Abstract

Smartphone merupakan telepon seluler masa kini yang dilengkapi aksesinternet dan aplikasi dari pihak ketiga yang menarik. Penggunaansmartphone yang berlebihan dapat menjadikan penggunanya mengalamismartphone addiction. Peningkatan pesat penggunaan smartphone diIndonesia memerlukan suatu skala ukur yang sudah tervalidasi untukmelakukan penilaian sehingga prevalensi dan individu yang berisikomengalami smartphone addiction dapat diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas Smartphone Addiction Scalesehingga diharapkan dapat digunakan untuk penelitian berikutnya.Smartphone addiction scale orisinil dilakukan alih bahasa ke dalam BahasaIndonesia dan dilakukan modifikasi item menjadi favorable dan unfavorablelalu diujicobakan pada 65 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi UniversitasMahasaraswati Denpasar. Hasilnya dari 33 item pernyataan smartphoneaddiction scale orisinil menghasilkan 21 item pernyataan valid dengan nilaikoefisien korelasi item total yang berkisar dari 0,282 sampai 0,802 dan nilaikoefisien Cronbach Alpha 0,890. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, ModifikasiSmartphone Addiction Scale versi Bahasa Indonesia merupakan skala yangvalid dan reliabel sehingga skala self reporting ini dapat digunakan untukskrining individu yang memiliki risiko smartphone addiction. Abstract

Background: Smartphone is a mobile phone with operating system and internet access that has many functions and can be helpful for medical clerkship students to finish their assignments and as well as an entertainment media. Excessive and uncontrolled use of smartphone may lead to smartphone addiction. Depression and anxiety might correlate with smartphone addiction. The goal of this study was to determine the correlation of depression and anxiety with smartphone addiction among medical clerkship students in Bali province. Materials and Methods: The research was an observational non-experimental study with cross sectional design, and descriptive analytic analysis. Samples were obtained by systematic sampling. Instruments used were the Modified Smartphone Addiction Scale Indonesian version and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42). Data were analyzed by Spearman’s test then simple regression analysis for anxiety and smartphone addiction because depression did not fulfill assumption test. Results: A number of 100 samples were analyzed. Depression was positively correlated to smartphone addiction (r=0.542, p <0.001). Anxiety was positively correlated to smartphone addiction (r=0.598, p <0.001). Simple regression analysis showed a value of R=0.591 (p <0.001) and as such anxiety played role on smartphone addiction. A determination coefficient of 0.349 showed the effective role of anxiety on smartphone addiction was 34.9% whereas the remaining 75.1% was determined by another variable that were not investigated on this study. Conclusion: There was a significant positive relationship with the strength of a moderate relationship between depression and anxiety with smartphone addiction.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on various sectors of life, including the world of education in Indonesia Online learning is one of the developments that occur in the field of education. This condition can affect the stress level of students. Previous studies have reported that there is a link between emotional intelligence and stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and stress levels of students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Warmadewa University during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is an analytic study with a cross sectional design. The sample of this study were 106 students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Warmadewa University. This survey revealed, out of 106 respondents, 67.9% had high emotional intelligence and 32.1% students with low emotional level. Analysis of stress levels obtained 59.4% of students classified as normal and 40.6% classified as stressed. Statistical analysis shows that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and stress levels with a p value <0.05 and an OR of 2.675. These results indicate that respondents who have low emotional intelligence are 2 times more likely to experience stress than respondents who have high emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Humans have two main needs, namely physiological and psychological needs. Physiological needs include eating, drinking and sleeping which are important for health and well-being. Sleep quality can be disturbed by excessive use of social media, especially in adolescents. To explore the relationship between the intensity of social media use and sleep quality, a study was conducted on students of SMA Negeri 1 Denpasar. This study involved 381 respondents, using a cross-sectional study design with data collection using the PSQI questionnaire to evaluate sleep quality and a questionnaire on the intensity of social media use. The results showed that most of the respondents were 16 years old (30.7%) and the average age was 16.5 years. The sex of the most respondents was female with a total of 207 people (54.3%). Most of the respondents with low intensity of using social media were 191 people (50.1%) and respondents with high intensity were 190 people (49.9%). The majority of respondents had poor sleep quality as many as 240 people (63.0%) and the rest had good sleep quality as many as 141 people (37.0%). The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between the intensity of social media use and the quality of sleep in students of SMA Negeri 1 Denpasar (p=0.157) which may be caused by the influence of other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-180 (MMPI-180) test is used to get a picture of the personality of a drug addiction client. The severity of the client's addiction is evaluated through the Addiction Severity Index (ASI). This study aims to see the relationship between the client's personality and the problem domain in ASI to the severity of client addiction. The research design is cross-sectional research with a retrospective approach. The research sample was all clients who underwent Inpatient Drug Medical Rehabilitation from January 2021 to December 2021 by the inclusion and exclusion criteria and then analyzed statistically univariate and correlatable bivariate. The research sample was 37 male clients with an average hospitalization day of 84 days. All clients underwent an assessment with an ASI form for 6 domains. The average level of problems in the medical domain was 1.75, the occupational domain was 3.18, the drug addiction domain was 4.08, the legal aspect domain was 1.32, the family domain was 2.27, and the clinical psychiatry domain was 2.54. The client's personality profile obtained an average score of 52 overall positive intelligence quotient, and there was an overview of higher order, restructured clinical, potential psychological function, and psychopathology. A significant moderate relationship was found between the family problem domain and drug addiction severity with r: 0.429 (p: 0.008). There is a significant moderate relationship between the domain of family problems and the severity of drug addiction of clients undergoing drug medical rehabilitation at the Bali Provincial Mental Hospital. ABSTRAKTes Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-180 (MMPI-180) digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang kepribadian klien kecanduan narkoba. Tingkat keparahan kecanduan klien dievaluasi melalui Addiction Severity Index (ASI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara kepribadian klien dan domain masalah dalam ASI terhadap keparahan kecanduan klien. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian potong lintang dengan pendekatan retrospektif. Sampel penelitian adalah semua klien yang menjalani Rehabilitasi Medis Narkoba Rawat Inap dari Januari 2021 hingga Desember 2021 berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, kemudian dianalisis secara statistik univariat dan bivariat yang dapat dikorelasikan. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 37 klien laki-laki dengan rata-rata hari dirawat inap sebanyak 84 hari. Semua klien menjalani penilaian dengan formulir ASI untuk 6 domain. Rata-rata tingkat masalah pada domain medis adalah 1,75, domain pekerjaan adalah 3,18, domain kecanduan narkoba adalah 4,08, domain aspek hukum adalah 1,32, domain keluarga adalah 2,27, dan domain psikiatri klinis adalah 2,54. Profil kepribadian klien memperoleh rata-rata skor 52 pada indeks kecerdasan positif secara keseluruhan, dengan gambaran tentang fungsi psikologis yang terstruktur ulang, potensi, dan psikopatologi. Ditemukan hubungan moderat yang signifikan antara domain masalah keluarga dan keparahan kecanduan narkoba dengan r: 0,429 (p: 0,008). Terdapat hubungan moderat yang signifikan antara domain masalah keluarga dan keparahan kecanduan narkoba klien yang menjalani rehabilitasi medis narkoba di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Bali.

