Abstract

Anemia is a decrease in the amount of erythrocyte mass, which is indicated by a decrease in hemoglobin, hematocrit, and erythrocyte count. One of the health problems that often occurs in adolescents, especially adolescent girls, is anemia. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia at the age of 15-24 years is 32.0%. The incidence of anemia from the data of the puskesmas SMAN 8 Jambi City was 37 adolescent girls. Some factors that can cause anemia are nutritional status, consumption patterns, physical activity and compliance with blood supplement tablets consumption. Therefore, overcoming and preventing anemia in adolescent girls is a health problem that is focused on by the government. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of nutritional status and preventive efforts of anemia in adolescent girls at SMAN 8 Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative research, using a descriptive design. The research time was conducted from March to July 2024 which was located at SMAN 8 Jambi City. The sample in this study were adolescent girls affected by anemia at SMAN 8 Jambi City, totaling 37 adolescent girls in grades X and XI. Data collection techniques using total sampling techniques. Data collection techniques by filling out questionnaires, measuring height and weight. Data analysis in the study using univariate data analysis. The results of this study indicate that normal nutritional status (43.2%), efforts to prevent anemia are sufficient (45.9%), adherence to the consumption of blood supplement tablets that are not obedient (91.9%). In this study it can be concluded that for adolescent girls can make efforts to prevent anemia early on by changing a good diet, taking blood tablets to reduce the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Undernutrition is a condition of the body that lacks nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, and fats. WHO 2018 states that the number of malnutrition sufferers in adolescents in the world reaches 14.9%. Several factors that can cause malnutrition include nutrient intake and knowledge. The purpose of this study wasto determine the relationship between knowledge of balanced nutrition and macronutrient intake with the incidence of malnutrition in adolescents at SMPN 2 Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative using a cross sectional research design. The sample used was 80 respondents. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. This research was conducted in May 2024 at SMPN 2 Jambi City. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using the correlation test. The results of this study showed that respondents who had knowledge of balanced nutrition with a deficient category were 56 (70%), less protein intake was 50 (62,5%), less fat intake was 54 (67.5%), less carbohydrate intake was 68 (85%) and the incidence of malnutrition was 29 (36.2%). The results of the Spearmen Correlation Test found that there was a relationship between balanced nutrition knowledge and the incidence of malnutrition (p = 0.017), there was arelationship between protein intake (p = 0.029), fat intake (p = 0.028) and carbohydrateintake (p = 0.029) with the incidence of malnutrition in adolescents at SMPN 2 Jambi City. In conclusion, there is a relationship between knowledge of balanced nutrition, protein intake, fat intake, and carbohydrate intake in adolescents at SMPN 2 Jambi City. It is recommended that adolescents be given education related to balanced nutrition and adolescents pay more attention to their food intake, because it can affect nutritional status.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of development from childhood to adulthood that lasts between the ages of 10 and 19. Adolescent girls are a group of adolescents who are prone to anaemia compared to male adolescents, especially adolescent girls who experience menstruation every month. According to WHO, the prevalence of anaemia in women aged 15-49 years is 30%. According to Riskesdas, the prevalence of anaemia in the 15-24 age group was 5,671 or about 32%. Based on data from the Jambi City Health Office, there are 88 people with anaemia among adolescents aged 15-18 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge about anaemia among adolescent girls in SMAN 8 Jambi City and SMPN 11 Jambi City. This study is a quantitative study with analytical descriptive design. The number of respondents in this study were 93 respondents from SMAN 8 Jambi City and 90 respondents from SMPN 11 Jambi City. This research was conducted from March to May 2024. The sample in the study was taken using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was done by filling a questionnaire and the research data was analysed univariately. The results showed that most of the female adolescent respondents with less knowledge about anaemia were 86 people (47%). The average score of anaemia knowledge of high school girls is 31 (33.3%) or still in the category of lack of knowledge and the average score of anaemia knowledge of junior high school girls is also almost the same as the average score of knowledge of high school girls which is 30 (33.3%). It can be concluded from this study that most (47%) of the respondents have less knowledge about anaemia. Adolescent girls are expected to increase their knowledge and understanding about anaemia in order to prevent anaemia in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive and chronic nutritional problems caused by inadequate nutritional intake due to the provision of food that does not meet the needs of the long term. The causes of stunting are factors of poor nutrition experienced by pregnant women and children under five, limited health services including services for ante-natal care, post-natal care, lack of access to nutritious food and lack of maternal knowledge regarding health and nutrition before and during pregnancy, as well as after the mother gives birth. In 2021, out of 27,615 toddlers in Jambi City, 179 toddlers are stunted. To date, of 31,373 toddlers, there are 803 toddlers experiencing stunting or 2.56%. For Jambi City, the prevalence of stunting under five in 2021 is 17.4%. Based on the preliminary survey that has been conducted, many mothers do not understand the knowledge, attitudes, and practices in preventing stunting. Based on an initial survey conducted at the Putri Ayu Health Center on 10 pregnant women, there were 7 pregnant women who still did not know how to prevent stunting in children. The health problems above are carried out as a solution to the problem and followed up in order to prevent stunting in children. Therefore the author does community service in this case providing education regarding the prevention of stunting in children by educating pregnant women at the Putri Ayu Health Center, Jambi City. The purpose of this activity is to provide education about stunting and its prevention so as to increase knowledge in preventing stunting with the target of pregnant women at PKM Putri Ayu. This activity was carried out for 6 months, starting from March - August 2023. The method used was by giving education 1x by giving a pre and post test to assess changes in knowledge before and after being given education. The resulting outputs are in the form of increased knowledge of pregnant women regarding stunting prevention and scientific publications in accredited journals

