Abstract

This research aims to determine damage to gill and liver tissue through histopathological analysis and the hematological picture of catfish seeds produced by farmers in Airnona, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. A total of 100 fish seeds were taken randomly from the hatchery pond. Hematological observations are carried out by making blood smears, while histopathological observations are carried out by making histology preparations. Hematological and histopathological observations were carried out using a microscope at 140-800X magnification. The histopathological analysis of the gills showed damage, including mucus cell proliferation, epithelial lifting, edema, necrosis, vacuoles, and parasitic investment. The liver shows damage in vacuoles, hemosiderin, congestion, the presence of Melano Macrophage Center (MMC), sinuses, fatty degeneration, and hemorrhage. Abnormalities in blood cells observed in blood smears of fish seeds include spherocytes, lacerated membranes, blebbed nuclei, lysis, and necrosis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study described the influence and the dose of guava leaf raw extract (P. guajava) as an immunostimulant towards liver histotapologi Patin (Pangasius sp.) Challenge tested A. hydrophila bacteria. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used was of guava leaf extract doses A dose of 2% (2.4 g / 120 g), and 4% (4.8 g / 120 g), C 6% (7.2 g / 120 g) and K without a guava leaf extract and tested bacteria A. hydrophila challenge. Based on the results obtained in the study of liver histopathology Patin (Pangasius sp.), there was damage Inflammation and necrosis of the liver tissue in order from the most severe damage to the least obtained at treatment K (0%) 3,07, A ( 2%) 2.53, B (4%) of 2.33, and the best treatment is C (6%) with an average damage of 1.67. Necrosis of liver tissue damage in a sequence of severe damage to the least, namely the treatment of K (0%) 2,67, A (2%) 2.33, B (4%) 2.20, and C (6%) 1,53. Lowest average gained in treatment C (6%). The results showed that the dose can reduce the level of tissue damage that was at a dose of 6% (7.2 g / 120 g). The best dose is 6% (7.2 g / 120 g), which can reduce the level of damage indicate the level of tissue damage smaller percentage of damage 6-25%.

Abstract

Abstract This observation-based study evaluates the seed production practices of Silver Pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) at the Lombok Marine Aquaculture Center (BPBL Lombok), West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. BPBL Lombok is a key facility for marine aquaculture, focusing on breeding species such as the star snapper in an environment with optimal water quality and well-equipped facilities. The study investigates broodstock management, including hormonal induction for spawning, and the growth and grading processes of fry at various developmental stages. Stocking densities were adjusted based on size, and water quality parameters were closely monitored to ensure the survival and growth of the fry. The study also examines the impact of feed management, gonad maturation, and water quality control on the survival rate (SR) of T. blochii fry, with the results indicating a typical SR of 50%, with optimal management. The findings contribute valuable insights for improving Silver Pomfret breeding practices and highlight the importance of sustainable aquaculture techniques for the development of marine fish farming in Indonesia.
