Abstract

The students’ skill in writing narrative text is really needed to be improved. The implementation of English Poetry in the current research was aimed to improve the students’ writing narrative text of the students in the 2nd semester of the Islamic Economic Law study program, the faculty of Islamic Religion. The study applied quantitative method in light of pre and post-test of writing narrative text to both of control and experimental groups and distributing questionnaire to the experimental group to gain their perception upon the English poetry. A total of 34 students from control and experimental group were involved. Analytical scoring profile was used to measure the students’ writing narrative text.The result shows that students under the guidance of English poetry performed significantly better than students in control group with conventional way of teaching in which, the experimental group shows score of post-test was greater than control group by gaining mean score 78.25 and control group gained mean score 61.62. The analysis of questionnaire results reveals that the implementation of English poetry helped the students to be easier in writing narrative text. Most of the participants gave positive response to the use of English poetry in teaching writing narrative text.

Abstract

Landscape Linguistics is a study that focuses on the use of language in public spaces, both monolingual, bilingual and multilingual. The purpose of this study is to analyze the linguistic psychology of landscapes in public spaces on Buru Island. The research method used is qualitative. In this study, researchers took sources from the nameplate or baleho found on Buru Island, precisely in Namlea Village. The data sources are several photos in public places on Buru Island. Analysis of research data, namely when researchers collect the results of information board documentation scattered on Buru Island, all of the documentation is classified according to their respective characteristics, namely, signboards, billboards and other information. Then the meaning and function are determined by using Landscape linguistic studies. The results of the study found that in the public space of the Buru Island community there were two variations of the language used, namely Indonesian and the Maluku dialect, as well as the Landscape function, namely Formal and Informal

Abstract

Revitalizing literacy among millennials, particularly those in remote regions like Buru Island, necessitates collaborative efforts from government bodies, literacy communities, and families. The Bupolo millennials face significant challenges in accessing quality reading materials. The establishment of the Community Learning House (RBK) on Buru Island aims to address these challenges by fostering a literacy culture. This study identifies effective strategies to enhance literacy and build character among Bupolo millennials through RBK. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, data were collected via participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation at RBK, Buru Island. Findings reveal nine key strategies: Oral Tradition Literacy, Media Literacy, Basic Literacy, Literacy Tourism with Coastal Children, Literacy Carnival, Literacy Enters Village, Mountaineering Literacy, School Literacy, and Sharing Literacy. These strategies cultivate qualities such as curiosity, honesty, tolerance, creativity, hard work, independence, cultural appreciation, nationalism, and social responsibility among Bupolo millennials.

Abstract

Expressive speech acts are often used in both environments, schools, offices, hospitals and market. This research aims to describe the function of speech is expressive of sellers and buyers in the event of transaction in the traditional market town of Baubau. This qualitative descriptive nature of the research. Sampling is done in purposif. Linguistic phenomena is examined with a pragmatic approach. Research data in the form of verbal data sourced from the conversation of sellers and buyers in a transaction. The data was collected by using the method of observation through the technique of record and note. The data have been analyzed in qualitative descriptive are classified. The results showed that the functions of the seller's expressive speech consists of functions to thank, praise, and function function complained. Furthermore the functions of speech is expressive of the buyer, i.e. the function to thank, praise, function and the function of complaining.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penguasaan kosakata bahasa Indonesia yang di miliki siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Namlea ganjil. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis dengan cara memberikan siswa tugas untuk membuat   karangan   tentang   pekerjaan   orang   tua   siswa.   Penelitian   ini menggunakan teknis analisis data yakni, karangan dianalisis berdasarkan jenis- jenis kategori kosakata. Hasil penilitian menyatakan bahwa penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Namlea dikategorikan sedang dikarenakan rata-rata dari siswa sudah lumayan bnayak yang bisa menulis karangan namun masih perlu dilakukan pembedaharaan kosa kata berdasarkan bentuknya sebab masih banyak dari mereka yang belum bisa membedakan kosa kata berdasarkan jenisnya. Dari tiga puluh karangan yang dianalisis pengunaan kosakata bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Namlea penguasaan kata benda memiliki presentase terbesar disbanding dengan kosa kata lainnya yaitu karangan siswa NB terdapat 51 Kosakata dan presentase terkecil yaitu siswa FH yaitu 9 kosakata. Pengunaan kata benda memiliki presentase terbesar karena kata benda lebih mudah ditemukan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Peserta didik terdiri dari siswa lingkungan pesantren dan siswa lingkungan masyarakat pada umumnya. Pergaulan antarsiswa secara sadar membentuk semacam kelompok-kelompok pergaulan di MA AL Hilal Namlea. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya penanaman pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia meliputi, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penilaian, faktor penghambat, dan pendukung yang dialami guru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah pendidikan karakter sudah diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia baik dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian pembelajaran. Faktor penghambat implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di MA Al Hilal Namlea yaitu guru mengalami kesulitan dalam memilih nilai karakter dan memadukannya dengan materi pembelajaran, menilai ketercapaian pendidikan karakter, dan media pembelajaran kurang mendukung. Faktor pendukung implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yaitu lingkungan keluarga, warga sekolah, pergaulan siswa, kebiasaan sekolah, sarana prasarana sekolah, dan pengaturan jadwal mengajar yang runtut.
