Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are crucial environments that should ensure the safety and well-being of their students. However, reports of sexual violence incidents involving students, particularly perpetrated by teachers or educators within the pesantren, have raised serious concerns. This community service initiative aims to mitigate such issues through a program focused on self-defense training and legal support. Implemented using the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method, the program involved 30 male and female students from Pondok Pesantren Usysyaqul Qur’an Kendal. Evaluation of the program's impact revealed significant outcomes: 95% achievement of training objectives, 98% achievement of material delivery targets, an 87% improvement in students' understanding of sexual violence issues, and 90% satisfaction among students regarding the program's effectiveness and enjoyment. These results underscore the program's success in enhancing students' awareness and preparedness concerning sexual violence prevention in pesantren settings.

Abstract

Abstract: Cognitive Conflict Strategies are Integrated with Scientific Literacy in Reducing Chemical Misconseptions.Problems with students' misconceptions about hydrolysis material still occur frequently, including at Nurul Hayyah High School. Based on the pre-test data, the percentage of misconceptions was 38.42% in the moderate category. If the misconception is not reduced immediately, it will be fatal. As a result, students have difficulty accepting the next material. One learning strategy that can reduce misconceptions is a cognitive conflict strategy combined with scientific literacy. The advantage of the cognitive conflict strategy is being able to reconstruct the understanding that has been attached to students with the new knowledge they receive so that it can reduce the occurrence of misconceptions. The application of learning with cognitive conflict strategies integrated with scientific literacy took place in two meetings. This research is a quantitative research type of pre-experiment model one group pre test-post test design. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of scientific literacy-oriented cognitive conflict strategies in reducing misconceptions about hydrolysis material. The research was conducted at Nurul Hayyah Brebes High School with a research sample of class XI MIPA 2. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used was an analysis of students' misconceptions and interpretation of the results of the questionnaire. The results showed that scientific literacy-oriented cognitive conflict strategies were effective in reducing students' misconceptions about hydrolysis material. This was marked by a decrease in the percentage of students' misconceptions to 13.68% in the low category. In addition, the effectiveness of scientific literacy-oriented cognitive conflict strategies is also marked by positive responses from students with an average percentage of 78% in the good category. Keywords: Misconceptions, Cognitive Conflict, HydrolysisDOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.i3.2023.06

Abstract

After the pandemic, learning was again carried out offline, making students feel anxious and worried about the assignments given by the lecturers. Students' ability to manage time-related to self-discipline is needed during the transition from online to offline learning. This study aims to measure the level of post-pandemic student academic procrastination or delay based on a gender perspective. Gender analysis is crucial because men have synonymously carried out academic delays, so this research needs to be done. This study used a quantitative approach through a cross-sectional exploratory study involving comparative and correlation analysis. ‎ The population of this study was students of chemistry education at UIN Walisongo Semarang: semester 1, semester 3, and semester 5. The results showed no significant difference in academic Procrastination between male and female students (p > 0.05). The absence of this difference can be due to factors that influence individual development, such as physical, psychological development and social roles, so Procrastination is not determined by gender. DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.3.2023.07

Abstract

The importance of mastering the 4C skills—particularly creative thinking—is paramount in the digital era. However, the reality is that the implementation of learning in schools has not yet effectively stimulated creative thinking skills, supported by observation results which show that students' creative thinking skills are relatively low. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of implementing the PBL-SSI model on students' creative thinking skills in green chemistry material. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasy experiment method in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects used were 23 students of SMAN 5 Semarang class X.3 and 28 students of X.4. Determined using a cluster random sampling technique. This research used an independent sample t-test and effect size, the t-test value was <0.001 and the effect size test was 0.708 (medium), indicating that PBL-SSI can stimulate creative thinking skills and there is even an increase in the medium category.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in the successful implementation of authentic assessment, particularly within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes the integration of 21st-century skills, or the 4Cs. This study aims to analyze the readiness of high school chemistry teachers (SMA/MA) in Semarang City to implement authentic assessment integrated with 4C skills, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using thematic analysis supported by triangulation techniques, which included interviews, observations, and document analysis. The participants were selected through purposive sampling of 20 teachers from different schools. Data analysis was conducted through several stages: data transcription, coding, thematic categorization, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that chemistry teachers demonstrated a high level of readiness across four aspects: (1) Cognitive: 74% of the assessment tools were complete, indicating a good understanding of authentic assessment; (2) Physical: All respondents were in good health and had strong physical endurance; (3) Psychological: The teachers were motivated and showed strong interest in implementing authentic assessment; (4) Facilities and Infrastructure: On average, the schools had adequate facilities and resources available. Supporting factors included training, infrastructure availability, teacher collaboration, and a solid understanding of assessment concepts. The main obstacles were the lack of advanced training, significant differences in student abilities, limited time, and low technological proficiency among some teachers. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening policy and providing continuous professional development to improve the quality of authentic assessments integrated with 4C skills

Abstract

Abstract: The Troso weaving industry plays an important role in the local economy, but the dyeing process produces liquid waste that has the potential to pollute the environment if not managed properly. The limited knowledge and waste processing facilities have caused some artisans not to implement an environmentally friendly and sustainable waste management system. This service aims to enhance workers' awareness and skills in managing liquid waste thru the application of phytoremediation technology. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving 20 weaving workers as active participants, thru stages of initial assessment, socialization of waste impact, as well as demonstration and practice of using phytoremediation-based waste processing tools. The evaluation system was conducted using a pretest–posttest design to measure the increase in participants' understanding, as well as a technical effectiveness test thru the measurement of color reduction in waste before and after treatment. The results showed that participants' understanding increased by 85% based on pretest–posttest results, and phytoremediation technology effectively reduced waste color by up to 90%. These findings confirm that the application of phytoremediation technology accompanied by participatory assistance is not only technically effective but also capable of enhancing workers' awareness and readiness to implement waste management independently and sustainably.