Abstract

Reproductive health is important in the lives of individuals and communities. According to WHO, reproductive health includes efforts to maintain and improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals at all stages of life related to the reproductive system. Factors that influence reproductive health include social, economic, cultural, and environmental. This study aims to determine the description of adolescent knowledge and motivation about reproductive health at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City and is a quantitative study with a descriptive analytical design. The study was conducted from September 2023 to August 2024. The number of samples was 65 respondents using the proportional random sampling technique. Data collection by filling out questionnaires was analyzed univariately. The results obtained based on age characteristics are at the age of 13 years as many as 27 respondents (41.5%), the characteristics of respondents based on the most classes are in class 8 totaling 27 (41.54%) and the majority of female gender 59 respondents (90.8%), for good knowledge 30 respondents (46.15%), sufficient knowledge 20 respondents (30.77%), lack of knowledge 15 respondents (23.08%) for good motivation 34 respondents (52.31%) moderate motivation 18 respondents (27.69%) and lack of motivation 13 (20%). It can be concluded that most respondents have good knowledge 46.15% and for good motivation 52.31%. It is hoped that the school will continue to work with various teams that can provide education and motivate their students to always carry out reproductive health care

Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is one of the health problems in Indonesia, Riskesdas 2018 recorded 2,867 teenage pregnancies (10-19 years) and 15 of them were aged 10-14 years. BPS Indonesia reported that the average birth rate for teenagers in 2018 was 36/1,000 births and in Jambi Province 46/1,000 births (national target 18/1000 births). Based on the Medical Records of the KIA Polyclinic and interviews with the Midwife Coordinator of the KIA Program and the PKPR Program, it is known that in recent years there has been an increase in teenage pregnancies. In 2020 (33 cases), 2021 (33 cases), 2022 (35 cases), 2023 (31 cases) and 1 of them occurred at the age of 15 years. Interviews were also conducted with 2 teenage mothers who made antenatal visits. First mother: 19 years old, has 2 children, is currently pregnant with her 3rd child from her 2nd husband, and shows symptoms of depression; and second mother: 18 years old, 38 weeks pregnant, has anemia and suffers from hepatitis. Educational activities were carried out in 2 places (December 1, 2023 at the Putri Ayu Health Center Hall and January 20, 2024 at the Asfalis Posrem RT 17, Solok Sipin Village) for 14 teenage mothers, through group education for 60-70 minutes, with a lecture discussion and question and answer method. Before the material was given, leaflets were first distributed to each participant. The delivery of the material used ppt and loudspeakers, before and after education, a pretest and posttest were carried out using the same questionnaire. It was concluded that teenage pregnancy is increasing, while teenagers do not yet have good behavior in preventing it.

