Abstract

Kompas Gramedia Group (KGG) is one of Indonesia's largest corporations with a network of media businesses. This study aims to analyze and map two aspects: How the mapping of business networks and the development of KGG media concentration in several regions in Indonesia, as well as political and economic factors that influence the formation (construction) of strengthening the KGG conglomerate as one of the largest media companies in Indonesia today. This study uses qualitative research methods through the instrument of political economy analysis of media propaganda models against five filters/layers of political media economy developed by Noam Chomsky. The study results found that KGG built a media business arena almost evenly throughout Indonesia. Arena contestation has become a bone of contention because it has significant economic opportunities to create new expansion areas. For example, areas outside Jakarta as information control mechanisms from Jakarta can control suburbs as the center of information. In addition to the work of five media layers on Kompas, it can move quickly to reach one point, namely the element of diversity or diversity of media content consumed by the audience to be nonexistent. This condition needs to be watched out as a threat to the independence of the fulfillment of citizens' rights to diverse information, but the content is not uniform.

This movement is part of a special total consciousness in the proselytizing movement. Part of the main consciousness needed is abstract philosophical consciousness meaning theological consciousness leads to strategic and tactical awareness. Abstract

This research presents an updated analysis of the dynamics of ancestral religion in Indonesia using a postmodernist approach. This research aims to review how ancestral religions are understood within the grand narrative of official religions and the implications for the division of rights and treatment of citizens based on religious choices, which often become political issues. Through a qualitative approach and analysis of postmodernism popularised by Lyotard and Foucault, this research dismantles the single narrative of official religions. The method used is critical discourse analysis. The main findings of this research show that ancestral religions in Indonesia face pressure from the grand narratives of official religions. Ancestral religions are often positioned as part of problematic activities that result in not getting equal recognition with official religions. On the other hand, the grand narrative of official religion impacts the meaning and interpretation of ancestral religions that are still considered sinful, and there are still restrictions on their religious practices. The implications of the findings of this research point to the political and social aspects of categorising ancestral religions as "other" or "profane" and the impact on their treatment and rights in society. Although in November 2017, the Constitutional Court (MK) granted a judicial review of some articles in the Population and Administration Law, acts of persecution still occur against them.

Abstract

This article explains how the origin (genealogy) of the hybrid identity of Indo-European artists has a special place on the stage of the Indonesian broadcasting industry beyond the existing Indonesian artists and actually has traces of the history of the Dutch colonial occupation era. The purpose of the article to analyze the traces of Dutch colonial memory is related to the strengthening of the existence of Indo-European Artists. Through the theory of postcolonial theory, the author uses it to examine colonialism discourses that can still be traced in the broadcasting industry in Indonesia post-New Order period. This article explains that the interest of some people in the appearance of Indo artists, can be traced in trace from the history of colonialism occupation in the Dutch East Indies, that the existence of Indo-European people is a bad history of mountainous practices in former colonies. So the status as "nyai" is the ancestor of the Indo-European people who were criminalized. Ironically, currently, Indo descendants as celebrities influence the perspective of the concept of Indonesian beauty following their ideal standards, including the impersonation of beautiful meanings by the Indonesian cosmetic industry referring to the typical European / Western charm.

Abstract

Religious teachers have a key role in instilling religious moderation in the younger generation. Through their experiential approach and capacity to teach moderation values, Religious Teachers are expected to be role models of ethics and morality. They also need to open up correct and valid information, making them a source of information that can form a moderate, tolerant and harmonious society. The community service program was conducted in Perkamil Village, Manado, with a focus on Elementary School Religious Teachers. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program includes mapping of religious issues, teacher training, and development of religious moderation literacy. The mapping results identified incomprehension, inequality, lack of interfaith dialog, identity politics, lack of multicultural education, and irresponsible media as the main problems. Strengthening religious moderation literacy is done through curriculum alignment, teacher training, collaborative learning activities, and mastering multicultural issues. These steps are expected to create functional and sustainable institutions and communities, and accelerate the implementation of religious moderation in elementary schools. Through these efforts, the community is expected to overcome potential religious conflicts and build an inclusive environment. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of intercultural da'wah adaptation in the Malay Muslim community in Makassar. The background of this research is based on the lack of information about the dynamics of intercultural da'wah for ethnic Malay Muslims in Makassar, which can affect people's understanding of cultural diversity. The research method uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic study involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the Malay Muslim community in Makassar plays an essential role in forming cultural identity amid ethnic and religious diversity. The adaptation of intercultural da'wah is observed in the location of Malay people and places of worship that are on the crossing path of cultural and religious diversity. The Makmur Melayu Mosque, as the centre of religious activities, is located close to Chinese and Arab settlements, reflecting the contribution of intercultural da'wah in forming Malay-Muslim identity in Makassar. The process of cultural acculturation is also observed through the adaptation of language, social systems and Islamic values For example, cultural adaptation was found through cross-cultural marriages, especially among Bugis Makassar aristocrats, which contributed to the formation of identity and social structure in Makassar.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the deradicalism in the family at Tahuna on Sangihe Islands, North Sulawesi with the potential to raise radicalism. This area is the transmission line for terrorists to Indonesia from Mindanao. Furthermore, the entry of transnational Islam emphasizes religious textuality and intolerance of others. This study is a type of empirical legal research, namely a legal research method taken from the facts that exist in the Tahuna Muslim community. The data was collected using observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through the maqashid al-shari'a approach. The result was expected to help prevent family radicalism, and mobilize women's majlis taklim in mosques at the Tahuna area in each recitation. Furthermore, they could help transfer moderate Islamic ideas emphasizing discussing hifzh al-nafs and hifzh al-nasl, especially in family partnerships in the family. This would ensure women or wives are no longer subordinated to men and the tolerance values inculcated among people of the same and different religions. In general, the tolerance values are transferred through local wisdom adages in the Sangihe Islands, including mepalose and pantuhu makasalentiho somahe kai kehage, as reinforcement of family deradicalism.

Abstract

The post-truth era has presented serious challenges in social, political, and religious life, where objective facts are often trumped by emotions and personal beliefs. This phenomenon has resulted in a character crisis and a weakening of religious awareness, especially among the younger generation living in a digital information flow without value filters. This paper aims to conceptually examine da'wah-based education as a strategy for building character and religious awareness amidst the challenges of the post-truth era. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a literature study approach. The results of the study indicate that da'wah-based education that integrates the values of tabligh, ta'lim, tarbiyah, and tazkiyah is able to foster students holistically, both intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Da'wah in education not only conveys teachings normatively, but also touches on the dimensions of awareness, habituation, and contextualization of religious values in real life. In its implementation, a collaborative strategy is needed between teachers, families, educational institutions, and the intelligent and ethical use of digital media. Thus, da'wah-based education has strong relevance in forming a generation that is morally resilient, critical in thinking, and religiously conscious amidst the post-truth reality.
