Abstract

Background. Human interaction requires communication as a transmission of information, ideas, emotions, skills, and so on. Communication occurs when a source conveys a message to the recipient with a conscious intention to influence the recipient's behavior. One of the problems in social communication is bullying. Bullying or harassment can be through words or through actions that aim to make the opponent's mental fall and pressure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence bullying against depression with the Health Belief Model and Social Cognitive Theory. Subjects and Method. This was a cross-sectional study conducted in junior high schools in Surakarta, in September 2023. A total sample of 250 adolescents was selected by simple random sampling. The dependent variable was bullying. The independent variables were perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, cues to action, perceived threat, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, self-efficacy, and communication. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multiplemultilevel logistic regression run on Stata 13. Results. Bullying increased poorcommunication (b= 4.95; 95% CI= 2.24 to 10.89; p <0.001). Conclusion. Bullying increases poor communication.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Children with hearing impairment delays in aspects of language, one of which is written language. One of the most difficult written languages to mastered is reading comprehension. Low reading comprehension ability is often associated with low syntax ability. Sentences contained in a reading are quite complex which requires syntactical skills in reading comprehension. Objective: This research aim for knowing exists relationship between syntax ability and reading comprehension of hearing impairment children in Surakarta. Method: This research use quantitative research with cross-sectional data collection. Technique sample used on this research is purposive sampling with 30 respondens. The statistical test used is the Spearman Rank test. Results: The results of this study indicate a significance value (ρ) of 0.007 so that there is syntactic ability with reading comprehension in children with hearing loss in Surakarta. The strength indicates a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.481 which means that having a moderate category of correlation strength. Conclusion: There is relationship syntax ability with reading comprehension of hearing impairment children in Surakarta. Keywords : Syntax Ability, Reading Comprehension, Hearing Impairment Children

Abstract

Abstract Background: Down syndrome (SD) is the most common genetic disorder and the easiest to identify. SD or better known as the genetic disorder trisomy, where there is an extra chromosome on chromosome 21. Objectives: Analyzing pragmatic abilities in Down Syndrome children and learning materials in writing scientific research as well as providing additional information regarding pragmatic abilities in Down Syndrome children. Methods: The research carried out is a systematic review research. This research uses data from previous research. A quantitative systematic review combines findings from various independent studies, and produces a statistical summary of those findings (Last, 2001 in Murti, 2018). Results: Down syndrome children show conditions of intellectual problems that are continuous with language problems. Where cognitive abilities are the main capital in communication. Conclusion: Semantic-pragmatic communication abilities create core impairments in the narratives of children with Down syndrome. Abstract

Down syndrome mengalami keterlambatan dalam berbahasa bicara. Salah satu usaha dalam penanganan anak Down Syndrome yaitu terapi wicara. Intervensi yang dapat dilakukan pada terapi wicara dalam meningkatkan bahasa ekspresif salah satunya menggunakan media Story Grammar Marker. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan Story Grammar Marker terhadap kemampuan bahasa ekspresif pada anak Down Syndrome di SLB Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain One-Group Pre-Test and Post-Test, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah total sampling. Tiap sampel akan diberikan Pre-Test menggunakan TKVE kemudian diberikan intervensi menggunakan Story Grammar Marker sebanyak 8 kali, yang kemudian akan di berikan Post-Test dan dianalisis univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Paired T-Test. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan nilai rata - rata raw score adalah 13,67. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan nilai rata - rata raw score adalah 25,83. Hasil uji Paired T-Test menunjukkan nilai p (Sig.) sebesar 0.001. Terdapat pengaruh efektivitas penggunaan Story Grammar Marker terhadap kemampuan bahasa ekspresif anak Down Syndrome di SLB Sidoarjo dimana dalam penelitian ini terdapat 8 kali intervensi dan ditemukan peningkatan rata- rata raw score dari 13,67 menjadi 25,83 dengan nilai p (Sig.) sebesar 0.001. Hal ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap pemberian Story Grammar Marker ini dan dapat diartikan bahwa Ha diterima

Abstract

Pragmatik merupakan suatu kemampuan anak berupa memberikan respon saat bersosialisasi dan menggunakan bahasa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Perkembangan kemampuan pragmatik berperan penting dalam proses komunikasi yang berhubungan dengan aspek linguistik. Penelitian mengenai kemampuan bahasa pragmatik di Indonesia masih jarang ditemukan sehingga penulis tertarik melakukan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kemampuan pragmatik pada anak usia prasekolah di Surakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dan menggunakan metode cross sectional dengan pendekatan korelatif untuk menganalisis hubungan yang bersifat sebab-akibat menggunakan uji hipotesis kendall tau. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 105 anak dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa standar norma kemampuan pragmatik anak dapat dibagi menjadi kategori kurang X < 12, kategori cukup 13 ? X < 18, kategori baik X > 18. Adanya hubungan penggunaan bahasa dengan kemampuan pragmatik yang menyatakan hasil nilai p = 0.001 (?0.05), sehingga hipotesis alternatif diterima. Hasil lain juga ditemukan bahwa adanya hubungan pendidikan orang tua dengan kemampuan pragmatik anak yang menyatakan hasil nilai p = 0.012 (<0.05), sehingga hipotesis alternatif diterima.

