Abstract

The government has implemented the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) program through promotion of the pharmaceutical sector related to drug storage at home. However, there are still many problems in storing household medicines in the community. This activity was carried out through a community empowerment approach using the community capacity building method for a community organization, Aisyiyah, which consists of Muslim women in the Grendeng village, Purwokerto. This activity ws carried out in stages, namely pre-test methods, lectures, group teaching, self-empowerment through peer teaching and training, and measuring the success of activities using post-tests. Based on the whole series of activities, the knowledge of partners about storing medicines at home has increased in a good category.

Abstract

Hari pertama, responden melakukan RJP lalu dihitung kecepatan RJP responden. Hari ke-2, ke-3 dan ke-4 responden mendengarkan lagu baby shark sekaligus melihat video RJP. Kemudian responden melakukan RJP setelah mendengarkan lagu.

Abstract

Background: Air pollution is a foreign material or substance in the air that causes changes in the composition of the air from its normal state. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless and odorless gas that can be dangerous if inhaled in large quantities. Sources of CO gas in the air include motor vehicles, as well as household items such as heaters that use kerosene and gas stoves. Carbon monoxide will replace oxygen in red blood cells, which can increase carboxyhemoglobin levels in the blood. Street vendors are people who sell goods and services in public spaces, especially on sidewalks or road shoulders, so they are at risk of being exposed to CO gas continuously. Method : This study uses an observational approach with a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study were street vendors on roads that are frequently passed by vehicles and rarely passed by vehicles as many as 30 samples, with a purposive sampling method. Results : CO levels in locations frequently passed by vehicles were 13 ppm while in places rarely passed by vehicles were 11 ppm and had an average COHb level of respondents in locations frequently passed by vehicles of 0.64% while in respondents in locations rarely passed by vehicles of 0.49%. Conclusion : There is a significant difference between COHb levels in street vendors on roads frequently and rarely passed by vehicles in the Purbalingga area, as evidenced by the Independent T Test result value of p = 0.010 (<0.05). There is a relationship between carbon monoxide levels and COHb levels in street vendors in the Purbalingga area, as evidenced by a p value of 0.001 (p <0.05). The Spearman correlation value of 0.555 indicates a strong relationship. Keywords : Air Pollution, carboxyhemoglobin (COHb), Carbon Monoxide, Street Vendors

Abstract

The social support is increasingly accepted as an important factor that influences the wellness of a human being, particularly people with chronic diseases. This study translates and validates the quantitative questionnaire that has been developed and has been widely accepted across cultures, namely the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). The study was initially performed by translating the original questionnaire using forward and backward translation methods. Thirty cancer patients from Margono public hospital Purwokerto, Indonesia were conveniently included to evaluate the transleted questionmaire’s cconvergent, discriminant validity. Furthermore, 45 cancer patients were included in the main study which evaluate the level of social support among cancer patients. According to factor analysis, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy showed that the results is valid (0.668) while the Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity also showed that the number of samples were adequate (0.668) and eligible for factor analysis. The Measures of Sampling adequacy from each question was considerably higher than 0.5 and therefore there were no translated question that has to be removed in the analysis. There were 3 out of 12 factors that was included with the total variance of 81.166%. The Pearson’s correlation and Cronbach Alpha tests showed that discriminant validity and reliability test of the translated questionnaire were valid (>0.400) and reliable (>0.700) questionnaire. The translated version of the MSPSS was considerably a valid and reliable questionnaire to evaluate the level of social support for cancer patients in Indonesia.

Methods: This study is retrospective, employing purposive sampling for data collection. The data were extracted from the medical records of patients diagnosed with pre-eclampsia at the Inpatient Installation. The sample consisted of 212 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of pre-eclampsia. Results: From this study, it was found that antihypertensive medications given were methyldopa (52.8%), nifedipine (45.2%), and amlodipine (2%). It was found that the results of the five appropriate analyses were the suitable indication, right patient, proper medication, right dose, and correct route (100%). The antihypertensive medications used were effective in reducing the blood pressure of preeclampsia patients (100%), with an average decrease in systolic pressure by 37 mmHg, an average decrease in diastolic pressure by 22 mmHg, and an average decrease in MAP by 28 mmHg. Conclusion: Antihypertensives given to preeclampsia patients in several public and private hospitals in Banyumas were rational and effective in reducing the patient's blood pressure.
