Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease characterized by high blood sugar levels caused by impaired insulin secretion in the body. The main chronic complications in diabetes mellitus sufferers are macrovascular, microvascular and neuropathy. One of the consequences of peripheral neuropathy is ulcers. To prevent trauma to the feet or ulcers, you can provide foot care. This research aims to develop the application of foot care that contains the risk of ulcers in diabetes mellitus sufferers in Sukarami Village. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. There were 3 respondents who suffered from diabetes mellitus with inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research was carried out by providing foot care interventions carried out for 4 consecutive days in diabetes mellitus sufferers. The results of implementing EBP showed that there was an improvement in the condition of the respondents' feet. It is hoped that the results of this research will increase independent foot care behavior to prevent the risk of ulcers.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by increased arterial blood pressure. Hypertension cannot be avoided, including in vulnerable groups such as the elderly because as age increases, the risk of hypertension increases so appropriate treatment is needed. Hypertension treatment can be done pharmacologically or non-pharmacologically. Non-pharmacological therapy in this case is foot soak therapy in warm water mixed with salt and lemongrass. The aim of the research is to implement warm water foot soak therapy with salt mixed with lemongrass for hypertensive patients into nursing care. The method used was descriptive with a killing process approach in 3 patients with a one group pretest posttest research design. The results of the warm water foot soak therapy mixed with salt and lemongrass showed a reduction in blood pressure, namely Mrs. N from 148/72mmHg to 138/64mmHg, Mrs. /85mmHg. In conclusion, there was a decrease in blood pressure after the foot soak therapy in warm water mixed with salt and lemongrass.

Abstract

Final semester exam is a learning evaluation that carried out after semester ends. Final semester exams are conducted to measure and assess student competency. In carrying out the exam, there are many things that need to be prepared, one of which is self-preparation. Students are prone to experience the risk of anxiety at certain moments, for example when they are about to carry out an exam. Factors that influence anxiety include environment, family, gender and age. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in high school students in facing their final semester exams. The research method used quantitative research using an analytic survey design with a cross sectional approach. Sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The population in this study are 300 student with sample study of 72 students. The results showed that there were 37 (51.4%) female gender, 47 (65.3%) 16 year old respondents, the majority of respondents received moderate family support as many as 42 respondents (58.3%) and the majority of respondents had anxiety levels being as much as 25 (34.7%). There is no significant relationship between family support and the level of anxiety in high school students who will take the final semester examination with a p-value of 0.995 (>0.05).

Abstract

Complications such as stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and heart failure can arise as a result of hypertension as a long-standing disease. Foot massage can help lower blood pressure and dilate blood vessels, reducing complications of hypertension. The aim of EBPN is to analyze the application of Evidence Based Practice Nursing (EBPN) foot massage therapy in hypertensive patients. The method for implementing EBPN through case studies uses a descriptive method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach to foot massage therapy (3 times for 15 minutes in 3 consecutive days) to reduce blood pressure. The sample consisted of 1 female respondent and 2 male respondents. The tensimeter and observation sheet are the measuring tools used. EBPN results: All 3 (100%) respondents had suffered from hypertension for > 5 years. There was a change in blood pressure before and after the intervention with the results: respondent 1 BP 139/85 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg, respondent 2 BP 139/88 mmHg to BP 130/82 mmHg, and respondent 3 BP 147/97 mmHg to BP 138/89 mmHg. The average decrease in systolic blood pressure in the 3 respondents was 8.5 mmHg, while diastole decreased by an average of 5.8 mmHg. The suggestion for hypertension sufferers is that hospital staff can offer foot massage as a method to lower blood pressure to patients suffering from hypertension.

Abstract

A hernia is a protrusion of the abdominal wall into another body cavity (hip or pelvis, chest or thorax). One of the procedures performed in cases of hernia is surgery called herniorrhaphy. Surgery is an invasive treatment procedure through incisions to open the part of the body that will be treated surgically, which will cause pain. The pain felt after surgery is acute pain. Acute pain can complicate the healing process which can hinder the patient's ability to mobilize, rehabilitate and be hospitalized. One of the non-pharmacological therapies used to reduce pain is finger-hold relaxation therapy. Finger grip relaxation is a simple technique that combines breathing and holding a hand on each finger which can help control emotions and stress. It is hoped that this method can stimulate the brain to produce positive hormones and reduce cortisol secretion so that pain is reduced. Finger grip therapy intervention can help patients reduce the scale of pain felt after surgery. The case study used a descriptive method with a nursing process approach which was carried out on 3 respondents aged 67 - 76 using a One Group Pretest Posttest research design which was measured using the NRS instrument for 3 days. The results showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale in respondents after being given finger grip relaxation therapy.

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic disease characterized by airway hyperactivity due to inflammation and reversible airflow obstruction. The most common triggers of asthma are allergies (food or inhalants such as dander, dust, pollen), exposure to cold temperatures, and upper respiratory infections. Non-pharmacological therapy can be carried out with the buteyko breathing technique which aims to reduce dyspnea, asthma attacks, wheezing, reduce symptoms of nasal congestion and stop coughing experienced by sufferers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of buteyko exercise on dyspnea symptoms in asthma sufferers. The research method used was a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest to see differences in the dyspnea scale in the intervention group before and after the buteyko exercise. The results of the pre-test and post-test statistics p = 0.025 <0.05 where there were differences in the dyspnea scale after being given buteyko exercises. Prior to the Buteyko exercise, it was shown that 4 respondents (40%) had mild dyspnea, 4 respondents (40%) had mild, 2 respondents (20%) were mild. After doing the buteyko exercise, it was shown that 7 respondents (70%) had mild dyspnea, 3 respondents (30%) had mild symptoms. Research shows that there is a decrease in the level of dyspnea after being given buteyko exercises with an average dyspnea scale decreasing (negative rank) with a result of 3.00. It was concluded that there were differences in the dyspnea scale after being given buteyko exercises, that there were significant results for a decrease in the dyspnea scale in asthma sufferers.
