Abstract

This research aims to describe the form and function of sarcasm on Tiktok social media accounts. This type of research is qualitative using descriptive methods. Data collection will be in October 2023. The instrument in this human interest. Data collection techniques in this research used listening, note-taking and documentation techniques. Data analysis uses data analysis techniques based on Miles and Huberman, namely in the form of data reduction, data validity, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the forms of sarcasm language style on the Tiktok social media account include nature sarcasm, epithet sarcasm, action sarcasm, sarcasm resulting from actions and appeal sarcasm. Apart from that, the function of sarcasm language style on the Tiktok social media account is as a form of conveying information, conveying affirmation, conveying opinions, conveying questions, and conveying similarities.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating project-based learning (PjBL) with the Latemmamala cultural approach in enhancing the analytical exposition writing skills of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Soppeng. Utilizing a quantitative research design, the study assessed improvements in students' writing abilities through pre-test and post-test evaluations, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, fluency, and organization. Results indicated a notable increase in students' writing skills, with the mean score rising from 1425 to 2240. The standard deviation decreased from pre-test (4.811) to post-test (3.185), suggesting a more uniform improvement among students post-intervention. The paired samples t-test further substantiated the efficacy of the intervention (t(observational) = 7.14, p < 0.05), indicating a significant enhancement in writing skills attributable to the culturally infused PBL methodology. The study revealed that integrating PBL with a cultural perspective not only improved students' writing proficiency but also enhanced their motivation, creativity, and engagement with the learning process. It demonstrated that the Latemmamala cultural theme enriched the learning environment, fostering a closer bond between teacher and students through continuous monitoring and support during the project work. Significant improvements were observed in various facets of writing, reflecting the approach's comprehensive impact. By demonstrating the potential of culturally responsive teaching strategies, this study provides a valuable model for educators seeking to foster more inclusive, engaging, and effective learning environments. It underscores the importance of integrating cultural heritage within a PjBL framework to enhance language education, offering new insights into the potential of culturally enriched PBL. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on the benefits of cultural approaches in education and highlights the efficacy of integrating the Latemmamala cultural approach in improving students' academic skills and cultural understanding

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of a contextual approach in enhancing students’ poetry writing skills, creativity, and engagement at SMPN 1 Majene. By integrating students’ personal experiences and cultural contexts into the learning process, the study aimed to address challenges such as limited understanding of poetic structures, difficulties in self-expression, and lack of engagement in poetry writing. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, involving classroom observations, student artifacts, interviews, and reflective journals. The findings reveal that the contextual approach significantly improved students’ understanding of poetic elements such as rhyme, rhythm, and stanza structure. Furthermore, students demonstrated enhanced creativity and self-expression, producing authentic and emotionally resonant poems by drawing on their lived experiences. Collaborative activities, such as peer reviews and group discussions, fostered a supportive learning environment that further motivated students. However, challenges were observed, including difficulties with advanced poetic techniques and hesitancy in sharing work during peer sessions. These findings highlight the transformative potential of contextual learning in making poetry writing more accessible and meaningful, while also underscoring the need for ongoing refinement of teaching strategies. This study provides valuable insights for educators and curriculum designers seeking to enhance creative writing instruction through relevant and inclusive pedagogical approaches.

Abstract

Abstract. The Effectiveness of Puzzle Picture Media in German Speaking Skills (Sprechfertigkeit) ofstudents at German Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State University. This research was conducted to obtain data and information regarding students' German speaking skills using Puzzle Picture Media. This research is a Quasi-Experimental research where data is collected through speaking skills tests. Data were analyzed using t-test. The population of this study were students from the German Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State University, consists of two classes with  57 students. The sample used was a random sampling consists of 57 students, namely 29 class A students as the experimental class and 28 class B students as the control class. The results of data analysis obtained t count 8.83 > t table 2.004 at alpha level of 0.05. Abstract

