Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sex ratio in mating Kokok Balenggek Chicken (KBC) to fertility,hatchability and hatching weight. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment of sexratio at KBC mating that is : 1: 5, 1: 7, 1: 9 and 1: 11. Each treatment is repeated 4 times and each repeat consist of 5items egg. The variables observed were fertility, hatchability and hatching weight. The results of the diversity analysisshowed that the difference in sex ratio in mating of KBC resulted in an unstable difference (P>0.05) to fertility (85.00 ±10.00%, 75.00 ± 25.17%, 80.00 ± 16.33 %, 65,00 ± 10,00%), hatchability (77,50 ± 16,58%, 66,25 ± 26,89%, 71,25 ±21,75%, 60,42 ± 18,48% ) and hatching weight (29.74 ± 0.44 gr, 30.01 ± 0.82 gr, 29.34 ± 0.28 gr, 30.47 ± 0.51 gr). Itcan be concluded that the sex ratio of 1:11 in the mating of KBC produces fertility, hatchability and hatching weightthat is not different from the sex ratio of 1: 5, 1: 7 and 1: 9. Sex ratio of 1 : 11 can be recommended in KBC mating.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the nutritional balance of adult female dairy cows at UPTD Puskeswan PadangPanjang. The livestock used in this study were all adult female dairy cows (who had given birth) from the FriesHolland breed that were kept in the breeding cage of UPTD Puskeswan Padang Panjang City with physiologicalstatus, namely 1 pregnant lactation, 5 non-pregnant cows and dry pregnant cages as much as 2 tails. The variablesmeasured in this study were the consumption of dry matter (DM) feed, consumption of TDN, consumption of crudeprotein (CP) and consumption of calcium (Ca). The data obtained every day were then tabulated based on the range ofconsumption of DM, the range of TDN consumption, the range of CP consumption and the range of Ca consumptionfor dairy cows / head / day and then compared with the standards from the National Research Council (NRC) 1978table. The analysis was carried out descriptively. Descriptive analysis was used to explain nutrient balance. From theresults of the study it can be concluded: 1) dry matter consumption of all lactating cows and dry cows in pregnantcows is higher than the need, 2) consumption of TDN and calcium for lactating cows with milk production below 5 kg /head / day and dry cows with pregnant cows with body weight 400 kg is higher than the need, while the consumptionof TDN and calcium from lactating cows with milk production above 5 kg / head / day and pregnant cows with a bodyweight of 500 kg is lower than the need and 3) consumption of crude protein (CP) of all lactating cows and pregnantpen dry cows with a body weight of 500 kg lower than the need, however the consumption of CP for pregnant cowswith a body weight of 400 kg is higher than the need. In order to increase the productivity of the dairy cows that arekept, it is recommended that the managers of the UPTD Puskeswan Padang Panjang City improve the balance offorage and concentrate. To achieve a balance of 60% forage: 40% concentrate, fresh forage was given as much as30.78 kg / head / day and concentrate was given as much as 20.52 kg / head / day.

Abstract

This study aims to make a morphological identification of the rumen contents of moles given a different source of glucose as an energy supply for microorganisms contained in Mol solution. In the process of making moles, it is also compared to aerobically and anaerobically. There are six types of moles which are made from the contents of the rumen with different compositions, namely: 1. Rumen contents + molasses + tofu water anaerobically, 2. Rumen liquid + molasses + soaked soybean aerobically, 3.1 rumen content + rice water + molasses an aerobically, 4. Fill the rumen + sugar + soybean water. The four mixtures of local microorganisms were incubated for 7 days. The results of the microbial identification observations were discussed descriptively. Based on the results of microbial identification, there are types of bacteria bacillus sp, and the fungus Candida sp.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu lingkungan di kota Solok terhadap suhu rektal, konsumsi pakan dan konsumsi air minum burung puyuh. Puyuh yang digunakan berumur 5 minggu, diperoleh dari pembibitan puyuh di Nagari Cupak, Kabupaten Solok. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu rataan suhu lingkungan di waktu pagi (22,63 ± 1,040C), siang (32,14 ± 1,370C), sore (31,02 ± 1,280C) dan malam (25,46 ± 0,660C). Masing masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Peubah yang diukur adalah suhu rektal, konsumsi pakan dan konsumsi air minum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan suhu lingkungan di waktu siang dan sore sangat nyata meningkatkan suhu rektal dan konsumsi air minum dibandingkan suhu rektal dan konsumsi air minum di waktu pagi dan malam, namun suhu lingkungan di waktu siang dan sore sangat nyata menurunkan konsumsi pakan dibandingkan konsumsi pakan di waktu pagi dan malam. Dapat disimpulkan suhu lingkungan di kota Solok memberikan pengaruh terhadap suhu rektal, konsumsi pakan dan konsumsi air minum burung puyuh

