Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Multimodal sebagai sistem rekomendasi di platform e-commerce. Sistem pencarian tradisional, baik berbasis kata kunci maupun semantik, seringkali gagal menangkap niat, konteks, dan aspek visual dari kebutuhan pengguna, yang berdampak negatif pada kualitas pengalaman belanja daring. Meskipun RAG Multimodal menjanjikan interaksi yang lebih holistik, studi empiris mengenai persepsi pengguna terhadap keunggulannya masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem RAG Multimodal fungsional, serta mengevaluasi pengalaman pengguna secara kualitatif dibandingkan dengan metode pencarian tradisional. Sebuah aplikasi web e-commerce dikembangkan dengan empat fitur pencarian (kata kunci, semantik teks, semantik gambar, dan RAG Multimodal) menggunakan model SigLIP untuk embedding dan Gemini 2.5 Pro untuk generasi respons. Evaluasi kualitatif dengan desain task scenario dan Think-Aloud Protocol menunjukkan bahwa fitur RAG Multimodal secara konsisten menjadi pilihan utama partisipan, terutama dalam skenario pencarian yang kompleks dan ambigu. Partisipan menilai sistem ini mampu memberikan rekomendasi yang terjustifikasi, adaptif, dan konsultatif, sehingga mengatasi keterbatasan pendekatan konvensional.

Abstract

Chatbot berbasis Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) menawarkan solusi untuk mengotomatisasi layanan IT Support dengan mengurangi risiko hallucination melalui grounding jawaban pada knowledge base organisasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis performa chatbot IT Support di Badan Sistem Informasi (BSI) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) yang menggunakan arsitektur RAG dengan multi-stage retrieval, hybrid search, cross-encoder reranking, dan Redis caching untuk optimasi latensi. Evaluasi dilakukan pada 10 skenario penggunaan yang mencakup penggunaan Nvivo, VPN eduVPN, Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive, dan layanan TI lainnya. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa sistem hybrid search mencapai rata-rata latensi cold query sebesar 8076 ms dengan peningkatan speedup 3,06× pada warm query. Sistem mampu mencapai skor similarity rata-rata 0,628 dan berhasil menolak 80% noise query yang berada di luar domain IT Support. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggabungan LangGraph router, hybrid retrieval, reranking, dan Redis caching dapat menghasilkan chatbot IT Support yang akurat, efisien, dan robust terhadap query di luar domain.

Abstract

Information technology (IT) is one of the strategic investments for Banks. IT can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities and strengthen their competitive position. Given that IT is an expensive investment, while its implementation contains various risks, Banks need to implement Information Technology Governance. Banks are required to implement some standards for IT governance in multiple aspects, one of which is the IT incident management aspect. IT services at the Bank are crucial because they must work optimally with zero downtime. They must ensure the management and prevention of any problems that may arise to support the sustainability of the company’s business processes. One of the frameworks that can be used for good IT service incident management is Information Technology Infrastructure Library version 3 (ITIL v3). ITIL’s incident management aims to restore disrupted IT services to their normal state and reduce the business impact. To measure the extent to which the Bank has implemented IT Incident Management Governance, the maturity level is calculated by comparing the current state (as is) and the desired shape (to be) to obtain the maturity level gap. The process of maturity level assessment is carried out using interviews and questionnaires addressed to all stakeholders involved in the entire IT incident management process. The research results show that 15 of the 42 IT incident management processes have not reached the desired state. Based on these gaps, an IT incident management governance document was designed based on the ITIL v3 framework, which is expected when implemented in the Bank’s daily operations. It will increase the availability of IT services.

Abstract

Many organizations do not use centralized user authorization with Single Sign-On (SSO) Management to seamlessly move from one system to another. The same thing also occurred at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). Students were having trouble login in from one web service to another. The Board of Information Systems of UII, or Badan Sistem Informasi (BSI), implements SSO to avoid this problem. However, after BSI implemented SSO on the virtual machine, it turned out that the server load became too high. A spiking number of user logins happened in a short period. The centralized system could not handle this. The research's solution is to use a clustered service using Shibboleth IdP. The Shibboleth IdP customization can be carried out to be deployed into the Kubernetes cluster infrastructure ecosystem to meet the needs of authentication login on the business processes at UII. The Shibboleth IdP itself will be equipped with a persistent storage longhorn to support and maintain the service and avoid a single point of failure. The Kubernetes and Persistent Volume Longhorn provide a redundancy function in an application and a more flexible replication process. Inside Kubernetes, there is containerization technology. It was used to optimize the server's resources instead of replicating the application using virtual machines. With the use of centralized login by Shibboleth IdP and persistent storage longhorn, the error because of server load could be minimized. The downtime of the downed services can also be reduced. The research also proves that using Kubernetes and Persistent Volume Longhorn could help the system by preventing a Single Point of Failure using its redundancy function.

Abstract

The slow adoption of IPv6, despite its numerous advantages over IPv4, is a pressing issue in many regions, including Indonesia. This challenge is particularly significant given the increasing demand for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and the need for a sustainable, scalable, and flexible network infrastructure. In response to this issue, our research introduces the Design Thinking-Inspired Technology Adoption (DTITA) model. This innovative approach leverages design thinking principles to facilitate the adoption of new and challenging technologies. DTITA incorporates the five stages of design thinking alongside traditional technology adoption factors, such as perceived usefulness, ease of use, and social influence. The DTITA model aims to create user-centric solutions that address new technologies' unique challenges and barriers. By placing the user at the center of the design process, we were able to develop solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also highly accessible and relevant to users. Through a survey involving individuals from the education industry, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, government institutions, and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, we identified key barriers impeding the widespread implementation of IPv6. This study provides valuable insights into the application of design thinking in the context of technology adoption, particularly in the case of IPv6. It contributes to the broader discourse on technology adoption and offers practical recommendations for stakeholders and decision-makers in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the agreement between calorie estimations generated by smartwatches and manual calculations based on the Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) during physical activity. Three participants with different physiological characteristics and activity intensities completed 15 training sessions using the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 and 10. Calorie estimates from the devices were compared with MET-based calculations using the paired sample t-test. The results indicate that, for moderate to high intensity activities such as jogging and running, no significant differences (p > 0.05) were observed between the two estimation methods, suggesting a good level of agreement. Conversely, low-intensity walking showed significant differences (p < 0.05), reflecting a tendency for overestimation by the smartwatch. Overall, the agreement improved when heart rate rhythm and movement patterns were more stable, consistent with physiological principles relating oxygen consumption and MET values. As a preliminary case-series, this study highlights the importance of activity intensity when interpreting smartwatch-based energy estimates and provides insight into the practical use of wearable devices for daily exercise monitoring.
