Abstract

Low carbon steel cannot be hardened because of its low carbon content. Therefore, a hardfacing process is carried out to increase hardness. Apart from increasing hardness, the benefits of hardfacing can increase wear and corrosion resistance. The hardfacing process using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process generally uses commercial electrodes. Therefore, it is necessary to add other elements such as titanium (Ti) to the weld layer to further increase its hardness. This research aims to study the influences of Titanium (Ti) addition in welding layers that were welded using HV 600 to micro and macrostructure, hardness, and corrosion rate. The hardfacing was conducted using the SMAW process with the various addition of Ti (0.115, 0.223, and 0.334 g) and cooled at room temperature. Macrostructure and microstructure were investigated using digital cameras and an optical microscope. Hardness and corrosion rate were investigated using the Vickers hardness test and weigh loss method. Based on macrostructure investigation, there is a perfect fusion between base metal and weld metal. The microstructure formed is a austenite, martensite and carbide phase. The lowest corrosion rate of 17.54 mpy was seen in the Ti1 sample. The lowest Ti addition would resulting higher hardness at 761.06 VHN.

Abstract

This research aims to look at the hardness and corrosion of the weld layer. In addition, distortions were also observed in the post-welding specimens. Weld layers were made with variations of one, two and three layers of welding using HV-800 electrodes. The first step in this research is a literature study, followed by preparing tools and materials, heating electrodes, welding process, observing distortion, cutting specimens for testing followed by hardness and corrosion testing, and data analysis and conclusions. From the results of observing the distortion, it can be seen that the thicker the weld layer, the greater the distortion that will occur. Distortions in specimens welded with one, two and three layers are 1.5, 4 and 6° respectively. Furthermore, based on the results of the hardness test, it can be seen that the thicker the weld layer, the greater the hardness. The hardness of the one, two and three layer welded specimens was 550.2, 632.82 and 650.68 HV respectively. Then, based on the weighing results, it can be seen that the longer the immersion time, the greater the reduction in mass during 120 hours of immersing. Finally, from the results of the corrosion rate calculation it can be seen that the thicker the weld layer, the lower the corrosion rate that will occur. The corrosion rates for specimens welded with one, two and three layers were 13.23, 11.02 and 10.29 mpy, respectively. All three specimens have good corrosion resistance because they fall into the "good" criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of innovation and technology in strengthening the Islamic finance ecosystem in the digital era. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach through a literature-based analysis integrating technology adoption theories (TAM, UTAUT, DOI) and the principles of maqaṣid al-shari’ah as the theoretical foundation. The findings reveal that perceived usefulness, ease of use, social influence, and infrastructural support are the key determinants influencing users’ intentions toward adopting Islamic financial technologies. Furthermore, Shariah-compliant fintech innovation driven by maqaṣid al-shari’ah enhances financial inclusion, ethical governance, and sustainable economic development. The study emphasizes that collaboration among regulators, financial institutions, and educational entities is crucial to developing adaptive regulations and strengthening digital-Shariah literacy. The main conclusion underscores the significance of aligning technological innovation with Islamic ethical principles to advance the competitiveness of the Islamic finance industry globally.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether by applying Blended Learning learning models using Moodle applications can improve student learning outcomes of D-3 Mechanical Engineering in Applied Physics courses at Jakarta State University. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is a form of investigation conducted by participants involved in the situation under study. The action is followed by observation and reflection. If needed at a later stage, a followup plan is prepared. The effort was carried out in cycles to form one cycle. The place of research was conducted at Jakarta State University, and the research subjects were 29 Mechanical Engineering D3 students. The study was conducted on November 7, 2019 until December 26, 2019. Learning outcomes were obtained through written tests and then analyzed to compare exam results in each cycle. The results of this study indicate that an increase in student learning outcomes in Applied Physics courses by applying Blended Learning learning models using the Moodle application. Improved learning outcomes can be seen in Cycle I the average value of all students is 52.84 and only 51.72% or 15 students out of a total of 29 students who scored ≥60. In Cycle II the mean value of all students was 74.05 and 86.21% or 25 students out of a total of 29 students who scored ≥60. Researchers can conclude student learning outcomes have increased with the application of Blended Learning learning models using the Moodle application. Abstract

Hardfacing over carbon steel was carried out using the SMAW apparatus. The sample was hard-faced with a single layer using HV 800 electrode with a 1G weld position. Different welding currents were used, such as 90, 100, and 110 A. After the weld, the sample was quickly immersed in distilled water. Cooled samples were cleaned with a chipping hammer and a wire brush. Afterwards, the samples were cut for hardness and corrosion testing. The highest hardness in the sample was welded using 110A, while the lowest hardness was welded using 90A. Increasing the current from 90 to 110 A could increase hardness by approximately 2.31%. The lowest current was used during welding, resulting in a lower corrosion rate. This means that the welding layer produced at the lowest current has greater corrosion resistance than that produced at higher currents. Reducing the current from 110 to 90 A could reduce the corrosion rate by approximately 44.33%. Finally, all three specimens meet the "good" criteria of corrosion resistance.