Abstract

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects an individual's social, communication, and behavioral abilities. According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the prevalence of ASD in the United States is approximately 1 in 44 children (CDC, 2021). Objectives: To analyze pragmatic abilities in children with ASD and learning materials for scientific research writing, while also providing additional information regarding pragmatic abilities in children with ASD. Methods: This study is a systematic review. This study uses data from previous studies. A quantitative systematic review combines findings from various independent studies and produces a statistical summary of those findings (Last, 2001 in Murti, 2018). Results: Children with ASD exhibit a continuous state of language difficulties, with social communication skills being a significant issue. Conclusion: Semantic-pragmatic communication skills constitute a core impairment in the narratives of children with ASD. pragmatic aids and deficits in global executive function when compared to children with typical development. Abstract

Background: Voice disorders are pathological conditions that can manifest as changes in voice quality, pitch discrepancies, loudness, or phonation difficulties that affect effective communication. These disorders are often associated with vocal hyperfunction, which is the excessive and inefficient use of the laryngeal muscles, which can then lead to vocal fatigue, hoarseness, and decreased phonation. Professionals such as radio announcers are at higher risk of developing voice disorders than the general population due to repeated and prolonged increased vocal load without voice control, especially if proper vocal hygiene is not practiced. However, research on methods to address voice problems specific to radio announcers, particularly the yawn-sigh method, has been limited. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of the yawn-sigh method in addressing voice problems in radio announcers. Method: A quantitative experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design with an intervention in the form of yawn-sigh therapy with 12 sessions. The study population was all radio announcers experiencing voice problems in Surakarta. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, resulting in a sample size of 10 participants. The study used the GRBAS questionnaire to measure voice problems before and after the intervention. The analysis used univariate and bivariate Wilcoxon tests to determine comparative hypotheses before and after the intervention with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: A total of 10 participants, most of whom were radio announcers who experienced voice problems at the age of 20-24 years and 6 (60%) were male participants. Voice problems in radio announcers before the intervention were obtained in 9 participants (90%) in the moderate category and 1 participant (10%) in the severe category. While voice problems in radio announcers after the intervention were carried out, 10 participants (100%) were in the mild category. The Wilcoxon statistical test that was carried out after and before the intervention using the yawning method obtained p = 0.005 (<0.05), so that Hₐ (alternative hypothesis) was accepted. Conclusion: The intervention using the yawn sigh method was effective in reducing voice problems among radio announcers.   Keywords: Radio Announcers; Voice Problems; Yawn Sigh.   Pendahuluan: Gangguan suara merupakan kondisi patologis yang dapat muncul sebagai perubahan kualitas suara, ketidaksesuaian pitch, kenyaringan, atau kesulitan fonasi yang memengaruhi efektivitas komunikasi. Gangguan ini sering berkaitan dengan hiperfungsi vokal, yakni penggunaan otot laring secara berlebihan dan tidak efisien, yang kemudian dapat menimbulkan kelelahan vokal, suara serak, dan penurunan kualitas fonasi. Profesional seperti penyiar radio memiliki risiko lebih tinggi mengalami gangguan suara dibandingkan populasi umum karena peningkatan beban vokal yang berulang dan berkepanjangan tanpa pengontrolan suara, terutama bila higiene vokal tidak dilakukan secara tepat. Namun, penelitian mengenai metode untuk mengatasi permasalahan suara khusus pada penyiar radio belum banyak dilakukan, terutama metode yawn sigh. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode yawn sigh dalam mengatasi permasalahan suara pada penyiar radio. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen one group pretest-posttest design dengan intervensi berupa terapi metode yawn sigh dengan 12x pertemuan. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh penyiar radio yang mengalami permasalahan suara di Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, sehingga besar sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 10 partisipan. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner GRBAS sebagai alat ukur permasalahan suara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu univariat dan bivariat uji Wilcoxon untuk mengetahui hipotesis komparatif sebelum dan sesudah intervensi dengan tingkat signifikansi α = 0.05 Hasil: Sebanyak 10 partisipan, mayoritas penyiar radio yang mengalami permasalahan suara pada berusia 20-24 tahun dan berjenis kelamin laki-laki sebanyak 6 (60%) partisipan. Permasalahan suara pada penyiar radio sebelum dilakukan intervensi diperoleh 9 partisipan (90%) berada pada kategori sedang dan 1 partisipan (10%) berada pada kategori berat. Sedangkan permasalahan suara pada penyiar radio sesudah dilakukan intervensi, diperoleh 10 partisipan (100%) berada pada kategori ringan. Uji statistik Wilcoxon yang telah dilakukan sesudah dan sebelum intervensi menggunakan metode yawn sigh didapatkan p = 0.005 (< 0.05), sehingga Hₐ (hipotesis alternatif) diterima. Simpulan: Intervensi menggunakan metode yawn sigh efektif dalam mengurangi permasalahan suara pada penyiar radio.   Kata Kunci: Penyiar Radio; Permasalahan Suara; Yawn Sigh.

Abstract

Gangguan pendengaran pada anak memengaruhi perkembangan bahasa sehingga membutuhkan deteksi dini, akses alat bantu, dan intervensi tepat. Terapis wicara berperan dalam rehabilitasi auditori, termasuk penerapan Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan mendengar dan berbicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi terapis wicara mengenai efektivitas metode AVT dalam memperbaiki kemampuan komunikasi anak dengan gangguan pendengaran. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif untuk menggambarkan persepsi terapis wicara terhadap AVT di Jawa Tengah. Sampel dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner sebagai instrumen utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terapis wicara di Jawa Tengah memiliki persepsi positif terhadap Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT). AVT dianggap efektif meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi anak pada skor rata-rata 3.8 sampai 4.2, dengan keterlibatan orang tua sebagai faktor pendukung utama dengan rata – rata 4.45. Namun, pelatihan formal masih kurang, karena hanya 44% terapis yang pernah mengikutinya. Secara keseluruhan, AVT dinilai membantu perkembangan bahasa anak dengan gangguan pendengaran. Penelitian menunjukkan terapis wicara memiliki persepsi sangat positif terhadap AVT, menilai metode ini efektif meningkatkan komunikasi anak dan didukung pemahaman baik tentang tahapannya.
