The phenomenon in Semarang Regency was the tendency for school-age children to be overweight. This overweight event indeed occurs several times. Child age is a vulnerable phase in nutritional problems because this causes the onset of a disease at the next age. This community service aims to increase understanding and skills in utilizing learning media through Edugame about my plate content. Method of Activity: This activity was carried out from the 3rd of June to the 3rd of July 2023 in Genuk district, Semarang Regency. The results of the questionnaire about the knowledge before and after the activity were analyzed using univariate analysis of frequency distribution. This community service activity was done in Posyandu (Integrated Services Post) for under-five children by involving village midwives, cadres, and 11 mothers having under-five children. Results: The results of this community service show that knowledge is increasing about my plate content after counseling or socialization. Discussion: This Edugame can be used as a media for health education to help the community increase understanding of a theme. This Edugame can be used to overcome the saturation of recipients of information, especially toddlers: it helps learn, motivates, fun educational media, and can increase creativity.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease known as the silent killer. The majority of deaths from stroke and heart attacks worldwide (more than 1000 cases/hour) are caused by hypertension. This study aims to determine the increase in knowledge and attitudes about hypertension after being given an intervention in the form of digital consultation, information, and education (KIE).Method: The study employed a One-group pretest-posttest design with 36 purposively sampled respondents. It took place in Semarang from November 2023 to January 2024. Digital KIE was the intervention, delivered through WhatsApp flyers over 3 days, facilitated by a healthcare professional. Knowledge and attitudes about hypertension were measured, and data analysis utilized the Wilcoxon test.Result: The average age of respondents was 43.2 (±13.6) years, with a majority being female (75%), having a secondary education (58.3%), employed (77.8%), income > regional minimum wage (63.9%), having a family history of hypertension (63.9%), and not suffering from hypertension (75%). Findings from this study revealed an increase in respondents with good knowledge from 69.4% to 94.4% and respondents with a positive attitude from 61.1% to 80.6%. There was a significant difference in knowledge (Δ = 1; p = 0.000) and respondents' attitudes (Δ = 1.5; p = 0.020) after being provided with hypertension intervention using digital KIE. Digital KIE significantly improves knowledge and attitudes about hypertension. The implementation of digital KIE on a larger scale is expected to be a means of preventing hypertension.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) remain critical issues in Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia and Thailand, where industrial growth has led to an increase in workplace accidents and occupational diseases. This study focuses on an international community service collaboration between Thammasat University in Thailand and Indonesian institutions. The program aims to enhance students' understanding of OSH challenges, share knowledge on workplace accident prevention, and introduce ergonomics-based health promotion media. The activities included presentations, discussions, and evaluations to measure knowledge improvement. Results indicated that students significantly increased their understanding of OSH principles, as evidenced by high scores on post-activity quizzes. Additionally, the introduction of ergonomics-based health promotion media highlighted its potential as a preventive tool in addressing workplace hazards. This program underscores the importance of cross-border collaborations in advancing workplace safety and offers insights for scaling similar initiatives across ASEAN countries.

Abstract

Female Sex Workers (FSWs) are a group vulnerable to HIV, violence, unwanted pregnancies, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) due to limited access to information and reproductive health services. This community service aims to improve the knowledge and attitudes of FSWs and shelter managers regarding reproductive health. The activity was conducted using counseling methods, including material presentations, discussions, and experience sharing. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average knowledge score (from 55.7 to 65.7) and attitude score (from 27.9 to 29.6) after the counseling. Although this program successfully improved reproductive health knowledge and attitudes, cross-sectoral collaboration between the Health Office, Community Health Centers (Puskesmas), NGOs, and academics is still needed to optimize programs and reproductive health services for FSWs.

Abstract

Abstract

Objective: The International Labor Organization (ILO) assesses that manufacture is one of the sectors that has a high risk of operating during a pandemic. The characteristics of manufacturing, namely the production process that cannot be done remotely and the relatively low quality of human resources, makes manufacturing at high risk when operating during this pandemic. Working in stressful situations such as the threat of termination of employment and the threat of COVID-19 itself causes disruption to labor productivity. Content: One aspect of increasing work productivity during this pandemic is by increasing self-efficacy in implementing health protocols. Several recommendations based on previous research formulate that management needs to review the implementation of several interventions to increase self-efficacy, including the provision of health protocol infrastructure, health promotion, dissemination of reliable information, designing mental health and stress management programs, and providing full support to workers. These efforts are expected to be able to increase labor productivity and maintain a safe work environment.
