Abstract

At the end of 2019 a pandemic emerged from China in the city of Wuhan known as covid-19 which is a viral infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus) which attacks the respiratory tract, this virus can spread quickly . Seeing a situation like this, the government has taken a policy by implementing social distancing recommendations and developing vaccines to prevent the wider spread of this pandemic. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and willingness to participate in the covid-19 vaccination in the Luwu community. By using a descriptive survey method, sampling using a purposive sampling method with a total sample of 100 respondents. The results showed that the level of knowledge of the respondents 80% were in the very good category, 18% in the good category and a small part were in the fairly good category, namely 2%. And the level of willingness of most of the respondents are in the willing category as much as 50%. 48% are very willing and a small part are in the moderately willing category, namely as much as 2%. So from the results of this study it can be concluded that the picture of community knowledge is in the very good category (92%) and the picture of willingness is in the very willing category (78.8%).

Abstract

Providing drug information to patients is one of the important indicators for patients in the successful use of their drugs. This study was conducted at the Tamalate Health Center in Makassar City with the aim of evaluating patient satisfaction with the provision of drug information. Evaluation of patient satisfaction in this study used the services quality method, namely by measuring patient satisfaction on five dimensions of services, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The respondents involved amounted to 100 people obtained using accidental sampling. The research data were obtained using a questionnaire with Likert scale. The results obtained were analyzed by gap analysis in reality with expectations. A positive gap value or zero (0) indicates that the patient is satisfied and a negative gap value indicates that the patient is dissatisfied. In this study, an overall patient satisfaction level of 76.67% (very satisfied) was obtained. The results of the gap analysis obtained in the tangible dimension (tangibel) are -0.09, in the dimension of reliability (reliability) is -0.54, in the dimension of responsiveness (responsiveness) is -0.07, in the dimension of assurance (assurance) is 0.01, and in the dimension of empathy (empathy) is -0.06. Pemberian informasi obat kepada pasien adalah salah satu indikator penting bagi pasien dalam keberhasilan penggunaan obatnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Puskesmas Tamalate Kota Makassar dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi kepuasan pasien terhadap pemberian informasi obat. Evaluasi kepuasan pasien pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode service quality, yaitu dengan mengukur kepuasan pasien pada lima dimensi pelayanan, yaitu dimensi berwujud (tangible), kehandalan (reliability), ketanggapan (responsiveness), jaminan (assurance), dan empati (empathy). Responden yang terlibat berjumlah 100 orang yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan accidental sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala likert. Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisa gap (kesenjangan) pada kenyataan dengan harapan. Nilai gap yang positif atau nol (0) menandakan bahwa pasien merasa puas dan nilai gap yang negatif menandakan bahwa pasien merasa tidak puas. Pada penelitian ini, diperoleh tingkat kepuasan pasien secara keseluruhan sebesar 76,67% (sangat puas). Hasil analisis gap yang diperoleh pada dimensi berwujud (tangibel) adalah -0,09, pada dimensi kehandalan (reliability) adalah – 0,54, pada dimensi ketanggapan (responsiveness) adalah -0,07, pada dimensi jaminan (assurance) adalah 0,01, dan pada dimensi empati (empathy) adalah -0,06.

