Abstract

Quality Control is very important in efforts to minimize the number of defective products. One of them is in small and medium businesses in the Kerudung Micro Small And Medium Enterprises in Sukowati Bungah Village, Gresik District, Gresik Regency. This Micro Small And Medium Enterprises owned by Ms. Hj difficultiawati. The purpose of this research is to analyze the defects of veil products by using the Six Sigma method namely DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analuze, Improve, Control). The results of this study indicate that the company has a total number of disability veils of 225 units consisting of untidy edge trimming, creased fabric, holes in the veil fabric, less neat screen printing, inappropriate colors. In the process of making this veil there is a value of the damage ratio on goods by calculating the upper control limit (UCL) of 134.9761 and the Lower Control Limit (LCL) of 73.6899 and the average damage to the CL veil of 104.3333 currently at level 1 sigma so that improvements need to be made to achieve level 6 sigma. Using the Pareto diagram tool and for quality improvement improvements were made to the veil disability with SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer).

Abstract

Maintaining the quality of transportation services and reducing operational costs are some of the problems in shipping companies. This problem can be solved by several solutions. One of them is a reliable machine alarm monitoring and operation system. This study aims to provide a practical design of the ship's auxiliary engine start-stop control system and alarm system. This study uses an experimental method with a descriptive explanation of the observations. The test results show that this system is able to provide a simple, inexpensive, and efficient engine alarm system design to develop this technology for shipping companies. The PLC used is suitable for controlling this system because of its fast response. In addition, the utilized HMI can communicate efficiently with the monitoring system showing the machine parameter interface directly. Direct application of the system has been created provides technology development solutions for monitoring and controlling systems auxiliary machines for shipping companies to reduce operational cost

Abstract

Banyu urip is one of the many villages in the north sea of Gresik. The main livelihood of community is fisherman. To bring it to life, the fisherman need decent fishing boats that is suitable for their age. The fishing boats in Banyu urip are 6-8 years old on average. The fishing boat use fishing nets and gears, and the main catch is shellfish and some other fish. In a year, fisherman can sail up to 200 trips. To develop that potential, an economic analysis need to be done related to the benefits of fishing boats for fisherman around the Banyu urip. The purpose of this research is to find out the initial investment costs, the expenses in one trip, average income of fisherman in a year and payback period of the investment. This research was conducted in several stages, calculate ship procurement costs, operational cost in one trip and also variable cost, so that expenses and income can be known. The next step is analysis of profitability and investment payback period. Based on the results of analysis and calculation, the investment value of the ship is obtained, the price, equipment, and engine of ship are 70 million rupias. Expenses in a year, fuel cost, lubricating oil cost, provision fees, ship repair cost and also depreciation expense are 27,399,101 rupias. The income of fishing boats are 62,266,666 rupias/year with 13.37 % Internal Rate of Return and the payback period is 1.6 years. Key Words: Economical, Fisherman, Fish Boat, Banyu Urip

Abstract

Quality control is a technique used to control, manage manufacturing processes and services by analyzing, managing and improving products using statistical methods. This study aims to determine the cause of defects in production by providing suggestions for improvement in the process of making a veil. The steps of this research procedure are carried out several stages including moving average, exponential smoothing, define, measure, analyze, improve, control. The results of this research show that the defect of hood products is not neat stitching, the fabric used is wrinkled, there are holes in the veil fabric, ink on the color is not suitable when printing, the environment is less conducive so workers are less focused when working. For the results of calculations from six sigma obtained Defect per Million Opportunity value obtained a value of 1916.33 and a sigma value of 4.391.ABSTRAK Pengendalian kualitas merupakan teknik yang digunakan untuk mengendalikan, mengelola proses manufaktur maupun jasa dengan menganalisis, mengelola dan memperbaiki produk dengan menggunakan metode statistik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persediaan bahan baku dengan menggunakan metode peramalan, serta menentukan jumlah permintaan kebutuhan, mengetahui penyebab terjadinya cacat pada produksi dengan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada proses pembuatan kerudung. Langkah prosedur penelitian ini dilakukan beberapa tahapan antara lain moving average, exponential smoothing, define, measure, analyze, improve, control. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan jenis defect produk kerudung antara lain jahitan kurang rapi, kain yang digunakan kusut, terdapat lubang pada kain kerudung, tinta pada warna tidak sesuai saat cetak, lingkungan yang kurang kondusif sehingga pekerja kurang fokus saat bekerja. Untuk hasil dari perhitungan dari six sigma didapatkan nilai Defect per Million Opportunity diperoleh nilai sebesar 1916,33 dan nilai sigma sebesar 4,391. Kata kunci : metode six sigma; SIPOC; peramalan; fishbone; 5W-1H

