Abstract

Introduction: The onset of lactation is the beginning of the breastfeeding process, marked by breast tenderness and the release of colostrum, which occurs ≤72 hours after delivery. Objective: This study aims to explore the onset of lactation in postpartum mothers at Private Midwifery Practices. Method: The study used a descriptive study method involving 83 postpartum mothers in 5 independent midwife practices in Surabaya. Statistical analysis used descriptive statistics through frequency distribution. Result and Discussion: Most postpartum mothers were in the reproductive age group (85.5%) and multiparous (73.5%). However, most postpartum mothers did not engage in Early Initiation of Breastfeeding immediately after giving birth (92.8%). Seventy-three percent of mothers had moderate knowledge about lactation, and 80.7% experienced a rapid onset of lactation. Conclusion: The onset of lactation is an important part that determines the success of breastfeeding to meet the nutritional needs of the baby

Abstract

Digital transformation in the health sector has accelerated the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a strategic innovation to improve the quality of healthcare services. AI has the capability to process large volumes of health data quickly and accurately, thereby supporting clinical decision-making, enhancing service efficiency, and improving patient safety. However, the implementation of AI in Indonesia still faces several challenges, particularly related to the readiness of human resources, infrastructure limitations, data security, and ethical and regulatory issues. This study aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence in improving the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia based on a review of recent literature. The research employed a literature review method with a systematic review approach guided by the PRISMA framework. Literature searches were conducted using PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases, focusing on articles published between 2020 and 2025. Out of 3,380 identified articles, five studies met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were selected for further analysis. The findings indicate that the implementation of AI contributes positively to the improvement of healthcare service quality, particularly in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, patient safety, and timeliness of care. AI enhances diagnostic accuracy, supports clinical decision-making, optimizes administrative and clinical processes, and improves the quality of nursing care through real-time patient monitoring and more accurate documentation. Nevertheless, the implementation of AI remains constrained by limited healthcare workforce competencies, inadequate technological infrastructure, and concerns related to data security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks. In conclusion, Artificial Intelligence holds significant potential as a strategic instrument for improving the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia. Optimizing the use of AI requires strengthening human resource capacity, developing adequate technological infrastructure, and establishing clear policies and regulations to ensure the ethical, secure, and sustainable application of AI in healthcare services.

Abstract

The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in schools must begin at the elementary level, considering that elementary school is a golden period for instilling clean and healthy living habits. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge scores of students before and after being given education on PHBS. This study used a descriptive epidemiological design. The study population consisted of all 4th grade students at SDN 35 Gresik. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique, so all 49 students were included as respondents. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and using a paired t-test to determine the effectiveness of increasing students’ knowledge before and after the intervention. The results showed that the students involved in this study consisted of 23 male and 26 female students. There was an increase in the average knowledge score from 77.55 in the pre-test to 86.12 in the post-test. This increase was also accompanied by a decrease in the standard deviation, indicating that the variation in scores among students became more uniform after the education was given. Based on the paired t-test, the p-value was less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. Thus, PHBS education proved to have a real effect on increasing the knowledge of 4th grade students at SDN 35 Gresik.

Abstract

Abstract

Self-efficacy is a crucial determinant affecting the quality of nursing care. Nurses who lack confidence in their ability to deliver quality patient care may precipitate unforeseen incidents that adversely affect the standard of nursing care (Nita & Agustika, 2023). Therapeutic Employee Performance is essential; it is a deliberately strategised and concentrated form of Employee Performance that seeks to facilitate the patient's recovery. All actions and communications from the nurse must be therapeutic for the patient. This study examines nurses' self-efficacy and therapeutic Employee Performance models regarding patient satisfaction. The employed research strategy is a correlational analysis using a cross-sectional design. The sample comprises 100 inpatients at Wijaya Kusuma Hospital, chosen through accidental sampling. The research variables include self-efficacy, therapeutic employee performance, and patient satisfaction. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires, and the data were processed through editing, coding, scoring, and tabulation steps. Subsequently, it underwent analysis using regression testing. The research revealed a P-value of 0.000, demonstrating a significant link among self-efficacy, therapeutic employee performance, and patient satisfaction. This strong association indicates that self-efficacy and therapeutic employee performance may significantly enhance patient satisfaction, thereby benefiting patient visits.
