Abstract

This study addresses the use of Facebook (FB) as a media for promoting science’ product. By adopting the concept of entrepreneurship education, the study explored the role of FB in promoting science message through “Learning Shirt-theme”. A thematic study was conducted, involving a group of Indonesian undergraduate physics students (34 members) in FB namely “Learning Shirt” and the content of their sites as the entrepreneurs and 192 active members as the service users. The students pursued their study at a public university in Surabaya, Indonesia, which contributed to the group’s community. These groups of students established entrepreneurship activities and promoted their message of physics via FB. The role of the researcher is a tutor of the community. Data analyses were used, including a thematic and documentation analysis and supported by questionnaire analysis. The results of the study categorized the physics-shirt into five themes: the history of physics, derivation of the equation in physics, physics symbols and equations, physics values, and models in physics. The FB users’ understanding of physics themes were in a good category with an average score of 79.79. The trend of FB user’s positive response regarding ten expressions in the questionnaire was increased significantly in three weeks.

Abstract

Learning science and religion is a combination of knowledge or science with relevant verses of the Al-Qur’an. Education is not only a means of gaining general knowledge through subjects, but also covers aspects of life as a whole, including religious morals. Considering that natural phenomena are so vast, it would be a shame if students are not given enough integration between science and religion, one of which is in physics lessons. The researcher took the initiative to carry out the application of science and religion further in the hope of providing a solution, namely by teaching physics, fluid material, integrated with verses from the Al-Al-Qur’an. This study employs mixed or combined research (mixed methods) with the type of Explanatory Design. Specifically, data collection and analysis of quantitative data are done in the first stage, and then qualitative data are collected and analyzed in the second stage. The integration of science and religion for the fluid material used produces an average value that is categorized as very good. Apart from that, the material from the validation results uses 3 foundations, namely the theological basis (hadârat an-nas), philosophical basis (hadârat al-falsafah), and scientific basis (hadârat al-'ilm). So that the verses of the Al-Qur’an become the main source of the theological basis for the idea of integration by including religious elements, then the scientific or scientific basis which includes the basics of static fluid physics, and the philosophical basis which includes the field of philosophy to connect these two things.

Abstract

One way that can be done to improve the quality of teachers is to carry out supervision properly. Supervision is not only carried out to improve teacher abilities, but also to increase teacher motivation, especially achievement motivation. This study aims to reveal supervision carried out through a reality approach to increase teacher achievement motivation. To achieve the research objectives, the research approach used is qualitative, with data analysis through condensation, data display, and verification / conclusion. Data collection is done through interviews, observations, and document studies. Based on the results of the research obtained, the implementation of supervision through a reality approach is carried out through three stages, namely pre-conference, conference, and post-conference. At the pre-conference stage, the supervisor together with the supervise analyze the problems experienced and agree on the time for the implementation of supervision. The Conference stage is carried out by talking personally to increase teacher motivation. At the conference stage, the reality approach is used using WDEP (Wants, Direction, Evaluation, and Planning) techniques. At the Post Conference stage, follow up on the results of the supervision carried out.

Abstract

Students frequently encounter alternative conceptions regarding physics, both before and after studying physics concepts. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the PODEW (Predict, Observe, Discuss, Explain, Write) strategy integrated with analogy-based learning in addressing these misconceptions. A mixed-method explanatory model was employed, involving both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using ANCOVA, N-Gain calculations, and effect size measurements. Qualitative data were obtained via interviews with selected students to provide further insights into the findings. The study involved 60 high school students from State Senior High School of Pandewu 1, with Grade 10 Science-1 (experimental group) utilizing the PODEW strategy with analogy and Grade 10 Science-2 (control group) employing the PODEW strategy without analogy. Results indicated a significant difference between the two groups, with the experimental group achieving an N-Gain score of 0.64 compared to 0.48 in the control group, indicating greater improvement in addressing alternative conceptions. Despite these improvements, some students in the experimental group shifted from scientific understanding to alternative conceptions, suggesting the need for further refinement of the strategy. Overall, the findings highlight the potential of the PODEW strategy with analogy in reducing misconceptions and improving students' conceptual understanding of Newton's Laws.

Abstract

Many studies have been conducted on creative thinking and gamification separately, but there is still a gap in the literature that examines the relationship between these two concepts comprehensively in an educational context. This research was conducted with the aim of providing a more holistic understanding of the trending topics between gamification and creative thinking in empirical and theoretical studies, analysing the contribution of each author using the Scopus database through bibliometric analysis with the VOSviewer application. Based on bibliometric analysis, several conclusions are obtained that the results of the metadata obtained show a trend of writing that is growing significantly from 2013 to 2023. In the author collaboration network, it can be seen on the map that there are 8 clusters with the number of author items each totalling 1 item where each author has published 2 documents. From the results of the analysis, the topic of gamification for creativity is still needed and needs to be improved. United States contributes to publishing documents on the topic of gamification for creativity. For the form of publication, most documents are published in the form of articles. So for the right solution in improving CTS can be done by using gamification learning

Abstract

Rapid changes in technology affect curriculum changes. The Indonesian curriculum that is currently running, namely the independent learning curriculum (MBKM), provides an opportunity for researchers to study educational curriculum design. This research aims to analyze the development of the local wisdom curriculum in the Industrial Era 4.0, analyze the design of the local wisdom industry 4.0 curriculum against the curriculum that has been put forward by researchers, and analyze it in the independent learning curriculum. This type of research is a study of curriculum development design literature. The results of the analysis show that the Local Wisdom Industry 4.0 curriculum model is a curriculum model developed based on local wisdom with each curriculum implementation process structured starting from curriculum objectives, content, processes, outcomes, and evaluation processes implemented according to developments in the Industry 4.0 era. This model was developed by integrating the Tyler model curriculum and the Hawes model and emphasizing curriculum objectives and learning processes.
