Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of probiotic drinks on live weight, carcass percentage and income overfeed cost of broiler chickens. The materials used in this study were 60 DOC strains of CP 707, 311 and 511 feed andprobiotic drinks as a source of lactic acid bacteria. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5treatments and 4 replications. If F is a large treatment count from F table 5%, it means that there is a significantdifference between treatments, then the calculation is continued with the DNMRT further test. The results showed thatthe provision of probiotic drinks gave a significant difference (P <0.05) on live weight, carcass percentage and incomeover feed cost of broiler chickens. From the results of the study it can be concluded that probiotic drinks have an effecton live weight, carcass percentage and income over feed cost and the provision of 1.5 ml can help increase live weight,carcass percentage and income over feed cost.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sex ratio in mating Kokok Balenggek Chicken (KBC) to fertility,hatchability and hatching weight. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment of sexratio at KBC mating that is : 1: 5, 1: 7, 1: 9 and 1: 11. Each treatment is repeated 4 times and each repeat consist of 5items egg. The variables observed were fertility, hatchability and hatching weight. The results of the diversity analysisshowed that the difference in sex ratio in mating of KBC resulted in an unstable difference (P>0.05) to fertility (85.00 ±10.00%, 75.00 ± 25.17%, 80.00 ± 16.33 %, 65,00 ± 10,00%), hatchability (77,50 ± 16,58%, 66,25 ± 26,89%, 71,25 ±21,75%, 60,42 ± 18,48% ) and hatching weight (29.74 ± 0.44 gr, 30.01 ± 0.82 gr, 29.34 ± 0.28 gr, 30.47 ± 0.51 gr). Itcan be concluded that the sex ratio of 1:11 in the mating of KBC produces fertility, hatchability and hatching weightthat is not different from the sex ratio of 1: 5, 1: 7 and 1: 9. Sex ratio of 1 : 11 can be recommended in KBC mating.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of soaking Brahman cross beef with pineapple fruit extract on pH, water holding capacity, and cooking loss. The material used in this study was 1.6 kg Brahman cross beef brisket section aged 5 years. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with immersion treatment (minute) with pineapple fruit extract (P0=0, P1=15, P2=30, P3=45) and 4 replications. The variables measured were pH, water holding capacity and cooking loss. The mean obtained for pH is P0=5.75; P1=5.50; P2=5.45; and P3=5,40 for water holding capacity P0=14,61; P1=21.30; P2=22.91; and P3=24.21 while for cooking loss P0=32.92; P1=21.30; P2=47.06; and P3=44.30. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the length of soaking meat with pineapple extract gave a very significant difference (P<0.01) to the pH value and cooking loss and not significantly different (P>0.05) to the water holding capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine protein content, fat content and water content of brisket meat from Brahman Cross beef soaked with pineapple extract at different times. This research has been carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Products Technology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University, Padang. The material used in thisstudy was Brahman Cross beef brisket section aged 5 years which was taken at the Bandar Pandung Slaughterhouse, Solok City. The study was conducted experimentally in the laboratory with 4 treatments and 4 replications with different soaking times, namely without soaking, soaking brisket meat with pineapple extract for 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 45 minutes. The observed variables were the protein, fat and water content of Brahman Cross beef brisket. The results showed that the average protein content of meat ranged from 14.78 – 17.69%, meat fat content 1.75 – 2.76% and meat water content 76.97 – 79.19%. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the Brahman Cross beef brisket meat which was soaked with pineapple extract at different times gave very significant differences in proteincontent (P < 0.01) and not significant differences in fat and water content.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using bread waste flour (BWF) and golden snail flour (GSF) in the ration of quail on protein consumption, egg production and egg weight. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment levels of the use of BWF and GSF in the ration, namely P0 (using yellow corn and fish meal without BWF and GSF), P1 (10% BWF and 5,35% GSF), P2 (20% BWF and 10,65% GSF), P3 (30% BWF and 16% GSF). Each treatment consisted of 5 cage units as replicates. Each cage unit is filled with 4 quails. The results showed that using BWF and GSF with levels of 30% and 16% (P3) resulted in no significant difference in protein consumption, egg production and quail egg weight. It can be concluded that using 30% bread waste flour (BWF) and 16% golden snail flour (GSF) in quail rations during the egg-laying period did not make any difference to all the variables measured.

