Abstract

Reducing Sugar Levels and Water Content Of Honey Circulating In Makassar CityHoney has many benefits that people can use to improve their health, but the presence of fake honey can have an unwanted impact. This study aims to determine how much-reduced sugar and water content are contained in honey samples circulating in Makassar City. Sample testing was carried out with a qualitative test and a quantitative test. Qualitative testing used the Mollish reagent, Seliwanof reagent, and Fehling reagent and showed positive results for containing reducing sugars. Quantitative testing was carried out using the Luff School method. While testing the water content of honey is done by drying method using an oven. The results showed that the reducing sugar content of the three samples, namely the Honey A sample was 77.11%, the Honey B sample was 69.52%, and the Honey C sample was 85.17%. Meanwhile, the water content obtained by honey sample A was 25.39%, honey sample B was 21.21%, and honey sample C was 19.83%. Abstract

Background: A medication error is defined as "any preventable event that may cause or lead to inappropriate medication use or patient harm while the medication is in the control of the healthcare professional, patient, or consumer." A medication error might occur at any point during the medication-use process, such as when prescribing the medicines, during dispensing, and when the drug is taken by the patient. Objectives: This review focusing on the types of medication errors (MEs) which commonly occurs during prescribing and dispensing phase on the outpatient in Indonesia. Material and Methods: Articles related to MEs during prescribing and dispensing phase were collected from DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and google scholar. The articles were reviewed and analyze to draw conclusions about the common type of MEs mostly occured on the outpatients. There were 10 articles (2003-2020) that have been reviewed, covering the types of MEs, MEs incidents and how to reduce the number of MEs incident. Results: Based on the reviewed articles, MEs commonly occured in the prescribing phase were incomplete data of patient's on the prescription include address, born date, weight and gender; unclear information on the prescription including, dosage, route of adminstration, illegible writing; uncomplete data on the doctor's information such as the practise license number wasn't listed, and there were no information on medicine interactions. MEs occured during dispensing phase were uncomplete data on the information about how to use, time of using, indication, the amount of the drug given, the side effects, the storage instruction, the strength or the doses of medicine, error in writing etiquette, error in compounding as well as there was no information related what to do if the patient forgot to take the medicines.

Abstract

The HER-2 (Human EGF Receptor-2) receptor is a receptor known to be strongly correlated with carcinogenesis and a worse prognosis in breast cancer patients. One of the native Indonesian plants that has been reported to inhibit breast cancer growth is tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.) which is known to contain various active metabolites. However, until now, the molecular activity of each of these metabolites has not been known. and one of the highly accurate simulation methods commonly used is molecular dynamics simulation. This study aims to understand the binding stability of active metabolites in tamarind computationally using molecular dynamics. The simulation begins with the preparation of 3D structures of ligands and receptors. The ligand of active metabolite from tamarind tree was obtained from KnapSack natural compound database, and the 3D structure of HER-2 receptor was obtained from PDB site with code 3PP0 and resolution of 2.25 Å. Furthermore, molecular tethering was performed using Autodock4 software. A high-performance computer was used for molecular dynamics simulation with Gromacs 2016 software for 100 nanoseconds (ns). Afterwards, molecular affinity analysis was performed, including RMSD (Root Mean Square Deviation) and RMSF (Root Mean Square Fluctuation). The analysis results showed that of the 6 compounds found in tamarind plants, the orientin compound showed the most favorable molecular Tethering activity with a value of -8.41 Kcal/mol. Although still higher than the natural ligand, the value is close to the value of the natural ligand with a difference of 1.8 Kcal/mol, which is -10.21 Kcal/mol. Furthermore, orientin showed very similar stability to the native ligand, as observed from the RMSD and RMSF analysis. In conclusion, the compound orientin found in tamarind has the potential to be a lead compound for inhibiting HER-2 in breast cancer.
