Abstract

Abstract

Database is one of the important components in an information system because the database will provide information that will be used by the user. Preliminary research reveals information that understanding material regarding Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) is still difficult for students to understand. Understanding database concepts requires relationships that are based on perceptions in the real world. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a learning concept that will help teachers to relate learning material to the actual situation experienced by students. This research uses comparative causal quantitative research and applies the Extensive Lifecycle (ELC) software development method. This research got the following results: 1) Multimedia web-based learning has a percentage of 188.5 with the category "Very Good" by media experts. 2) The use of web-based learning multimedia with the CTL model has been proven to improve students' conceptual understanding as evidenced by an increase in the mean gain value of 0.59 with the effectiveness criterion of "moderate". 3) Based on the correlation test, there is a relationship between student gain scores and multimedia learning. 4) Students provide an assessment of multimedia learning by giving a score of 312 from the ideal score of 334.

Abstract

Every student has different personal needs and characteristics and those must be considered as the factors that must be considered in the learning process. Therefore, appropriate learning methods must be student-centered, otherwise known as personalized learning. This study aims to implement web-based learning media with a personalized learning approach to improve cognitive abilities of vocational school students, measure the effect of media application and student responses to learning media. This study uses a quantitative method with a comparative causal design, and the Whole Life Cycle method is used for media development. The research design used was a one-group pretest-posttest. Web-based learning media with a personalized learning approach that was developed and got a percentage score of 86% or "Very Good" by experts on media testing. The use of web-based media with the personalized learning approach can improve the cognitive abilities of vocational students who are tested with post-test questions with an increase in the average N-gain of students in group A of 0.47 (which is in the "medium" category) and in group B an increase in the average N-gain of students by 0.53 (which is included in the "medium" category). There is a relationship between student responses to instructional media and an increase in n-gain at the lower-, middle-, and upper-class levels. For the overall response of students to learning media get a percentage score of 94.43%.

Abstract

The advancement of artificial technology has paved the way for personalized learning experiences through adaptive systems which could be built by developing a recommendation system. In education filed, a variety of learning material recommendation systems that employ user filtering algorithms has prompted a lot attention as well. These systems aim to enhance the learning journey by offering tailored learning content suggestions based on individual preferences. This research explores the design of recommendation of learning content system, focusing on user filtering algorithms to analyze user preferences. By leveraging techniques such as collaborative filtering and user-based filtering, the system can accurately predict and recommend relevant learning materials to users based on others rating. The system continuously refines itself in an effort to increase user satisfaction and recommendation accuracy, which will eventually contribute to more efficient and engaging learning experiences.

Abstract

This research developed questions to measure the improvement in computational thinking (CT) abilities of children with mild autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A quantitative approach was used in this research, with data collection through filling out expert judgment questionnaires by material experts and questions related to CT. The study results showed that the questions created were considered good for use in improving the CT abilities of children with ASD. The results of material expert validation showed an average value of 78.32%, which falls into the good category. In contrast, the question expert validation gives a perfect score, which confirms the validity of the questions created for the material and learning objectives used. The question instrument developed includes three main components of CT, namely decomposition, pattern recognition, and algorithm design, with a design that uses images and visual elements as well as simple instructions to facilitate understanding and involvement in children with ASD. This study bring a positive contribution to the development of more inclusive and effective CT learning for children with ASD.

Abstract

Advancements in technology and global information infrastructure have transformed education, leveraging a constructivist approach that enhances knowledge construction through student interaction with computer applications. The research aimed to explore the facilitation of enhancing mathematical maturity through the integration of technology in mathematics education using computational thinking. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The participants in this study were 15 Grade XI students from various classes of the Vocational High School, selected from a total of 159 students. The data collection techniques used in this research included observation and open-ended test instruments. The data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show: (1) technology enhances mathematics education; (2) computers deepen mathematical understanding; (3) technology creates contextual learning environments for problem-solving; (4) combining computational thinking and technology aids in mastering mathematical concepts. The conclusion is that integrating computational thinking with technology-enhanced learning significantly fosters mathematical maturity among students.