Abstract

Main engine failure will damage engine systems, reduce navigation safety, and cause serious marine accidents. The cooling system is very important to prevent the engine's mechanical efficiency from deteriorating and engine failure due to overheating. Therefore, a monitoring and error detection system is needed. The system is based on the Modbus RS485 communication and interface. The collection equipment uses components from the 7S-50MC diesel engine. PLC is used as processing equipment and Logic Panel Autonics S070 is used as an interface. Through these tests, error detection in this study can provide an indication of an error when an abnormal situation occurs. In addition, data monitoring and system fault indication can be displayed on the interface. Testing of the system proved that it complies with the Indonesian Shipping Bureau (BKI) regulations on engine warning systems. The research developed can form the basis of more complex and reliable monitoring and fault detection system for applications on ships.

Abstract

Drillship is a floating structure that functions as a drill that can move from one point to another. The movement of the drillship from one point to another will cause a spectral response. With a certain speed, the spectral response that occurs in the drillship will cause the slamming phenomenon. This journal aims to determine the strength of the local structure at the bow of the 35000 ton drillship due to slamming loads. The analysis is carried out using the finite element method. The loads used in this analysis are dynamic loads of shear forces and bending moments that occur in the local structure of the bow at the FP station by adding forces due to pressure slamming. The analysis of the ultimate strength of the structure is based on ASTM 897 and ASTM A852 metal materials. The results of the analysis show that the local structure at the bow of the drillship collapses at a significant wave height (Hs) of about 11 m, which is 716 MPa for the ASTM A852 metal material type.

Abstract

Kurangnya ketersediaan air bersih di Dusun Sungai Geneng, Desa Pelang, Kecamatan Kembangbahu, Kabupaten Lamongan dapat menyebabkan warga mudah terserang penyakit. Oleh karena itu, perlu diadakan acara sosialisasi kepada masyarakat untuk memperoleh wawasan tentang air bersih dan sosialisasi cara penggunaan alat filter agar dapat memakai dan mengkonsumsi air bersih dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Beberapa acara yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu: Pertama, survei pengamatan dan analisis kondisi lapangan terhadap kondisi air sumur dan telaga yang ada di masyarakat lingkungan Dusun Sungai Geneng tersebut. Kedua, sosialisasi kepada masyarakat untuk memperoleh wawasan tentang air bersih dan sosialisasi cara penggunaan alat filter. Ketiga, pelatihan perawatan alat filter air dan tangki penampungan air bersih kepada masyarakat. Bedasarkan hasil analisis, antusias warga dalam mengikuti acara pengabdian masyarakat ini dikarenakan beberapa hal. Diantaranya adalah banyak warga yang mudah terserang penyakit karena adanya penggunaan air yang kurang bersih, kurangnya pengetahuan tentang air bersih, dan belum mengetahui cara merawat alat filter air dengan baik sehingga alat tersebut tidak mampu bertahan lebih lama dan air yang mengalir ke dalam tangki menjadi cepat kotor.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang ditetapkan oleh WHO pada tanggal 9 maret 2020 merupakan dorongan terkuat program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan. Sektor ekonomi, sosial, dan pendidikan pun terdampak akibat pandemi Covid-19, khususnya di Indonesia. Sebelum vaksin atau terapi pengobatan ditemukan untuk melawan Covid-19, masyarakan hanya bisa melakukan pencegahan pemutusan rantai penyebaran virus dengan memahami dan melaksanakan protokol kesehatan yang dianjurkan pemerintah. Anjuran pemerintah untuk menerapkan pola hidup bersih dan tetap dirumah berdampak pada sebagian kelompok masyarakat untuk membeli bahan pokok dan alat kesehatan khususnya masker dan hand sanitizer dengan berlebihan. Pembelian dalam jumlah masif menyebabkan ketersediaan barang tersebut menjadi sedikit sehingga mengakibatkan harga jual menjadi mahal. Sesuai dengan permasalahan tersebut, “Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat PPNS” melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa Pelatihan Pembuatan Hand Sanitizer di lingkungan SMK Negeri 4 Surabaya dalam menyikapi Pandemi Covid-19 untuk sekolah berkelanjutan. Metode dalam penelitian ini dengan cara observasi dan sosialisasi tetang wabah pandemi Covid-19 terhadap Kepala Sekolah, Guru serta Karyawan SMK Negeri 4 Surabaya, yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan pelatihan secara offline dan daring. Kegiatan ini diakhiri dengan evaluasi kegiatan serta memberikan rekomendasi sarana sekolah untuk memutus penyebaran rantai Covid-19.  Pelatian ini berdampak positif terhadap lingkungan SMK Negeri 4 Surabaya, perubahan ini terlihat dari protokol kesehatan yang berlaku di sekolah, serta dari segi ekonomi dapat menekan alokasi dana untuk pembelian produk hand sanitizer.