Abstract

The Omed-Omedan tradition is a unique cultural practice originating from Banjar Kaja, Denpasar, Bali. Held annually the day after Nyepi, this tradition involves young men and women in a ritual of mutual pulling, believed to strengthen communal bonds and foster community mental resilience. This study aims to explore the psychiatric aspects of the Omed-Omedan tradition, highlighting the social, emotional, and spiritual impacts of participation in this activity. Beyond fostering closeness among residents, the tradition serves as a means for individuals to develop self-control, identity, and maturity. A holistic cultural psychiatry approach is applied to understand the tradition's influence on participants' mental health. ABSTRAKTradisi Omed-Omedan merupakan salah satu tradisi unik yang berasal dari Banjar Kaja, Denpasar, Bali. Dilaksanakan sehari setelah Hari Raya Nyepi, tradisi ini melibatkan pemuda-pemudi dalam ritual tarik-menarik yang diyakini dapat mempererat kebersamaan dan menguatkan mentalitas komunitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi aspek psikiatri yang terdapat dalam tradisi Omed-Omedan, serta menyoroti dampak sosial, emosional, dan spiritual dari partisipasi dalam kegiatan ini. Tradisi ini tidak hanya menciptakan kedekatan antarwarga tetapi juga melatih pengendalian diri serta menumbuhkan identitas dan kedewasaan pada pesertanya. Pendekatan psikiatri budaya yang holistik diterapkan untuk memahami pengaruh tradisi ini terhadap kesehatan mental peserta.
