The problem of facilities and infrastructure is considered an important issue in education, therefore it is necessary to update the existing facilities and infrastructure starting from updating school buildings to learning facilities. This research to determine the effectiveness of using teaching aids on the interest and learning outcomes of science in class VII students at Junior high school 9 Kendari. The type of research used is Quasi-Experimental Design research in the form of Non-Equivalent Control Class Design. Data collection methods are carried out through questionnaires and tests The population of this study was all seventh grade students of Junior high school 9 Kendari which amounted to 11 study class, with the research sample being class VII 10 which amounted to 27 students as the control class and class VII 8 which amounted to 30 students as the experimental class. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential data analysis techniques. From the research conducted related to the effectiveness of the use of diorama teaching aids obtained research results that in learning, there are differences in interest and learning outcomes between the control class that does not use teaching aids with experimental classes that use teaching aids. In addition, based on the N-gain test, the use of diorama teaching aids proved to be effective with the category of medium effectiveness level. Keywords: Effectiveness, Teaching Aids, Interest in Learning, Learning Outcomes, N-Gain

Abstract

Along with the development of times and technology and with advances in this digitalization era, there is a fairly common problem, namely the decline in the percentage of interest in reading. Especially in Indonesia, the number of interest in reading is quite low. This research aims to find out: 1) Students' reading interest in science books 2) Students' reading interest in leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe, 3) The difference in students' reading interest in science books and leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe. The sample used was 72 students. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Quantitative research approach with comparative research type. The results showed: 1) Students' reading interest in science books is in the high category with an average reading interest of 58.86. 2) Students' reading interest in leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe is in the high category with an average reading interest of 85.19 3) There is a significant difference between students' reading interest in science books and students' reading interest in leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe with a comparison of the average interest in reading science books (58.86) and leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe (85.19). To conclude, there is a significant difference between students' reading interest in Integrated Science books and students' reading interest in leaflet media with the theme of local wisdom of the Tolaki tribe in class VIII students of SMPN 1 South Konawe.

Abstract

Watunohu Village is one of the villages in North Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, which has great potential in cocoa production. However, the utilization of cocoa beans, especially by the PKK group, is still limited to the traditional post-harvest stage without further processing. This activity aims to improve the skills and knowledge of PKK mothers in processing cocoa beans into cocoa flour that meets national standards (SNI) and is halal certified. This training is also expected to open up new business opportunities and improve community welfare. The training method used is the socialization method and direct demonstration with mentoring of joint practice with the community. The activity results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the cocoa bean processing process, as well as high enthusiasm for developing cocoa derivative products. Participants were able to produce cocoa flour that meets quality standards and has the potential to be developed as a superior village product. In addition, participants also gained an understanding of the importance of a production process that is by Islamic law so that the resulting product can be halal-certified. The training activity ended with the handover of cocoa flour-making technology to the Head of Watunohu Village.
