Abstract

Pulp disease is caused by bacteria that cause tooth decay in the form of caries. These bacteria can penetrate the pulp through the gaps in the dentine, and develop in the dentinal tubules so that the permeability of the dentinal tubules decreases. Reversible pulpitis is a type of pulp disease, which if left untreated will develop into irreversible pulpitis. Pulp capping treatment as a treatment for non medicament aims to maintain the pulp to remain vital by reducing the inflammatory process. Macrophages as a marker that can be used as a sign when inflammation occurs. Pulp capping treatment usually use calcium hydroxide and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) as material agent. Duck egg shells contain calcium carbonate and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate has an effectiveness over calcium hydroxide. the purpose of this study is to determine the difference in the number of macrophages in reversible pulpitis using duck egg nanohydroxyapatite (NHA) and MTA. this research is an in vivo laboratory experimental post test only control design with 27 research samples which one control group and two experiment group. The independent variables are duck egg nanohydroxyapatite and MTA, and the dependent variable is differences in the number of macrophages. there were significant differences in the three groups, where the average value of macrophage formation was lowest in the group of rats that were applied to MTA and followed by the NHA group. Meanwhile, the control group, the reversible pulpitis rat group without medicament application, had the highest average score. The application of MTA as a pulp capping medicament can reduce macrophages in reversible pulpitis using rats Sprague Dawley.

Abstract

Reversible pulpitis is a pathological condition of the pulp which can return to normal when the etiology of the condition is removed. Reversible pulpitis can be treated with pulp capping treatments to stimulate formation odontoblast like cell. Alternative materials are mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), Biodentine and Nano hydroxyapatite (nHA) from duck shells. Purpose: to find out whether there is a difference in the number of formations odontoblast like cell in reversible pulpitis with MTA and nano hydroxyapatite duck egg shell. in vivo laboratory experiment test only control design with the independent variables, namely MTA and Nano Hydroxyapatite duck eggs and the dependent variable, namely the difference in the number of formation Odontoblast like-cell. The sample used was the RA right molar tooth of a male Sprague Dawley rat. Results: The results obtained were (p value 0.001), there was a significant difference between the average number of formations odontoblast like cell in each treatment group and control group. Administration of Nano hydroxyapatite medicament from duck egg shells and MTA medicament in the treatment of pulp caps can increase the formation of odontoblast like cell in reversible pulpitis.

Abstract

Periodontal disease is a dental and oral health problem in adult society. One of the periodontal diseases is periodontitis which is an inflammation of the periodontal tissue caused by accumulation of dental plaque which can lead to impaired masticatory function, tooth loss, alveolar bone damage, periodontal ligament damage, pocket formation, and gingival recession. Coenzyme Q10 acts as an antioxidant, the reduced form is ready to give electrons to deactivate ROS or block free radicals which can prevent oxidative stress thereby protecting lymphocyte cells and reducing the immune response which can lead to a reduction in inflammation in the periodontal tissues. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of coenzyme Q10 on the number of lymphocyte cells in the gingiva of male wistar rats with periodontitis. The research method used is true experimental laboratory quantitative research with a research design that is a posttest only control group design with observation or observing the control group and the treatment group. The number of samples used was 24 rats. Observation of lymphocyte cells was carried out using a light microscope with a magnification of 200x and a magnification of 400x and then counted manually by the observer. The results showed that the significance value obtained in the One-Way ANOVA test was 0.000 (<0.05). Then, based on the results of the Post Hoc Least Significant Difference (LSD) test, it was found that the biggest difference in effect was in the K(-)5 group and the P5 group, where the difference was 59.00 with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). It can be concluded that there is an effect of coenzyme Q10 administration on the number of lymphocyte cells in the gingiva of male Wistar rats with periodontitis.

Abstract

Aspek kesehatan Anak Usia Dini yang perlu diperhatikan salah satunya adalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Kegiatan UKGS belum pernah dilakukan di SD Negeri Krikilan Dua, Kecamatan Masaran, Kabupaten Sragen. Guru dan siswa belum pernah mendapatkan materi pelatihan tentang cara menyikat gigi yang benar untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi pada saat pandemi covid 19. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah terciptanya gerakan masyarakat sadar sehat pada anak terutama pada kesehatan gigi selama pandemi covid-19. Metode penyuluhan dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kesadaran akan kesehatan gigi pada anak sekolah dasar selama pandemi adalah kurang, dikarenakan program UKGS juga tidak dapat berjalan dengan baik. Penyuluhan cara menyikat gigi yang benar untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan anak-anak sekolah dasar dari yang berpengetahuan kurang menjadi baik dan sangat baik. Upaya lanjutan perlu dilakukan misalnya dengan sikat gigi bersama dan cek kesahatan gigi oleh tim penyuluh.

