Abstract

This study aims to discover how undergraduate students conducted self-assessments of their learning process and outcomes, and how much doing self-assessment could contribute to the learning achievement. This research applied a qualitative method. The authors utilized interviews to collect data and wrote them down as the results of the analysis. Based on the results of the interviews, six students responded to the survey regarding conducting self-assessment in the learning process revealing that the benefit of doing self-assessment for students was that they could introspect themselves in the learning process, the self- assessment had significantly contributed to time management during the learning process. In addition, self-assessment could motivate students to improve their ability to learn from previous results. Students could also evaluate what had been done in the learning process. Evaluation results were also significant for students in conducting self-assessments. Hence, students understood the extent of their ability to learn, which was better or worse than before, in every problem during the study process.

Abstract

In this research, the writers make research of consumptive behavior and its impacts. “The Joneses” film represents the impacts of consumptive behavior in American society in many aspects of life. The objective of this paper is to describe and find the impacts of consumptive behavior toward American society, as reflected in the film "The Joneses." In analyzing data, the writers use a qualitative method by gathering the data qualitatively. The result reveals kinds of consumptive behavior, factors of consumptive behavior, impacts of consumptive behavior, and things that influence consumptive behavior. Some of them are environment and internal motivation.

Abstract

Sistem e-learning semakin banyak digunakan di sekolah menengah kejuruan untuk meningkatkan kegiatan belajar mengajar. Namun tantangan muncul dalam penerapan e-learning karena kesiapan sistem informasi dan kepuasan pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang dapat menyebabkan keberhasilan penerapan e-learning di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung dan memperbaiki sistem pembelajaran di masa depan. Penelitian deskriptif menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan menggunakan alat analisis aplikasi Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) versi 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan e-learning di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung memberikan dampak positif terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran. Faktor-faktor seperti kualitas sistem informasi dan efikasi diri berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penggunaan e-learning. Keberhasilan e-learning dipengaruhi secara positif oleh variabel penggunaan sistem e-learning, variabel budaya belajar, dan variabel self-ability. Semua variabel tersebut signifikan pada tingkat signifikansi 0,001

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of technology usage on the development of Indonesian language skills among the millennial generation. Millennials are a group that has grown up in a rapidly advancing digital technology era, which significantly affects their ways of learning and communicating, including in language aspects. By utilizing survey and interview methods, data were collected from a representative sample of millennials who actively use technology. The results of the study indicate that the use of technology, such as smartphones, social media, and online learning platforms, has a significant impact on the development of Indonesian language skills among millennials. Although technology provides easy access to information and learning resources, this research also highlights several challenges, such as the misuse of language on social media, which can negatively affect both written and oral language skills. The implications of these findings offer valuable insights for educators, parents, and policymakers in designing effective language learning strategies for the millennial generation.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of bilingual education programs on English language development among students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Bilingual education programs use both the student's native language and English as mediums of instruction, aiming to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, and academic achievement. Key findings suggest that well-implemented bilingual programs contribute positively to English language development, with students achieving comparable or superior levels of proficiency compared to monolingual English-only programs. Bilingual education enhances metalinguistic awareness, facilitating the transfer of literacy skills from the native language to English, and provides cognitive benefits like improved executive function and problem-solving skills. It also fosters a more inclusive learning environment, enhancing students' self-esteem and motivation. Socio-cultural benefits, such as increased cultural awareness and sensitivity, promote a positive attitude towards learning English and other languages. However, the effectiveness of bilingual education programs depends on factors like program quality, teacher proficiency, and socio-political context. Future studies should explore best practices and address challenges to optimize the benefits of bilingual education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and its impact on the quality of learning. The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide freedom in the teaching and learning process, with an emphasis on the development of student competencies and character, and is expected to improve the quality of education at various levels, including madrasahs. Design/Methods/Approach: Using a research method that involves a literature review discussing the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and the issues faced in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah related to the impact on the quality of learning in the field. Findings: The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah has a positive impact on the quality of learning, particularly in enhancing student participation, the development of critical thinking skills, and collaborative abilities. Originality/Value: this research also identifies several challenges, such as limited resources and the need for intensive training for teachers to effectively implement the curriculum Practical/Policy implication: In conclusion, although the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum shows potential to improve the quality of learning, the success of its implementation heavily depends on adequate infrastructure support and the readiness of educators.

