Abstract

As the organizer of the realization of social welfare, the state has not been able to optimally overcome social changes, which have an impact on increasing the number and complexity of social welfare problems. With the arguments of humanity and the principle of mutual cooperation, some parties help the government, then are called social workers. To ensure their existence, social worker organizations in Indonesia initiated the formation of the Law on the Social Worker Profession. Law Number 14 of 2019 concerning Social Workers was formed. After the birth of this Law, some questions emerged whether the Law provided solutions to the problems faced by social workers in assisting social welfare, or with this Law, the state would be out of hand and emphasize the resolution of social problems to social workers. This study described the legal political conditions for forming this Law. This study answered the politics of the formation of Law Number 14 of 2019 and the challenges for Social Workers in Indonesia after the birth of the Law. Answering those problems, this study used—statute approach, historical approach, and conceptual approach, strengthened by some literature related to Law and social workers. Besides that, this study also used protection theory to assess the Law. This study also compared some regulations in some countries regarding social workers in some cases. In short, this study found that the strong historical background, the long existence of social workers in Indonesia, and the need for legal protection and certainty have become the reason for establishing Law No. 14, 2019. However, after the birth of the Law, challenges arose for social workers where their actualization was not easy and limited according to their profession and education. In addition, it is alleged that the Law could lead to malpractice because there are no sanctions. While in Australia, and USA, social worker laws give more space for social worker.

Abstract

Kaliwungu is a sub-district in Kendal Regency, Central Java Province. This area has various local wisdom and traditions that have been carried out for generations, including the "weh-wehan" tradition. The weh-wehan ceremony commemorates the maulid of the Prophet Muhammad Saw. as a gratitude for the birth of the role model and messenger of Allah Swt. This paper examines the weh-wehan tradition in Kaliwungu using a living hadith approach and a functional, structural approach. The results show that the "weh-wehan" tradition is an activity of giving food or goods to each other. Weh-wehan comes from the Javanese language, which means giving each other. The weh-wehan ceremony is held every 11th of Rabiul Awal and is carried out by exchanging food or goods. This tradition contains elements of social solidarity full of meaning: sharing enjoyment, fostering mutual respect and affection, strengthening brotherhood, and sharing happiness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of food estates in improving community welfare from an agrarian reform perspective. Additionally, it seeks to identify the obstacles to implementing food estates in enhancing community welfare. A food estate aims to achieve food security for improving community welfare. In Bansari Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency, Indonesia, the Food Estate program utilizes existing land for horticulture without opening new land. However, in a broader context, several issues regarding this program have led to it being considered less implementable and potentially contradictory to the concept of welfare from an agrarian reform perspective. Answering the problem, this field study employed an empirical legal approach and theories of natural resource management, legal benefit theory, and welfare theory. The results show that implementing food estates in Bansari District, Temanggung, has improved community welfare from an agrarian reform perspective. One of the reasons for the program's success is that it is targeted and does not open new land, taking into account aspects of nature conservation and sustainability of benefits for farmer groups. The challenges faced by the food estate in Bansari District, Temanggung Regency, include internal conflicts among farmer groups due to poor communication, imbalances in the implementation of the food estate program, and a lack of information regarding data on farmer groups receiving subsidies from the food estate program.

Abstract

Indonesian president-elect, Prabowo Subianto, has emphasized his vision through Astacita, continuing President Joko Widodo’s Nawacita concept. The primary focus is on village development and community economic empowerment to reduce inequality and poverty. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing legal data, regulations, and philosophical, political, and economic perspectives related to Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). The main objective is to explore the urgency of revitalizing BUMDes to encourage village development, improve the local economy, and align with policies aimed at fostering community-based welfare.  The Village Law strengthens the role of villages in development, with BUMDes acting as a key driver of the village economy. However, BUMDes faces challenges in management and competitiveness. To address this, revitalization and collaboration are necessary to increase productivity, leverage local potential, and support community welfare. The government must enhance policies, improve management capacity, and protect BUMDes from harmful competition. Digitalization and synergy between villages also present solutions to bolster the village economy in the Industry 4.0 era.  BUMDes plays a crucial role in boosting the village economy based on local potential, but participatory, transparent, and professional management is essential for its independent development. Strengthening subsidiarity and village authority accelerates sustainable development, in line with global trends in enhancing local governance and village economic autonomy. The revitalization of BUMDes is a key strategy for improving the village economy through the optimization of village funds and digitalization. Addressing management challenges requires enhanced capacity for village officials, strict supervision, and inclusive policies to foster sustainable economic growth and community welfare

Abstract

Abstract: Several studies have highlighted the importance of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in reducing public speaking anxiety. The studies also denote the increase of confidence by strengthening self-efficacy. This study explores previous studies that uncover the use of CBT in dealing with public anxiety to identify its potential as part of multicultural counseling for international students in higher education. International students have different academic and learning cultures, as well as social environments, affecting the development of certain anxiety in dealing with pressures to adapt to new environments. Therefore, it positions the investigation of CBT’s ability to reduce public speaking anxiety for international students as highly essential. This study contends that CBT is a useful technique to unpack irrational fear of speaking in public and promote self-efficacy, developing confidence and leading to good mental health. However, given the nature of targeted intervention are international students, multicultural counseling competencies are undoubtedly required for the therapy.

Abstract

Located in Kembang Subdistrict, Jepara Regency, Dudakawu Village possesses significant economic potential. However, its development is hindered by challenges such as inadequate entrepreneurial skills, ineffective marketing strategies, and limited access to digital technology. To overcome these issues, the PPK Ormawa Team of the Student Executive Board from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Unisnu Jepara initiated the "Entrepreneurial Village" program as a community service project. The program aims to improve entrepreneurial skills, enhance the competitiveness of local products, and broaden market access through digital transformation. This initiative utilized several strategies, including entrepreneurship workshops, the establishment of UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) groups, product branding training, digital marketing education, and the development of innovative products. Activities were carried out through a collaborative approach involving academics, students, local authorities, and the community. Periodic evaluations were conducted using pre- and post-activity questionnaires, interviews, and direct observations to measure the program’s effectiveness in enhancing community skills and business activities. The findings reveal that more than 70% of participants improved their knowledge of entrepreneurship and digital marketing. The UMKM community established during the program served as a collaborative platform for local entrepreneurs, while products such as banana stem chips and the village’s specialty coffee gained added value and greater competitiveness in regional markets through branding and digital marketing efforts. This program has contributed significantly to sustainable, community-driven economic empowerment and offers a replicable model for other villages.

There must be a resolution so that the disagreement does not last for a long time; one option is to adopt the concept of ummatan wasathan, or people in the middle. This study is a library research article using a descriptive analysis approach. The essential data is in the form of wasthan terms in interpreting An-Nur, al-Azhar, and Al-Misbah. The following are the study's findings: According to An-Nur's interpretation, ummatan wasathan are the best-chosen people because they are fair, balanced, not overly religious, and do not lack in worship. Then, according to Al-Azhar's interpretation, ummatan wasathan are those who are in the middle, who do not lean towards the world or the hereafter, who always take the straight path, and who are not mainly concerned with the spiritual and forget the physical.
