Abstract

Pengelasan logam adalah teknik penyambungan dua jenis atau paduan logam menjadi satu. stainless steel adalah baja yang dirancang dengan kualitas yang mampu bekerja pada kisaran suhu yang lebih tinggi, sehingga dapat digunakan di konstruksi tangki penyimpanan, pipa, dan katup. Perbedaan suhu leleh, koefisien muai, kualitas fisik, dan sifat mekanik merupakan masalah umum pengelasan saat menyambung dua logam berbeda. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan elektroda las yang tepat akan menghasilkan sambungan yang memuaskan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana jenis elektroda mempengaruhi kekuatan tarik dan kekerasan baja tahan karat 201 dan baja tahan karat 304. Elektroda dipakai didalam penelitian ini yakni jenis E 7016 serta E 308. Metode pengelasan memakai las SMAW dengan kampuh v 60°. Kekuatan mekanik diuji menggunakan mesin uji tarik serta uji kekerasan. Berdasarkan uji tarik, terdapat perbedaaan signifikan. Pada pengelasan specimen yang berbeda jenis antara SS 201 dan SS 304 dengan menggunakan elektroda E 7016 mempunyai kekuatan tegangan mekanis rata-rata sebesar 506,63 N/mm² ,dan E 308 sebesar 546,79 N/mm².Dan nilai rata-rata regangan pada elektroda E 7016 sebesar 8,17% sedangkan pada elektroda E 308 sebesar 22,53%. Dan nilai rata-rata kekerasannya  pada elektroda E 7016 sebesar 422,5kgf/mm² sedangkan pada elektroda E 308 sebesar 238,3kgf/mm².Dan untuk perbandingannya pengelasan pada material yang sama jenis SS 201 dan SS 304 nilai rata-rata tegangan mekanis pada elektroda E 7016 sebesar 496,42 N/mm² dan  pada elektroda E 308 sebesar 487,97 N/mm², untuk nilai rata-rata regangannya pada elektroda E 7016 sebesar 3,27% dan pada elektroda E 308 sebesar 7,59%. Dan nilai rata-rata kekerasannya pada elektroda E 7016 sebesar 491,7kgf/mm² sedangkan pada elektroda E 308 sebesar 382,1 kgf/mm². Sehingga bisa disimpulkan, jenis elektroda dan perbedaan material yang dilas  mempengaruhi kekuatan tarik serta kekerasan pengelasan stainless steel 201 dan stainless steel 304.

Abstract

Sebuah sistem kompleks seperti mesin proses selalu membutuhkan perawatan berkala untuk menjaga kontinuitas fungsi dan penggunaan nya. Tanpa perawatan yang baik akan membuat kinerja mesin tersebut turun bahkan rusak atau mal function. Masalah yang sering dialami dalam menentukan jadwal perawatan mesin adalah tidak adanya pemberitahuan sebelumnya sehingga selalu dilewati bahkan kadang kala sampai rusak baru disadari. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut ide pembuatan sebuah alat pengingat dan pemberitahuan jadwal dibuat dengan tujuan untuk mengingatkan secara berkala saat  perawatan telah tiba. Alat pengingat ini dapat dibuat dengan komponen elektronika seperti modul jam digital RTC, mikrokontroler, display dan modem GSM.

Abstract

Engine mounting adalah komponen yang sangat berperan pada suatu kendaraan, tak ubahnya seperti mengurangi gocangan atau kejut berkendara. mesin mobil sebagai daya penggerak utama pada kendaraan memilik getaran yang tinggi akibat proses pembakaran. Pengujian dilakukan dengan 2 tahapan,yaitu pengujian langsung  dan pengujian tak langsung. Pengujian langsung terdiri dari pengukuran getaran dalam system sumbu x, sumbu y dan sumbu z. pengujian tak langsung seluruh variable nilaimya di dapat dari perhitungan dan digunakan bahan pengamat atau analisis. Untuk  bahan sampel hasil simpangan rata-rata0,925441mm, dan untuk bahan standar hasil simpangan rata-rata 0,90508 mm. Dari hasil penelitian( amplitudo) getaran bahan standar relatif lebih kecil jika di bandingkan dengan bahan sampel

Abstract

State Vocational School 1 Sei Rampah Serdang Bedagai Regency annually holds Competency Exams for Class XII Lightweight Vocational School, prior to conducting the National Examination. Every year almost 90% fail in the Competency Exams conducted by these students. Therefore we are from Faculty of Engineering and Computer teaching staff serve this Vocational School to hold Competency Test Training for Class XI Students, so as not to fail when they later in class XII, to carry out competency tests. As for the implementation of competency training are: Tune up competency test training, Electricity, Steering System, Over Hole Engine and chassis.

Abstract

To produce according to production targets, of course supported by machines and equipment at every stage of the process and must be operated effectively and efficiently. operating machinery and equipment effectively and efficiently requires a good machine maintenance system. The research method used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness. After conducting the research, the average value of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness of the wafer is 34.00%. This result is still far from the world class standard of 85%. It is known that the biggest losses that cause the low OEE value are reduced speed losses by 143.3% and defect losses by 9.68% of the total losses. What causes low losses consists of factors such as machines, humans, environment, and methods. . To reduce these losses, the company should provide skills training and knowledge to operators about signs of damage to the equipment. In addition, operators are given additional work in the form of equipment maintenance that is often used at work so that maintenance work can be more focused. Then the company must pay more attention to operator comfort in working so that fatigue can be reduced and operator productivity increases and increases operator awareness of the equipment they use.

Abstract

Technological developments with the number and growth of motorized vehicles and the consumption of fuel oil in Indonesia have caused problems for the environment and fuel supply. This problem is even more complicated because the subsidy for its procurement is already very burdensome to the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget. Therefore, comprehensive efforts must continue to be made to find the best solution. This paper discusses the results of research aimed at reducing emissions and reducing motorcycle fuel consumption, by converting the use of gasoline to LPG which is commonly used for cooking. Tests were carried out in the laboratory using a chassis dynamometer to compare torque, power, fuel consumption levels and operating costs, on a carburetor motorcycle engine using gasoline and LPG, either without changing the ignition conditions or by changing the ignition conditions. From this study it was found that LPG fuel has good performance and can be used directly without changing the ignition conditions. However, the performance will be better if the ignition conditions are adjusted. The best level of LPG consumption is 86 km/kg or Rp.58/km, while gasoline is 66 km/l or Rp.98/km.

Abstract

In this study, the material used was coconut husk fiber with a straight fiber orientation direction with different volume fractions with alkali treatment (NaOH) for two hours and without treatment using Polyester BQTN 157 as the matrix. Manufacture by printing in printed, bending testing carried out with reference to ASTM D 6110 standard. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal bending strength of coconut coir fiber composites at volume fractions 0% fiber 100% resin, 10% fiber 80% resin, 20% fiber 80% resin, 30% fiber 70% resin, 40% fiber 60% resin, 50% resin 50% fiber, 60% resin 40% fiber and 70% fiber 30% resin with alkaline treatment (NaOH) for two hours and without treatment and find out the fracture results in specimens that have optimal prices from bending testing. The results of composite testing of coconut coir fiber without treatment with volume fraction variations with bending testing obtained the average bending elasticity modulus at Vf 60% resin 40% fiber with a value of 619047.619 MPa. And the test results with alkali treatment (NaOH) obtained the average bending elasticity modulus at Vf 70% resin 30% fiber with a value of 4893.410928 MPa.