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of fermentation time for rice straw and tithonia (Tithonia diversifolia) on the in-vitro digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein as ruminant feed ingredients. The experiment was carried out using a Randomized Block Design with 4 treatments and 4 groups. The treatments in this study were a combination of rice straw and tithonia without fermented by local microorganisms (P0) as a control, a combination of rice straw and tithonia by local microorganisms and 0 days incubation (P1), a combination of rice straw and tithonia by local microorganisms and length incubated for 7 days (P2). , a combination of rice straw and tithonia by local microorganisms was length incubated for 14 days (P3). Based on the results of statistical analysis, shows that the fermentation time of rice straw and tithonia (Tithonia diversifolia) with local microorganisms in the contents of the cow's rumen has an insignificantly different effect (P>0.05) on dry matter digestibility and crude protein digestibility and had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the digestibility of organic matter.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan susu sapi pada suhu ruang setelah pembekuan terhadap uji alkohol, pH dan total koloni bakteri. Penelitian ini dilakukan di laboratorium Bioteknologi Reproduksi Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Andalas Padang. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu lama penyimpanan susu sapi pada suhu ruang setelah pembekuan yaitu P0 (0 jam atau tanpa penyimpanan), P1 (6 jam), P2 (6,5 jam) dan P3 (7 jam). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Peubah yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah : pH, uji alkohol dan total koloni bakteri (TPC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan lama penyimpanan susu sapi pada suhu kamar setelah pembekuan menghasilkan uji alkohol dan TPC yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), namun menghasilkan pH yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01), dimana lama penyimpanan 6 dan 6,5 jam menghasilkan pH masing-masing sebesar 6,90 dan 6,85 yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), tapi sangat nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,01) dari pH untuk lama penyimpanan 7 jam (6,73) dan tanpa penyimpanan (6,60). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi terhadap bobot yolk, bobot albumen, skor warna yolk dan bobot telur itik lokal yang dipelihara dengan sistim ekstensif dan intensif. Telur itik yang digunakan sebanyak 90 butir yang diperoleh dari 3 orang peternak untuk masing masing sistim pemeliharan, sehingga jumlah seluruh telur yang digunakan sebanyak 180 butir. Analisis terhadap data yang didapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Z dua sampel bebas. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa bobot yolk (25,99 ±2,64 g), bobot albumen, skor warna yolk dan bobot telur itik yang dipelihara secara ekstensif menghasilkan perbedaan dengan bobot yolk, bobot albumen, skor warna yolk dan bobot telur itik yang dipelihara secara intensif. Dapat disimpulkan perbedaan sistim pemeliharaan itik lokal secara ekstensif dan intensif menghasilkan pula perbedaan terhadap bobot yolk, bobot albumen, skor warna yolk dan bobot telur, dimana bobot yolk, bobot albumen dan bobot telur itik ekstensif lebih tinggi dari bobot yolk, bobot albumen dan bobot telur itik yang dipelihara secara intensif, sedangkan pemeliharaan itik secara intensif menghasilkan skor warna yolk yang lebih tinggi dari skor warna yolk itik yang dipelihara secara ekstensif.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of fermentation time for rice straw and tithonia (Tithonia diversifolia) on local microorganisms in the rumen of cows. This research was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and 4 replications. Treatments consisted of P0 (Combination of rice straw and tithonia without local microorganisms), P1 (Combination of rice straw and tithonia with 0 Day Incubation ), P2 (Combination of rice straw and tithonia with 7 Day Incubation ), and P3 (Combination of rice straw and tithonia with 14 Day Incubation. The variables measured are NDF, ADF, and Cellulose. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of fermentation of rice straw and tithonia with local microorganisms in the rumen content had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on NDF, ADF, and Cellulose. Based on this research, it shows that the combination of rice straw and tithonia can increase the content of NDF, ADF, and Cellulose.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of adding red passion fruit juice (Passiflora edulis) on fat content, protein content, and elongation of mozzarella cheese. This research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments, namely giving red passion fruit (Passiflora edulis) (0%, 6%, 8%, and 10%) with 4 repetitions. The research results on the average fat content for each treatment were, P0 (15.97%), P1 (15.33%), P2 (13.25%), and P3 (12.69%). protein is P0 (21.70%), P1 (22.29%), P2 (23.24%), P3 (23.86%). The results of the research on the average elongation are, P0 (66.50cm), P1 ( 83.50cm), P2 (85.25cm), and P3 (91.25cm). Based on the research results it can be concluded that giving red passion fruit juice (Passiflora edulis) has a very significant effect (P<0.01) on fat content and protein content and was not significantly different (P>0.05) on the elongation of mozzarella cheese. The best treatment was found in the treatment without the addition of red passion fruit juice (Passiflora edulis) for protein and fat content while the best elongation was obtained in the treatment with the addition of 10% red passion fruit juice (Passiflora edulis).

Abstract

This study aims to study the physiological response shown by broiler chickens to cage temperatures at different times. A completely randomised design was used in this research, with three treatments and five replications of each. The treatments were the average temperature of the cage in the afternoon (30.15oC) , afternoon (27.04oC), and morning (26.01 °C). Each treatment was repeated six times, and each replication consisted of 5 chickens. The variables measured in this study are respiratory rate, heart rate, and rectal temperature in broiler chickens. If the results of the analysis of variance show that there is a significant difference between treatments, it is continued with the Duncan Multiple Range test. The results showed that the temperature of the cage during the day significantly increased the frequency of breathing of broiler chickens (74.90 times/minute), heart rate (279.50 times/minute), and rectal temperature (41.53 oC) compared to the frequency of breathing (57 times). ,27 times/minute and 55.77 times/minute), heart rate (274.07 times/minute and 272.47 times/minute), and rectal temperature (40.74oC and 40.61oC) In the afternoon and the morning, it can be concluded that the temperature of the cage during the day resulted in the frequency of breathing, heart rate and rectal temperature in broilers which were significantly higher than the temperature of the cell in the afternoon and morning, while the temperature of the cell in In the afternoon, the respiratory frequency, heart rate, and rectal temperature were not significantly higher than the cage temperature in the morning.