Abstract

Glass ionomer cement is a restorative material that is adhesive, tooth-colored, and has the ability to release fluoride ions which are affected by the degree of acidity (pH). Apart from that, one way to utilize the waste from green mussels is by processing them into chitin and chitosan as materials to strengthen the properties of glass ionomer cement. Glass ionomer cement contains materials such as powderacid soluable calcium fluoraluminosilicate glass and liquidaqueous solution of polyacrylic acid. This can be an alternative as a treatment for dental caries. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the addition of green mussel shell (perna viridis) nanochitosan on the compressive strength of glass ionomer cement. Method: This study used a quantitative experimental laboratory study with a True Experimental study design using a post test only control group design. the total sample used was 25 samples. Results: The 2% nanochitosan concentration has the highest compressive strength value compared to other concentrations, as evidenced by the mean value at 2% concentration, which is 4.10 MPa. Conclusion: The result of 2% green mussel (perna viridis) nanochitosan was the most effective treatment in influencing the compressive strength of glass ionomer cement. The greater the concentration used, the higher the compressive strength of the resulting glass ionomer cement.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gerd merupakan salah satu contoh asam intrinsic yang bisa menjadi factor predisposisi dari erosi gigi. Asam yang ditimbulkan dari naiknya cairan asam lambung ini akan menurunkan pH dari rongga mulut. Hal ini yang akan meningkatkan resiko terjadinya erosi gigi. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui gambaran erosi gigi yang terjadi pada penderita GERD pada Puskesmas Pajang.Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan pendekatan studi deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan penyebaran kuesioner GERDQ dan juga pemeriksaan langsung untuk melihat kondisi erosi gigi yang terjadi. Data yang diperoleh akan dibuat menjadi bentuk table yang akan mendeskripsikan secara ringkas Hasil Penelitian: Data kasus erosi gigi dari penderita gerd yang ditemukan sebanyak 30 kasus dari 42 total sampel penelitian. Kasus yang terjadi rata rata banyak ditemukan pada gigi anterior dan untuk spesifik letaknya banyak ditemukan pada area gigi labial. Kesimpulan: Gambaran erosi gigi yang terjadi pada penderita GERD di Puskesmas Pajang lebih banyak ditemukan pada perempuan, dengan indeks erosi derajat ringan dan rata rata gigi yang terkena ialah gigi anterior dan area labial dari gigi tersebut yang paling banyak ditemukan kasus erosi gigi nya

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, it has taken the soul and the body of the population in Indonesia, so to trigger herd immunity and optimal public health requires macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. Optimal macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients can trigger the body's defense system to protect the body from viral, bacterial, and fungal infections. This educational activity aims to increase knowledge about macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. The methods used include creative lectures with video, discussions with participants, and participants filling out questionnaires through the zoom meeting application. The level of knowledge of participants on the types of immune systems has a sufficient category of 64.5%, the level of knowledge of participants on the dose of vitamin consumption has a sufficient category of 67.7%, the level of knowledge of participants on habits that can damage the immune system has a good category of 80.6%, and the level of knowledge of participants about habits that can damage the immune system has a good category of 87.7% and the level of knowledge of types of food as a natural immune system "booster" has a sufficient category of 64%. Based on results, it can be concluded that the highest level of knowledge on indicators of habits that can damage the immune system is 87.7% and the lowest level of knowledge is on indicators of types of food consumed as immune system boosters by 64%.

Abstract

Pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai Saturasi Oksigen di masa pandemi Covid 19 di rasa masih belum cukup memadai. Hal ini terbukti dengan kurang sadarnya masyarakat akan perlunya memantau kadar saturasi oksigen disaat terkonfirmasi Covid 19 maupun jika di sekitar lingkungannya ada yang terkonfirmasi. Wilayah Sragen adalah salah satu wilayah di Karesidenan Surakarta yang mempunyai angka infeksi Covid 19 tertinggi. Tercatat sebanyak 184 kasus aktif dan 1,416 kematian di wilayah Sragen. Metode: Oleh sebab itu dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat berupa Pelatihan Menjaga Kadar Saturasi Oksigen untuk 18 kader Kesehatan di Desa Krikilan, Kecamatan Masaran, Kabupaten Sragen dengan skema internal Desa Binaan dari Lembaga Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Pengembangan Persyarikatan (LPMPP) UMS. Pelaksanaan dari pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan langsung yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa Koas Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi UMS dengan dukungan Modul Pelatihan. Di awali dengan pre-test dan di akhiri dengan posttest kemudian di analisis statistic menggunakan uji paired t-test . Di akhir pelatihan Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi UMS memberikan bantuan berupa Buku Modul Pelatihan dan Alat Oxymeter untuk pengukuran kadar saturasi oksigen. Hasil: Hasil dari pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dari para kader dengan kenaikan nilai pre-test. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan kader tentang menjaga kadar saturasi oksigen berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran untuk lebih waspada terhada bahaya dan gejala infeksi virus Covid 19.

Abstract

Kondisi kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia harus menjadi perhatian. . Hal tersebut linier dengan dengan kondisi yang ada di Indonesia. Hasil riset kesehatan dasar RISKESDAS pada tahun 2018 menunjukkan 57,6% penduduk Indonesia m emiliki masalah gigi dan mulut. Salah satu indikator awal dari keluhan gigi dan mulut adalah karies. Karies dan penyakit periodontal disebabkan oleh plak yang berkembang karena tidak dibersihkan. Plak merupakan lapisan lengket yang melapisi gigi dan mengan dung bakteri. Jika plak gigi tidak dihilangkan ketika masih lunak, plak akan mengeras dan sulit dihilangkan Selama ini untuk mengetahui keberadaan plak menggunakan sebuah bahan yang dikenal sebagai disclosing agent. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan skor plak pada gigi anak usia 11 - 12 menggunakan alat ukur dental plaque detector dan disclosing agent . Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasi analitik menggunakan desain cross sectional. Jenis pengambilan sam pel menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 52 siswa berusia 11 - 12 tahun. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrument Turesky et al Modification of the Quigely and Hein Index untuk mengukur skor plak gigi pada anak. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Klomogorov Smirnov dan di uji statistik menggunakan Wilcoxon signed rank test. Hasil uji Wilcoxon signed rank test yaitu, adanya tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan sebesar 0,915 yaitu (p>0,05) antara denta l plaque detector dan disclosing agen t . T idak terdapat perbedaan skor plak gigi pada anak usia 11 - 12 tahun menggunakan dental plaque detector dan disclosing agent , sehingga dental plaque detector bisa digunakan sebagai alat pengganti disclosing agent.
