Abstract

This study examines and analyzes the significant positive effect of job satisfaction and motivation on employee performance mediated by informal learning. The population of this study was employees of the Ministry of Health who worked in the Bengkulu Province based on the Ministry of Health Polytechnic and the Class III Port Office of Bengkulu Province. The number of respondents amounted to 100 people. The study was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with PLS 3 analysis tool. Based on the research conducted, we found that job satisfaction had a significant positive effect on informal learning and employee performance directly. On the other hand, motivation positively affects performance, although it cannot affect performance. In addition, informal learning can also positively impact improving performance directly. However, informal learning cannot mediate job satisfaction and motivation in improving employee performance in the mediating relationship. This study provides implications for informal learning through informal discussions in the form of constructive feedback between leaders as mentors and employees, which are expected to motivate to improve employee performance on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Spiritual leadership is considered a crucial factor in shaping a positive organizational culture, while a toxic workplace can have negative impacts on employee well-being and performance. This study aims to investigate the influence of spiritual leadership and a toxic workplace on employee performance with the mediation of organizational climate in the Health Office of South Bengkulu. The research utilized purposive sampling with 112 respondents, consisting of medical and staff personnel in the Health Office of South Bengkulu, employing SEM-PLS as the data analysis method. The findings of this study indicate that spiritual leadership, a toxic workplace, and organizational climate have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Additionally, organizational climate can mediate the relationship between spiritual leadership, a toxic workplace, and employee performance. The practical implications of these findings can assist organizations, particularly the Health Office of South Bengkulu, in developing more effective management strategies to enhance employee well-being and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of P-J fit and perceived organizational support on task performance mediated by innovative behavior. This study provides empirical evidence regarding the role of innovation in increasing the fit between a person and his work and organizational support in improving task performance. The population of this study is civil servants who work in the Bengkulu Provincial Government, one of the largest province in West Part of Indonesia. The number of respondents taken amounted to 155 people. This study uses the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM ) method using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method with SmartPLS software application version 3.0. The study concludes that P-J fit positively affects organizational commitment and task performance based on the research conducted. The perceived support factor from the organization also affects innovative behavior and task performance. In a mediating relationship, P-J fit mediated by creative behavior will affect task performance. However, this study found that the ties built by P-J fit on task performance directly had a more significant effect than when mediated by innovative behavior. Organizational support mediated by creative behavior also improves task performance, although not as big as the direct effect of organizational support on employee performance. This research also contributes to the development of social exchange theory by using the innovation factor as a supporter.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic crisis has created an opportunity for SMEs to improve the quality of their products or services and develop various strategies for offering goods or services based on their business concerns. COVID-19 should not be an impediment to SMEs increasing sales because SMEs can promote their sustainability business. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business sustainability among micro-SMEs in Indonesia and Malaysia is highlighted in this paper. In this case, SMEs Indonesia, as a support for national economic activity in Indonesia, have been severely impacted not only in terms of total production and trade value, but also in terms of the number of workers who have lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic. We use survey methods and structured interviews with the business owner. Because of their small size, Micro SMEs are relatively adaptable, allowing them to change their business models quickly. SMEs with a large number of employees, on the other hand, will find it difficult to maintain overhead costs and implement changes in their business direction. SME business models must be reassessed in light of the new normal, post-MCO. They must reassess market expectations and become more aware of shifting habits. SMEs must investigate new markets and customer segments, launch new products, redesign the size and number of packages that are appropriate and relevant for the new market, and ascertain consumer desires. During the COVID-19 outbreak, small and medium-sized businesses ensure that their operations survive, adapt, and continuously improve productivity. We observe some of the business owners to learn what they can do to reduce the impact of the pandemic on their operations, ensure business continuity, and deliver better results in times of crisis. Twenty-five business owners (SMEs) share their experiences in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The most difficult challenge for businesses during the pandemic is how to survive persistently and creatively. This requires business owners to optimistically modify their business models, and some business owners radically modify their business models to survive. While geographically diverse and each serving a different consumer, the five businesses profiled below all reflect the realities that the small business community is facing during this trying time.