Abstract

Preventing Anemia Through Regular Iron Supplement IntakeAnemia is a significant public health issue, particularly among adolescent girls, with a high prevalence in Makassar. Low hemoglobin levels and a lack of understanding about healthy dietary practices are the main causes of anemia, requiring effective interventions to prevent and address this condition. Objective: This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia, the importance of consuming iron supplements, and preventive measures through community-based education. Methods: The activity was conducted using interactive lectures supported by presentation media, Q&A sessions to clarify misunderstood information, a group iron supplement consumption practice, and the distribution of educational leaflets as additional guidelines. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess participants' knowledge improvement. Outputs: The results demonstrated a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, with 43.33% categorized as having good knowledge before the session, rising to 90% after the session. Participants also showed high enthusiasm during the activity through active engagement in discussions and direct practice. Conclusion: This educational program successfully improved adolescent girls' knowledge and awareness of anemia and its prevention, motivating them to adopt preventive measures through regular consumption of iron supplements.Remaja perempuan, dengan prevalensi yang cukup tinggi di Kota Makassar. Rendahnya kadar hemoglobin dan kurangnya pemahaman tentang pola makan sehat menjadi faktor utama penyebab anemia, sehingga diperlukan intervensi yang tepat untuk mencegah dan mengatasinya. Tujuan Kegiatan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja perempuan tentang anemia, pentingnya konsumsi tablet tambah darah, dan langkah-langkah pencegahan melalui edukasi berbasis komunitas. Metode Kegiatan: Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah interaktif menggunakan media presentasi, sesi tanya jawab untuk mengklarifikasi informasi yang kurang dipahami, praktik minum tablet tambah darah bersama, serta pembagian leaflet edukasi sebagai panduan tambahan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Capaian Luaran: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada tingkat pemahaman peserta, dengan 43,33% peserta berada dalam kategori pengetahuan baik sebelum penyuluhan, meningkat menjadi 90% setelah penyuluhan. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama kegiatan melalui partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi dan praktik langsung. Kesimpulan: Penyuluhan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran remaja perempuan tentang anemia dan pencegahannya, serta memotivasi mereka untuk menjalankan langkah pencegahan melalui konsumsi tablet tambah darah secara rutin.

Abstract

Education and Training On Instant Herbal Powder to Support The Cure of Tuberculosis in Maccini Sombala Village, Makassar CityTuberculosis infection is a disease that attacks the respiratory tract, especially the lungs, with symptoms of coughing up phlegm for more than 2 weeks. Tuberculosis treatment according to WHO standards is available free of charge at Community Health Centers, however side effects of treatment and other factors can trigger patients to drop out of treatment. Complete education on treatment and solutions to prevent side effects of treatment are the basis for this activity. Scientifically proven herbal solutions are the topic of this education. The aim of the activity to increasing participants' knowledge and providing training in making instant Miana ginger powder to support the cure for tuberculosis. Activity Method. Education and training. The target audience is the sub-district team, posyandu cadres and PKK cadres, Maccini Sombala Village, totaling 30 people. Evaluation of extension activities based on pre and post extension questionnair Evaluation of extension activities based on pre- and post-education questionnaires. Training activities are evaluated based on participants' enthusiasm for participating in the training and direct practice in making instant powder. Activity Results. The increase in participants' knowledge after counseling was 60% and there was an increase in skills based on the results of participants' practice. The obligatory output outcomes of Community service obligations include increasing knowledge, articles in pharmaceutical service media, training manuals, mini activity videos, publications in print media/online newspapers. Additional outputs include book copyrights and training products. Conclusion. there was an increase in participants' knowledge and skills. Infeksi tuberkulosis adalah penyakit yang menyerang saluran napas khususnya paru dengan gejala batuk berdahak lebih dari 2 minggu. Pengobatan tuberkulosis sesuai standar WHO tersedia gratis di Puskesmas, namun efek samping pengobatan dan faktor lainnya dapat memicu pasien putus pengobatan. Edukasi tuntas berobat dan solusi mencegah efek samping pengobatan menjadi dasar kegiatan ini. Solusi penggunaan herbal yang telah terbukti secara ilmiah merupakan topik edukasi ini.   Tujuan Kegiatan meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta dan memberikan pelatihan membuat serbuk instan miana jahe untuk menunjang penyembuhan tuberkulosis Metode Kegiatan. Edukasi dan pelatihan. Khalayak sasaran adalah tim kelurahan, kader posyandu dan kader PKK Kelurahan Maccini Sombala berjumlah 30 orang. Evaluasi kegiatan penyuluhan berdasarkan kuesioner pre dan post edukasi. Kegiatan pelatihan dievaluasi berdasarkan antusias peserta mengikuti pelatihan dan praktek langsung membuat serbuk instan. Hasil Kegiatan. Peningkatan pengetahuan peserta setelah penyuluhan sebesar 70% dan terjadi alih teknologi pembuatan herbal dalam bentuk serbuk instan. Capaian luaran wajib pengabdian masyarakat yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan, artikel pada media pengabdian kefarmasian, buku panduan pelatihan, video mini kegiatan,  publikasi pada media cetak/koran online.  Luaran tambahan berupa hak cipta buku dan produk hasil pelatihan. Kesimpulan. terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta.

