Abstract

Public Relations (PR) plays an important role in the school's reputation and the education delivery process. Public relations functions to support relationships and a good name to the community. This good relationship can help obtain public support so that students can realize the school's vision and mission. The research  method used is a case study, which will examine public relations strategies including planning, implementation and evaluation of activities carried out to improve the school's image. The results of the research show that the Public Relations strategy of SDIT Iqra' 1 in the city of Bengkulu carried out several stages including: 1) Planning, SDIT Iqra' 1 set specific, measurable and relevant goals, such as increasing recognition of academic achievements and strengthening relationships with the community. This plan includes developing a consistent message and choosing effective communication channels to reach the target audience. 2) Implementation, SDIT Iqra' 1 utilizes various media, including social media (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok), digital tabloids, and radio broadcasts to disseminate information and reach a wider audience, then carry out social activities for the community such as the Friday sharing program and sharing sacrificial meat during the Eid al-Adha holiday, 3) The evaluation carried out by SD IT Iqra' 1 includes media analysis, long-term impacts, and community involvement.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran media online pedomanbengkulu.com dalam menghadapi fenomena victim-blaming pada berita kekerasan seksual berbasis gender, menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis ekologi media. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi wawancara serta dokumentasi. Didapatkan hasil pada media online pedomanbengkulu.com lebih meminimalisir fenomena victim-blaming pada berita kasus kekerasan seksual, dengan memperbanyak jumlah berita, karena pada media online pedomanbengkulu.com banyak rubrik berita yang disediakan, setiap hari kolom-kolom rubrik berita diisi dengan berita yang bermanfaat dan informatif, sehingga tidak perlu membuat berita dengan unsur fenomena victim-blaming dan lebih menerbitkan berita yang informatif dan bermanfaat untuk masyarakat. Saran dari penelitian ini meningkatkan kesadaran dan edukasi bagi pelaku jurnalisme di media online terkait dampak negatif dari victim-blaming serta pentingnya memberikan liputan yang lebih empatik dan sensitif terhadap korban kekerasan seksual. Diharapkan media online dapat menciptakan lingkungan informasi yang aman dan menghormati hak-hak korban kekerasan seksual berbasis gender dengan menghindari fenomena victim-blaming. Langkah-langkah seperti meningkatkan fokus pada pencegahan, edukasi, dan dukungan bagi korban, serta memberikan liputan yang empatik dan sensitif, dapat membangun kesadaran publik yang lebih luas tentang pentingnya mengubah pandangan dan sikap terhadap victim-blaming. Abstract. This study aims to examine the role of the online media pedomanbengkulu.com in addressing the phenomenon of victim-blaming in news related to gender-based sexual violence, using a qualitative descriptive analysis with a media ecology approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that pedomanbengkulu.com significantly minimizes victim-blaming in its news articles about sexual violence cases by increasing the quantity of informative and beneficial news content,  pedomanbengkulu.com offers various news rubrics, which provide useful and informative articles daily. As a result, there is no need to resort to victim-blaming elements in their news coverage, thus promoting informative and valuable content for the community. Recommendations arising from this study include increasing awareness and education among online media journalists about the negative impact of victim-blaming and the importance of providing more empathetic and sensitive coverage to victims of sexual violence. It is hoped that online media can take further steps to create a safe information environment that respects the rights and dignity of gender-based sexual violence victims. In doing so, news coverage can focus on prevention, education, and support for victims, while contributing to a broader public awareness of the significance of changing attitudes and behaviors towards victim-blaming phenomena.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat mempermudah penyebaran informasi, termasuk informasi budaya K-pop khususnya melalui media sosial. Media sosial memungkinkan penggemar untuk berinteraksi langsung dengan konten K-pop, mulai dari mengikuti akun resmi idol, menyukai dan membagikan konten, hingga terlibat dalam interaksi penggemar. Platform ini memungkinkan pembentukan perilaku dan gaya hidup yang selaras dengan budaya K-pop secara global. Platform media sosial dalam memainkan peran besar untuk penyebaran budaya K-pop di dunia khususnya X. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan peran media sosial khususnya X dalam membentuk perilaku budaya K-pop pada anggota komunitas Stayville Bengkulu. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis resepsi. Menerapkan teknik purposive sampling untuk menentukan informan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan Teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap; yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa media sosial berperan penting dalam memperkenalkan K-pop. Melalui platform X yang menjadi salah satu sumber informasi utama dan sarana penggemar untuk terhubung dan berbagi konten. Informasi K-pop melalui X membentuk gaya hidup, perilaku sehari-hari, dan keputusan pembelian merchandise, serta mendorong eksplorasi budaya Korea. Selain itu, juga membantu penggemar berinteraksi dengan sesama anggota komunitas seperti Stayville, yang menawarkan solidaritas dan dukungan serta menegaskan peran signifikan informasi K-pop X dalam membentuk identitas, perilaku, dan hubungan sosial penggemar.