Abstract

Rural agribusiness workers in Kemiling Village face significant challenges in accessing global markets due to limited English proficiency, particularly in technical agricultural terminology and basic business communication. This community service program aimed to enhance vocational competencies through English-integrated training, addressing both linguistic barriers and agricultural skill gaps. Utilizing a participatory action research (PAR) approach combined with Hutchinson & Waters' (2017) ESP framework, the intervention implemented intensive workshops (10 sessions over 2 weeks) featuring: 1) contextualized agribusiness vocabulary acquisition, 2) simulated business negotiations, and 3) project-based evaluations. Results demonstrated measurable improvements: 72% of participants (n=25) mastered 50+ technical terms (pre-test: 20%), while 65% achieved functional transaction-level communication. The program also stimulated local innovation, evidenced by bilingual product labeling adoption in two UMKM. Findings validate that targeted vocational English training can effectively bridge rural-urban divides in global market participation, though sustained mentoring remains crucial for elder participants (35+ years) who showed slower adaptation. This model offers replicable strategies for human capital development in Indonesia's agricultural heartlands, particularly where language barriers constrain economic potential.

Abstract

The career readiness of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) students is a crucial factor in shaping competent educators in the field of education. This study aims to explore the implementation of instructional strategies to enhance the career readiness of PGMI students. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed, involving two classes of sixth-semester PGMI students at a university. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and academic document analysis. The findings indicate that practice-based learning strategies, such as microteaching, field experience practice (PPL), and project-based learning, significantly impact students' pedagogical competencies. Additionally, the integration of technology in the learning process helps students develop digital skills relevant to modern educational demands. Challenges in implementing these strategies include limited practical facilities, students' readiness to apply theoretical knowledge to practice, and the lack of a structured career development program. This study concludes that the implementation of more practical and experience-based learning strategies can enhance PGMI students' career readiness. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions strengthen collaborations with madrasahs and other educational institutions and develop more intensive training programs for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran penggunaan gadget dalam pembentukan pendidikan karakter peserta didik di MIN 7 Bandar Lampung. Fenomena meningkatnya akses siswa terhadap media sosial dan gim online mendorong perlunya kajian mengenai dampaknya terhadap nilai religius, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 15 siswa kelas IV–VI dan lima guru yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan tingkat keterlibatan dalam program pendidikan karakter. Selain itu, enam dokumen sekolah seperti RPP, laporan kegiatan P5, dan catatan kedisiplinan juga dianalisis untuk memperkuat temuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik dengan bantuan NVivo 14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget berlebihan (3–5 jam/hari) berdampak negatif terhadap konsentrasi belajar, interaksi sosial, dan kecenderungan meniru konten digital yang tidak sesuai norma. Namun, pemanfaatan gadget secara terarah melalui platform edukatif seperti Wordwall dan blended learning terbukti meningkatkan motivasi, kreativitas, dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Peran guru dan orang tua sangat menentukan, khususnya dalam membatasi durasi penggunaan, mengarahkan konten digital yang sesuai, serta membangun kolaborasi melalui media komunikasi daring. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan gadget dalam pendidikan karakter bersifat ambivalen: dapat melemahkan nilai karakter jika tanpa pengawasan, namun dapat menjadi sarana efektif untuk penguatan nilai positif jika diintegrasikan dalam strategi pembelajaran inovatif dan berbasis kolaborasi sekolah-keluarga.

Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk UMKM keripik pisang di Desa Rajabasa Lama II dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah kemasan yang sederhana dan kurangnya strategi pemasaran. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan pelaku UMKM diedukasi untuk menggunakan kemasan kontemporer dengan desain label dan logo, pemahaman strategi pemasaran digital, serta pengembangan varian rasa sebagai inovasi produk. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa kualitas kemasan, dan pemahaman tentang strategi pemasaran online dapat meningkatkan daya saing produk di pasar yang lebih luas. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan kecil dan menengah (UMKM) lokal dapat memperoleh nilai tambah yang signifikan dengan menerapkan inovasi dalam kemasan yang menarik dan pemasaran yang tepat. Usaha keripik pisang dan kerupuk, menunjukkan kepada mahasiswa KKN-T potensi ekonomi desa dari hasil pertanian dan pangan lokal. Bisnis ini telah berhasil menghasilkan makanan ringan yang disukai masyarakat dengan rasa unik dan harga terjangkau. Namun masih ada beberapa masalah umum yang sering ditemukan seperti kemasan produk yang tidak menarik, packaging yang tidak lengkap dan pemasaran offline yang terbatas.