Abstract

The demand for environmentally friendly materials has driven the utilization of natural fiber–based biocomposites as an alternative engineering material. This study aims to optimize the injection molding process parameters of polypropylene (PP)–sisal fiber biocomposites with the aid of maleic anhydride polypropylene (MAPP) as a compatibilizer. The research scope covers the effect of process parameter variations on the mechanical properties, particularly impact strength. The composite material consists of 85% PP, 10% sisal fiber, and 5% MAPP, which were extruded into pellets prior to processing using an injection molding machine. Optimization was carried out using the Taguchi method with an L9 (3⁴) orthogonal array design. Four main parameters were investigated: barrel temperature (200°C, 210°C, 220 °C), injection pressure (50 bar, 55 bar, 60 bar), holding pressure (40 bar, 45 bar, 50 bar), and injection velocity (60 mm/s, 65 mm/s, 70 mm/s). The response variable was impact strength (kJ/m²) according to ASTM D256-04 standards, while other parameters were kept constant. Data were analyzed using the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (S/N ratio) with the “larger-the-better” criterion to obtain the optimum condition. The results showed that the optimum parameter combination A1B3C3D2 (200 °C, 60 bar, 50 bar, 65 mm/s) provided the best response, as this combination yielded the highest Signal-to-Noise ratio with a more stable impact performance. Under these conditions, the material flowed well into the mold, fiber distribution was uniform, and stronger bonding occurred between fiber and matrix, thereby enhancing the mechanical properties.

Abstract

Salah satu perusahaan minyak dan gas bertujuan untuk mengganti jaringan pipa yang ada di wilayah kerja Brantas dikarenakan umur pemakaian sudah hampir melebihi umur desain dan harus diganti dengan desain baru, sehingga diperlukan pigging pemeliharaan dan perawatan pipeline agar memiliki lifetime yang cukup lama dengan alat untuk pigging berupa pig launcher. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut diperlukan desain pig launcher dengan design pressure sebesar 680 psig dan design temperature sebesar 200 ˚F yang disimulasikan dengan finite element methode dengan memperhatikan beban pipeline pada pig launcher. Hasil analisis menghasilkan equivalent von mises pada kondisi hydrotest 30226 psi, operating 35704 psi, sustained 30178 psi, expansion 33833 psi dan maximum shear stress pada kondisi hydrotest 15381 psi, operating 17985 psi, sustained 15364 psi, expansion 17043 psi dan total deformation pada kondisi hydrotest 0,077553 inch, operating 0,10245 inch, sustained 0,077695 inch, expansion 0,10094 inch dimana nilai tersebut yakni  equivalent von mises, maximum shear stress dan total deformation masih dibawah allowable sehingga desain dapat diterima berdasarkan ASME VIII Divisi I.