Abstract

A teenager must be able to carry out his role in family development tasks. The condition of adolescents who attend SMPIT Nurul Ilmi mostly come from well-off families and tend to live with being served in terms of taking care of themselves. This condition is feared to have an impact on the thinking and behavior of adolescents who tend to be less independent, thinking that they still have parents who will help them and solve their problems. The purpose of this activity is for adolescents to understand their role in the family so that they are able to become strong, independent, responsible and have a leadership spirit. The activity was carried out on November 1, 2022 at SMPIT Nurul Ilmi Jambi. The implementation method used is the direct face-to-face method with participants to provide health education by means of face-to-face, discussion and combined with the EMO-DEMO technique. The expected contribution from participants is that all participants participate in all series of activities so that they can provide optimal activity results. The result of this activity is that students as adolescents become more understanding of their role in the family, seen from the reactions that arise after the activity adolescents write down all their wishes for the future and promise to be responsible humans, protect and love their families wholeheartedly. Interested parties such as schools, teachers and parents can continue the condition of students who begin to open themselves to be responsible for themselves, their families and the nation. Sharpen adolescents' awareness, independence, discipline and increase compassion for their families and environment.

Abstract

Reproductive health is an important aspect in the lives of individuals and communities. Factors that influence reproductive health include social, economic, cultural and environmental. School Health Efforts (UKS) are educational unit efforts to instill, grow, develop and improve healthy living skills. This activity aims to form adolescent cadres who care about reproductive health, increase adolescent knowledge about reproductive health at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City. Junior High School (SMP) is a place of education whose students are teenagers, of course this needs to be equipped with knowledge and motivation related to reproductive health in order to avoid various problems related to reproduction, considering that teenagers are sometimes negligent and less concerned about their reproductive health, seen in the initial study obtained information from the student affairs teacher, this reproductive health problem has not been specifically given, for that it is necessary to form cadres who can be a bridge in providing information related to reproductive health for teenagers. The method of activity is lectures, questions and answers and discussions as well as providing questionnaires for pre-tests and post-tests. This community service was carried out from March 2024 to August 2024. The total number of participants was 10 people. The results of the pre-test and post-test with an average difference of 2-3 points, obtained an increase in knowledge of 26% and the formation of a UKS cadre team which of course will bridge the provision of information related to reproductive health. The output of this community service activity will be published in the Baiturrahim Health Service Journal.

Abstract

Putri Ayu Community Health Center is one of the community health centers in Jambi City with a relatively high rate of teenage pregnancies. Over the past five years (2020-2024), there were 164 teenage pregnancies. In 2020 (33 cases), 2021 (33 cases), 2022 (35 cases), 2023 (31 cases), and 2024 (32 cases), eight of these pregnancies involved girls aged 14-15 years. In addition, interviews were conducted with 2 teenage mothers. Both mothers showed symptoms of depression such as lack of communication with other people, including biological mothers and health workers; locking yourself up in your room for several days without interacting with your children and other family members; refusing to eat and rarely bathing and not complying with the advice of health workers. When interviewed, the mother looked pale, her clothes and body were dirty. This study is a descriptive study of 32 teenage pregnant women in the working area of ​​the Putri Ayu Community Health Center who were selected by accident. The aim is to identify knowledge, attitudes, adaptive behavioral responses, husband's support and depression conditions of teenage pregnant women using the EPDS-10 instrument. Filling out the questionnaire was carried out on 07 December 2023-10 June 2024, while additional information was collected by telephone 1-2 times to teenage mothers who showed symptoms of depression, then the data was analyzed univariately. A total of 19 (59.37%) mothers had poor knowledge about teenage pregnancy, 15 (46.88%) mothers agreed with teenage pregnancy, 34.38% responded non-adaptively, 15 (46.88%) received less support both husbands and 3 mothers (9,38%) experienced depression. It was concluded that teenage mothers had poor attitudes towards teenage pregnancies, lacked support from their husbands and some even experienced depression.

Abstract

Mental health problems occur in 15 -22% of children and adolescents, but less than 20% receive treatment. The diagnosis of mental disorders in children and adolescents is behavior that is inappropriate for their age level, deviant compared to cultural norms which results in a lack or disruption of adaptive functioning. Poor adolescent mental health occurs due to a lack of knowledge or awareness about mental health. According to the Counseling Guidance teacher, the problems that are often encountered by students are emotional instability, attitude in speaking as they like, grade 9 students are confused about where to continue after graduating. One way to increase knowledge is to provide education to students about mental health in adolescents, including definitions, causes, signs and symptoms, management and prevention. Changes in students' attitudes from negative attitudes to positive attitudes about emotions, anxiety and depression. This community service activity was carried out for 20 students from Nurul 'Ilmi IT Middle School, Jambi City. Education can be carried out using various types of media, one of which is in the form of modules/leaflets. The provision of education is agreed upon in groups to facilitate the delivery of information and takes place in the hall. Community service methods include lectures, discussions and sharing experiences. The results were an increase in knowledge about mental health and changes in attitudes among students.