Abstract

Rendahnya tayangan konten lokal pada media televisi Sistem Siaran Jaringan hampir menyeluruh di Indonesia, salah satunya pada provinsi Bengkulu, hal ini menggambarkan keberpihakan perusahaan media yang lebih memprioritaskan tayangan nasional dan kuranya dukungan dari pemerintah di  setiap daerah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana komitmen dari media televisi Sistem Siaran Jaringan dalam menayangkan konten lokal Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, informan penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan berdasarkan fungsi dan tugas. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi, unit analisis hasil penelitian menggunakan teori Ekonomi Politik Media Vincent Mosco, teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis Interaktif model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat beberapa media televisi Sistem Siaran Jaringan yang sudah berkomitmen dan beberapa media yang belum berkomitmen menayangkan konten lokal Bengkulu, terdapat juga beberapa kendala atau hambatan yang terjadi pada televisi Sistem Siaran Jaringan baik itu dalam proses produksi maupun saat penayangan konten lokal seperti, terbatasnya Sumber Daya Manusia, biaya yang sangat besar, peralatan yang kurang, keterikatan dengan produksi pusat, serta tidak adanya sanksi tegas dari Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Pusat maupun dari Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Daerah Bengkulu.

Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Clone Journalism Practices and Violations of Journalistic Ethics (Case Study of Press Company Organizations in Bengkulu Local Media)". The aim of this research is to present the practice of cloned journalism and violations of journalistic ethics in case studies of press company organizations in the local Bengkulu media. This research uses a descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. In the practice of cloning journalism and violations of journalistic ethics based on the code of ethics guidelines created by the Press Council and regulated in Law No. 40 of 1999. By paying attention to news elements such as news titles, leads, news content, and quotations using Galtung's gate keeper theory and Ruge (McQuail, 2010:310). The research results show that local media in Bengkulu have carried out the practice of cloning journalism on news published in their respective media. Researchers also found that the media that most often practice clone journalism are media that are members of the Benkulu press company organization, namely the Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI). The practice of cloning journalism is an ethical violation committed by many elements. Starting from journalists, and editors to editor-in-chief. This practice is carried out systematically and the editors do not function in editing and editing news. The practice of cloning journalism is a violation of journalistic ethics in article 2 which states that Indonesian journalists must use professional methods in carrying out journalistic practices.

Abstract

This study explores the role of nonverbal communication in shaping the “good looking” criteria during the recruitment process of female frontliners at BRI Bank Bengkulu. Appearance and nonverbal cues are often perceived as indicators of professionalism and service quality in the banking sector. Using Berger and Luckmann’s social construction theory, the study analyzes how beauty standards are formed and sustained through the processes of externalization, objectification, and internalization. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven informants, consisting of Human Resource staff and prospective female applicants, along with documentation of company recruitment policies. The findings reveal that nonverbal communication elements—such as facial expressions, body posture, grooming, and attire play a significant role in constructing an image of professionalism and trustworthiness. However, the “good looking” standard also creates psychological pressure and perceived discrimination among candidates who do not meet visual expectations. These beauty oriented criteria, while reinforcing the corporate image, tend to overshadow technical competence and merit-based assessment. The study concludes that the overemphasis on physical appearance in recruitment reflects a socially constructed norm that perpetuates inequality and calls for a more balanced evaluation system emphasizing skill, competence, and personality.

