw fish raw materials into processed frozen food products

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing online purchasing decisions among university students, with a particular emphasis on the roles of information quality and ease of use. It further examines trust as a mediating variable in the relationship between these factors and purchasing decisions. The rapid growth of online booking applications has shifted consumer behavior, particularly among younger demographics, making it essential to understand how current behavior may predict future trends. An explanatory research design was employed, targeting university students in East Java who had used online booking applications during the 2023–2024 period. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed using purposive sampling, resulting in 380 valid responses. The analysis was conducted using path analysis with the support of SPSS version 25.The results indicate that both information quality and ease of use significantly influence students' purchasing decisions through the mediating role of trust. These findings highlight the importance of building user trust to enhance the effectiveness of online booking platforms. The implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research are discussed in detail.
