Abstract

In an increasingly digital era, Christian leaders face new challenges in managing digital risks. To face these challenges, Christian leadership needs to be based on the spiritual values contained in the event of Christ's transfiguration. This article explores the meaning of Christ's transfiguration and its implications for contemporary Christian leadership. The concept of "Transfigured Leadership" can be a valuable approach for Christian leaders to face these challenges from the perspective of Christian spirituality. The method used is a descriptive qualitative analysis of the Bible and literature with related themes. The research results show that the transfiguration of Christ reveals the character of Christ as a sanctified Messiah, a leader whose life is pleasing to the Father, and a role model for His followers. Christian leadership values that originate from the transfiguration of Christ require leaders who live in holiness, have a close relationship with God, humility, willingness to make sacrifices, obedience to their calling, and continuous self-transformation. By focusing on the example of Christ's leadership, Christian leaders are expected to implement leadership that is oriented toward spiritual transformation.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of servant leadership on the performance of Catholic religious teachers, with competence and professional commitment as mediating variables. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 151 Catholic religious teachers in the Jakarta Archdiocese. The results show that servant leadership has a direct positive impact on teacher performance (β = 0.317, p 0.001) and indirectly enhances performance through competence (β = 0.199, p = 0.008) and professional commitment (β = 0.186, p = 0.002). Competence (β = 0.357, p = 0.001) and professional commitment (β = 0.340, p = 0.002) significantly improve teacher performance. The structural model explains 74.9% of the variance in teacher performance, indicating strong predictive power. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the mediating role of competence and professional commitment in the relationship between servant leadership and performance, particularly in Catholic education. The findings provide practical implications for school administrators and policymakers to implement servant leadership strategies that enhance teacher competence and commitment. This research introduces a comprehensive approach to improving teacher effectiveness in religious education settings, emphasizing the importance of leadership styles that prioritize service, empowerment, and professional development.

Abstract

Church leadership today is facing a serious crisis due to the weakening of moral integrity and the increasing prevalence of ethical banality. Many cases show that authoritarian behaviour, abuse of power, desire for position and power, and immoral behaviour have created deep wounds in the faith community and damaged the integrity of the Body of Christ. This phenomenon is a strong indicator of the decline of leadership that no longer stands on biblical values and ethical theological principles that should be the foundation of Christian ministry. The disintegration of the church as a direct result of moral failure in leadership highlights the urgency of re-examining the relationship between Christian ethics and power structures within the church. This study aims to analyse theologically and ethically how leadership decadence contributes to church division in the contemporary era. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, it can be concluded that amoral and banal leadership in Christianity is the primary factor causing moral decadence, leading to the disintegration of the Body of Christ and a crisis of church morality. When leadership loses its spiritual dimension and ethical integrity, the church is no longer able to carry out its prophetic function in society. Therefore, leadership actualisation and reform strategies that emphasise moral education and accountability are needed as efforts to restore spiritual authority and church unity.

Abstract

Issues of hunger and food security (SDG 2: Zero Hunger) are increasingly evident in urban areas, including Cengkareng Timur, West Jakarta. This condition highlights the need for more contextual and sustainable involvement of churches. This article aims to formulate a Contextual Christian Religious Education (CRE) Model based on the Gospel of Mark 6:30–44 as a strategy for empowering congregations to respond to local food vulnerability. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at GBI Serafim Cengkareng Timur through the Berbagi Makan Siang Gratis food ministry program. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that Mark 6:30–44 contains key values—compassion, congregational participation, sharing practices, and the fulfillment of basic needs—which are relevant for moving Christian education from faith instruction toward social action. Based on these findings, this study formulates the R.O.T.I Model (Simple, Authentic, Transformative, and Implementative) as a contextual CRE model that encourages congregational engagement and supports the practical achievement of SDG 2.