Abstract

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has long encouraged the use of renewable energy, but in fact there are still many people who use primary energy. Seeing this, the idea emerged from the Community Service Team by Bengkulu University lecturers to design and implement Solar Power Plants (PLTS). This renewable energy idea was implemented at the Qoryah Thoyyibah mosque, Kandang Limun Kota Bengkulu. The purpose of this service is the implementation of Appropriate Technology, namely PLTS for alternative energy supply at the Qoryah Thoyibah Mosque facility. So that if there is a power outage by PLN, the facilities at the Qoryah Thoyyibah Mosque can still operate according to their functions. This service method is carried out by two methods, namely counseling and implementation of PLTS Appropriate Technology. It is hoped that in the future by designing and building PLTS as an alternative energy source at the Qoryah Thoyyibah Kandang Limun mosque in Bengkulu City, the backup electricity supply will be fulfilled and we will not always depend on PLN, besides that it can also reduce the monthly cost of electricity at the Qoryah Thoyyibah Mosque. The result of Community Service activities with the 2023 Development scheme is that PLTS has been installed with an AC source to operate lighting lamps with a capacity of 100 WP for PLTS and lamps of 800 Watts. So that it can be operated as a source of lighting for Qoryah Thoyyibah mosque facilities in a state where there is no source from PLN.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand the interpersonal communication of caregivers in forming an attitude of independence for ABK at the Bina Netra Amal Mulia Social Home in Bengkulu City, as well as to determine the motives and goals of caregivers in working. Children who live in social institutions really need a substitute role for their parents. As time goes by, the child's communication context will be determined by the caregiver. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The data in the research were collected using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The theory used is interpersonal communication theory with a humanistic approach from Joseph A. DeVito, and social phenomenology theory from Alfred Schutz to see motives, causes and goals. The findings in this research show that interpersonal communication between caregivers in forming an attitude of independence with ABK, the aspect of openness plays a big role in interpersonal communication between caregivers and ABK in this social institution, this aspect of openness can be the first step in interpersonal communication that can run smoothly in the future . There are obstacles when caregivers carry out interpersonal communication with ABK, these obstacles are in the form of semantic barriers, physical barriers and psychological barriers. The motives for working for caregivers in social institutions have different backgrounds. Even though they have different work backgrounds have the same goal, namely, apart from earning money for family needs, caregivers also aim to worship, do charity and be useful.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motiavasi pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi melalui postingan Instagram @folkative pada remaja akhir hingga dewasa awal. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu remaja akhir hingga dewasa awal dengan rentang usia delapan belas tahun sampai dengan dua puluh empat tahun dengan status sebagai pelajar SMA kelas dua belas maupun mahasiswa yang merupakan pengikut instagram @folkative terhitung sejak bulan Juni tahun 2021 yang berdomisili di Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan fenomenalogi yang berhubungan dengan pemahaman tentang kehidupan keseharian dan dunia intersubjektif (dunia kehidupan) pastisipan. Data yang dikumpulkan diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan juga studi kepustakaan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi kalangan remaja akhir hingga dewasa awal dapat terpenuhi yang didasari oleh beragam jenis motivsai, yaitu gaya hidup, pekerjaan, integrasi personal, dan kehidupan sosial.

Abstract

The media, in constructing the reality of problems in the news, certainly has their own point of view. Media content is not a reflection of the reality of what is actually happening, but has been formed by the media itself with the background of the ideology and interests of the media concerned. This research aims to analyze how infrastructure damage in mass media news with an emphasis on aspects of public interest. Through the framing analysis approach, this research tries to examine the way the mass media frames the issue of road damage, including the causal factors, the impact felt by the community, and the proposed solutions. The research method used is a qualitative method to analyze news articles related to road damage in Bengkulu Province from the media source TribunBengkulu.com. Several news articles were analyzed to identify the framing patterns used by the media. The results showed that TribunBengkulu.com tends to highlight road damage in Bengkulu Province as a significant problem for people's daily lives, with an emphasis on the importance of immediate repairs and the responsibility of the local government. The implications of these findings are the need for framing that takes into account the interests of the public in presenting accurate and relevant information about road damage, as well as the importance of an honest and fair role of the media in building awareness and support.