Learning Meaning Learning in Tale Texts in Class X SMA. The purpose of this study was to implement learning to identify meaning in saga texts carried out by teachers and students in class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Toraja Utara. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data used are learning data by teachers, data on the implementation of learning by teachers and students, learning the meaning of saga texts by students. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through three steps, namely documentation, observation, and interviews. The results showed that the implementation of learning to identify meaning in saga texts was carried out by: (1) preparing a Lesson Plan, and (2) the teacher using authentic assessment techniques, namely the assessment used to assess the domains of attitudes, knowledge, and skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi maksim pujian dalam prinsip kesantunan berbahasa terhadap siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Sungguminasa. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tuturan yang termasuk dalam indikator maksim pujian. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kels VII D SMPN 1 Sungguminasa. Data dalam penelitian ini merupakan data verbal. Data tersebut berupa tuturan siswa terhadap siswa lainnya yang menyatakan maksim pujian. Instrument penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan menggunakan alat bantu voice recorder. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik pengamatan, teknik rekam, teknik transkip, teknik catat, kemudian diseleksi, diatur, dan diklasifikasikan. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianasis menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif deskriptif. Penggunaan maksim pujian dalam prinsip kesantunan berbahasa siswa tergolong minim. Beberapa siswa cenderung hanya menjawab sesuai dengan apa yang telah tertulis tanpa memperhatikan indikator maksim pujian. Peneliti hanya memperoleh 11 (sebelas) tuturan, namun hanya 8 (delapan) tuturan yang tegolong dalam maksim pujian. Tuturan yang termasuk dalam tindak tutur ilokusi asertif hanya ada 1 (satu) tuturan, sedangkan untuk tindak tutur ekspresif memperoleh 10 (sepuluh) tuturan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, interaksi yang terjadi termasuk kategori cukup memenuhi indikator maksim pujian.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the pair learning model in practice on students' speech skills. This study is a type of pre-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at SMPN 3 Bontonompo, Gowa Regency, specifically in Class IX with a sample of 53 people. Sampling was carried out using the census technique. The research data were obtained from the test technique, namely the speech skills practice test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using SPSS Version 26. Based on the results of the data analysis, the mean pretest value was 58.25 and the mean posttest value was 85.36. Thus, there was an increase from the less skilled category (58.25) to the skilled category (85.36). The results of the hypothesis test using the T-Test obtained a sig. value of 0.000 which means it is less than 0.05. This shows that the use of the pair learning model in practice has a significant effect on the speech skills of class IX students of SMP Negeri 3 Bontonompo, Gowa Regency.  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran pasangan dalam praktik terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Bontonompo, Kabupaten Gowa terkhusus pada Kelas IX dengan jumlah sampel 53 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sensus. Data penelitian diperoleh dari teknik tes, yakni tes praktik keterampilan berpidato. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan SPSS Versi 26. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai mean pretest sebesar 58,25 dan nilai mean posttest 85.36. Dengan demikian terjadi peningkatan dari kategori kurang terampil (58,25) menjadi kategori terampil (85,36). Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan Uji-T diperoleh nilai sig. 0,000 yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran pasangan dalam praktik berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Bontonompo, Kabupaten Gowa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa Jerman di Indonesia, khususnya pada aspek penguasaan kosakata, memerlukan strategi komunikasi instruksional yang efektif. Kosakata merupakan fondasi utama dalam keterampilan berbahasa dan berperan penting dalam kemampuan membaca, menulis, berbicara, serta mendengarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan komunikasi instruksional dalam pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Jerman dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi pustaka. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi instruksional yang melibatkan media visual dan audio, dialog, simulasi, pengulangan, serta pemanfaatan teknologi dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan retensi kosakata siswa. Namun demikian, beberapa hambatan seperti keterbatasan waktu, perbedaan kemampuan siswa, minimnya media pembelajaran, dan rendahnya motivasi belajar masih menjadi tantangan dalam proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu menerapkan pendekatan yang adaptif dan inovatif dalam menyampaikan materi kosakata agar proses belajar menjadi lebih interaktif dan bermakna. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran bahasa asing yang lebih efektif, khususnya dalam penguasaan kosakata bahasa Jerman.
