Abstract

This study dealt students’ English speaking by using Community Language Learning (CLL) through Students English Association of LP3I (SEAL). It used qualitative research design. It was conducted descriptively. This study aimed to know the increasing of students’ English speaking by using Community Language Learning (CLL) through Students English Association of LP3I (SEAL) at Politeknik LP3I Medan. The subjects were 55 students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. The use of instruments in this study was observation, interview and documentation. The theory of Koba, Ogawa & Wilkinson was used in this study. The data were analyzed by Miles, Huberman and Saldana analysis. The result of this study was Community Language Learning (CLL) had good result for students’ learning and can increase students’ English speaking at Politeknik LP3I Medan. This learning method was appropriate implemented to students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. Based on the data, all of response and result of this learning method got positive result and effect through the students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. This learning method can also upgrade students’ knowledge in speaking and got more vocabulary after implementing this activity. CLL can make the students happy and enjoy in studying English without forcing them to speak English. CLL can also make students brave and self-confidence to speak up in front of public.

Abstract

The objective of this research were to determine the effect of democratic leadership style on performance of employees at PT. Medan Industry Area (Persero). The purpose of this research was to determine how the influence of democratic leadership style on performance of employees at PT. Medan Industry Area (Persero) ". Sources of data in this research are employees of PT. Medan Industry Area (Persero), with a population and a sample of 40 people (Respondents). The data was collected using a questionnaire and dating analysis using the SPSS 25 application. And the data collected using a questionnaire will then be tested for validity, reliability test, f test, and test the coefficient of determination. The results of this research indicate that the determination coefficient test (R2) in table 4:23 shows that the magnitude of the influence of the democratic leadership style is 0.069, this means that the democratic leadership style has an influence on employee performance. Thus it can be concluded that this indicates that the democratic leadership style is very good. And in the F test table 4.22 below, the value of Fcount > Ftable, the value of Fcount can be seen at the percentage point of the f test. Then the independent variable (X) (independent), namely leadership style (3.908> 4.09), has a significant effect on employee performance (dependent). Thus it can be concluded that with the influence of democratic leadership styles on employee performance, employees will be increasingly motivated to be able to provide good and maximum work results, and will direct all their abilities to improve performance, so they will be able to complete their tasks properly. And with the resulting Adjusted R Square value of 6.9% the effect and the rest is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

This study dealt lecturers’ feedback on students’ reading at Politeknik LP3I Medan. This study aimed to find out lecturers’ feedback on students’ reading at Politeknik LP3I Medan. This study used the theory from Ellis (2009). Methodology of this study used qualitative research by Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2014), it was interactive method. The collecting data of this study was observation and recording students and lecturers’ utterances on learning process in reading class. The recording was transcribed to find out the data related to the study. The result of this study, there were direct feedback and indirect feedback. There were four process of feedback that implemented in learning process on reading class, they are explicit correction, metalinguistic comment, recast and repetition. Process of feedback was not related to the theory from Ellis (2009). There were six processes of feedback by Ellis (2009). They were explicit correction, metalinguistic comment, recast, repetition, elicitation and clarification request. In this study, researcher did not find two processes of feedback, they were elicitation and clarification request.

Abstract

Digital marketing is one of the marketing methods used by MSME actors to develop their businesses. The increased use of the internet has led people to engage in modern marketing and abandon conventional marketing methods. This community service activity aims to help the problems faced by Tan Collection MSMEs. The solution offered in this activity is to implement digital marketing using Instagram. Through activities involving interviews and socialization, this aims to provide knowledge about the basic concepts of digital marketing, effective strategies, in enhancing online marketing through social media. Some digital marketing strategies that can be applied by Tan Collection MSMEs include planning a consistent posting schedule, selecting engaging content, utilizing features like Stories and Reels, or conducting live sessions. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that it can become knowledge and insight for SMEs in developing their businesses.

Abstract

Employee performance has a significant impact on both individual achievement and the overall success of the organization. Motivation is closely related to goal-directed behavior. Employees who consistently perform routine tasks may experience boredom, eventually leading to decreased productivity and performance. At UPT RSUD Bangun Purba, issues such as uneven workload distribution and a lack of initiative among employees have been observed. Additionally, varying levels of employee understanding often lead to miscommunication regarding assigned tasks. This study aims to determine the influence of work motivation on employee performance at UPT RSUD Bangun Purba. This quantitative research was conducted at UPT RSUD Bangun Purba. The population consists of all employees, with a total sample of 30 using total sampling. The study uses both primary and secondary data sourced internally and externally. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires, and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, simple linear regression, partial tests, and the coefficient of determination, with the help of SPSS version 22. The results show that female respondents outnumber male respondents, most are aged 30–41 years, and the majority hold a bachelor’s degree. The analysis meets normality assumptions and shows no heteroscedasticity. The hypothesis test shows that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a t-value of 4.226 2.05183 and significance of 0.000 (p 0.05). The coefficient of determination test shows an R Square value of 48.9%, meaning that work motivation accounts for 48.9% of performance outcomes, while the remaining 51.1% is influenced by other undetected factors.