Abstract

Background: A medication error is defined as "any preventable event that may cause or lead to inappropriate medication use or patient harm while the medication is in the control of the healthcare professional, patient, or consumer." A medication error might occur at any point during the medication-use process, such as when prescribing the medicines, during dispensing, and when the drug is taken by the patient. Objectives: This review focusing on the types of medication errors (MEs) which commonly occurs during prescribing and dispensing phase on the outpatient in Indonesia. Material and Methods: Articles related to MEs during prescribing and dispensing phase were collected from DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and google scholar. The articles were reviewed and analyze to draw conclusions about the common type of MEs mostly occured on the outpatients. There were 10 articles (2003-2020) that have been reviewed, covering the types of MEs, MEs incidents and how to reduce the number of MEs incident. Results: Based on the reviewed articles, MEs commonly occured in the prescribing phase were incomplete data of patient's on the prescription include address, born date, weight and gender; unclear information on the prescription including, dosage, route of adminstration, illegible writing; uncomplete data on the doctor's information such as the practise license number wasn't listed, and there were no information on medicine interactions. MEs occured during dispensing phase were uncomplete data on the information about how to use, time of using, indication, the amount of the drug given, the side effects, the storage instruction, the strength or the doses of medicine, error in writing etiquette, error in compounding as well as there was no information related what to do if the patient forgot to take the medicines.

Abstract

Anak-anak sering kali mengalami kesulitan dalam membedakan antara obat dan permen karena adanya kemiripan bentuk, warna, dan kemasan yang menarik. Ketidaktahuan ini dapat menimbulkan risiko penyalahgunaan obat, terutama pada kelompok usia sekolah dasar yang masih berada dalam tahap perkembangan kognitif awal. Rendahnya literasi obat pada anak-anak menjadi perhatian serius karena dapat menyebabkan konsumsi obat yang tidak sesuai dan berpotensi menimbulkan efek samping yang berbahaya. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar tentang perbedaan antara obat dan permen serta menanamkan sikap bijak dalam menggunakan obat. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SD Inpres Maccini Baru Kota Makassar dengan peserta sebanyak 30 siswa kelas V. Edukasi dilakukan melalui metode penyuluhan interaktif yang disesuaikan dengan usia dan kemampuan kognitif siswa, disampaikan oleh dua orang pemateri dengan dukungan visual dan komunikasi dua arah. Untuk menilai efektivitas kegiatan, dilakukan evaluasi melalui pretest dan posttest. Hasil pretest menunjukkan rata-rata nilai sebesar 83,66, sedangkan hasil posttest meningkat menjadi 88,33. Seluruh peserta menunjukkan peningkatan atau stabil pada tingkat pemahaman tinggi. Peningkatan skor ini menunjukkan keberhasilan pendekatan edukatif yang diterapkan dalam penyuluhan. Selain penyampaian materi, kegiatan ini juga dilengkapi dengan sesi tanya jawab, pemberian doorprize untuk siswa yang aktif, serta pemberian cenderamata kepada pihak sekolah sebagai bentuk apresiasi. Penyuluhan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan literasi obat siswa, tetapi juga membangun kesadaran akan pentingnya penggunaan obat yang aman sejak dini. Ke depan, kegiatan serupa perlu diperluas ke sekolah lain guna mendukung program Gerakan Masyarakat Cerdas Menggunakan Obat (GeMa CerMat) serta mendorong terciptanya generasi yang lebih sadar kesehatan.

Abstract

Beauty is often associated with having an ideal shape, white and glowing skin, white teeth, and a pleasant voice. Smooth skin is a crucial factor in one's appearance, reflecting their identity. This encourages individuals, especially teenage girls, to aspire to achieve flawless skin. One cosmetic product frequently used by teenagers in Indonesia is the whitening cream, commonly referred to as bleaching cream. The emergence of facial whitening products in the market is driven by consumer demand, aligning with the current trend among teenagers who seek fair skin, thus impacting teenagers' pursuit of perfection. The objective of this study was to assess the level of knowledge and attitudes among adolescents at SMAN 1 Sidrap regarding the selection and use of facial whitening cream cosmetics. Respondents were selected using a cross-sectional design method, aiming to determine the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents at SMAN 1 Sidrap. The results indicate that the knowledge level is in the low category (35.68%), while the attitudes fall into the very good category (20.03%). The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.325, revealing no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of SMAN 1 Sidrap adolescents toward the selection and use of facial whitening cream cosmetics.
