Abstract

The Historical Roots of Our Ecologic Crisis tahun 1967.

Abstract

Churches needs to consider how to do mission in the era of global capitalism. The negative impact of the current global capitalism epoch is created by economic and political gaps. Massive destruction of nature is also an impact of global capitalism. The topic will be elaborated through a literature research. The church faces a dif-ferent type of global reality in each age; however, it can learn from Jesus ministry. Jesus’ ministry showed concern for the poor, the marginalized and the helpless. Jesus is not someone who does not care about economic and political issues. The ministry carried out also has relevance to the individual and structural life. There is no structural change without individual changes (and vice versa). The church also needs to build a collective network to strive for a better life. Keywords: mission; global capitalism; ministry; Jesus.

Abstract

In the middle of environmental crisis context, the debate on the definition and concept of environmental ethics seems that there will be no end. This paper wants to assess major impact on the reality of environmental damage. Through the literature review method, the author finds that environmental crisis does not come from a person's bad ethics, but there  is another factor that also influences environmental crisis, namely global capitalism. Capitalism is a mode of production and consumption which is the main actor of environmental crisis. It does not mean that destructive behavior is done by humans not need to be morally condemned, on the other hand the tendency of moralism is needed to be avoided, which assumes that environmental problem can be solved by producing environmental ethics ideas that are friendly to all nature.

Abstract

This article will explain the contextualization of methodology in Paul's missiology in the contemporary world. Paul's methodology can not be separated from Paul's theology. Therefore, this article will also discuss Paul's theological concepts of justification, salvation, reconciliation, etc. The article will begin with events in Damascus when he met Christ. The incident became the beginning of his call to preach the good news to other nations. Preaching the good news by Paul is preaching salvation from sin and come alive. Good news in Paul's mission is not limited to preaching the gospel of salvation, but also living the gospel in daily life.

Abstract

Abstract

Glossolalia is currently a relevant topic. There is much controversy and debate about the practice of speaking in tongues. This paper will conduct a comparative analysis of tongues in 1 Corinthians and Acts. The practice referred to is specifically whether the Bible allows simultaneous speaking in tongues based on both books. Also regarding the speaking in tongues, whether it must be understood by others or is it necessary for someone to interpret it. This situation also occurs in the current context. Believers in some churches when in a worship (singing or praying) together speaking in tongues and without interpretation. The author finds that there are significant differences regarding the practice of speaking in tongues as instructed by Paul in 1 Corinthians and the story of speaking in tongues as written by Luke in Acts. In fact, there is an interpretive vacuum that contemporary interpreters must fill. The author uses a comparative method and a grammatical-historical hermeneutic approach to the biblical text.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service Team is to train the knowledge and skills of the GKKI congregations in Purworejo in hermeneutics and homiletics. Community Service Team gave lectures, questions and answers and the tasks carried out by the participants. This training is important because the Bible has gulfs (historical, cultural, linguistic, social and so on) that separate the current reader from the Bible writer. Likewise homiletics, because preaching is an important part of worship, as a means of building faith and means of evangelism. The method used is by going directly to the place of activity and conducting face-to-face training. The training process goes through three stages: preparation, implementation and evaluation as well as a follow-up to the results of the training. The results obtained are that the board and congregation are very enthusiastic in developing their knowledge and skills to preach. They also increasingly understand the importance of hermeneutics for interpreting the Bible. Administrators can also outline sermons and deliver sermons according to good interpretive guidelines.