Abstract

Sapakek Basamo adalah satu kelompok tani ternak yang berada di Rimbo Berantai Kelurahan Tanah Garam Kecamatan Lubuk Sikarah Kota Solok yang berdiri sejak tahun 2019. Jenis usaha yang dijalankan adalah pegembangan usaha ternak sapi pembibitan dan penggemukan sapi potong unggul jenis Simmental. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok tani ternak selama ini adalah masih rendahnya ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas serta rendahnya ilmu pengetahuan tentang upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit pada ternak sapi baik pada kelompok sapi pembibitan maupun sapi penggemukan. Umumnya pemberian pakan berupa hijauan rumput lapangan, jerami padi dan ampas tahu, hal ini menunjukkan rendahnya kualitas pakan yang diberikan dan menyebabkan pengembangan sapi bibit dan sapi penggemukan berjalan lambat. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diberikan penyuluhan ilmu pengetahuan terutama tentang penyediaan pakan berupa tehnologi pakan fermentasi dan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penaykit mulut dan kuku yang sedang mewabah pada saat ini. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa metoda penyuluhan/ceramah dan diskusi bersama anggota kelompok tani ternak. Dari hasil pengabdian ini anggota kelompok tani ternak sangat antusias mengikut kegiatan penyuluhan dan berdiskusi langsung bersama tim pengabdian. Tehnologi penyediaan pakan ternak dengan fermentasi sudah dipahami begitu juga pentingnya upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit mulut dan kuku pada ternak. Peternak mengharapkan sekali untuk dilaksanakan kegiatan vaksinasi PMK oleh pihak terkait sebagai upaya pencegahan PMK.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of fermented palm kernel cake with EM-4 in the ration in terms of slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight of superior village chickens from Balitbangtan. The material in the study was 32 male KUB chickens aged 10 weeks, obtained from AIAT Kayu Aro. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments: P0 (given 0% BISF), P1 (given 10% BISF), P2 (administered 20% BISF) and P3 (30% BISF). Each treatment consisted of 4 cage units as replicates. Each cage unit is filled with 4 KUB chickens. The variables in this study were slaughter weight (grams/head. Carcass weight (grams/head). Abdominal fat weight (grams/head). Based on the results, it can be concluded that fermented palm kernel cake (BISF) with EM-4 can be given up to 20% in the ration of KUB chickens aged 10 weeks because it produces slaughter weight and carcass weight which is significantly higher than the slaughter weight and carcass weight due to rations without BISF and also rations with 30% BISF.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using expired bread flour and golden snail flour in quail rations on energy consumption, crude fiber consumption and drinking water consumption. The livestock used were female quails aged 14 weeks (egg laying period) totaling 80 tails. Bread comes from the bakery PT. Nagari Minang Jelita is located on Jl. Cross Sumatra KM.13 Jorong Kubang Nagari Singkarak Kab. solo. The design of this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 4 treatments, namely: P0 (given yellow corn without TRK and TKM), P1 (10% TRK and 5.35% TKM), P2 (20% TRK and 10 ,65% TKM), P3 (30% TKM and 16% TKM). Each treatment consisted of 5 cage units as replicates. Each cage unit is filled with 5 quails. The variables measured in this study were energy consumption, crude fiber consumption and drinking water consumption. The results showed that the average energy consumption was P0=58,69; P1=58,29; P2=59,41; P3=61,38 Mcal/head/day, crude fiber consumption is P0=0,80; P1=0,80; P2=0,81; P3=0,82 gram/head/day and drinking water consumption is P0=66,11; P1=64,81; P2=64,11; P3=65,41 ml/head/day. The results of the study concluded that the effect of giving expired bread flour and golden snail flour in the ration had a non-significantly different effect (P>0.05) on energy consumption, crude fiber consumption and quail drinking water consumption.

Abstract

The Study aimed to get formulation ration with ratio RDP and The best RUP from a combination of forage feed (field grass, titonia and sweet potato leaves) and concentrate (dregs know, sweet potato wood, and bran) for characteristics condition fluid rumen. A random block design with three (3) treatments and five (5) groups was used in this research. The treatment were enhancement ratio RDP and RUP in ration where P1= 50:50, P2= 55:45, P3= 60:40. The result of the research showed that ratio RDP and RUP which use forage (grass field, titonia and leaf sweet potato sweet) and concentrate (dregs know, sweet potato wood and bran) gave a very significantly different effect (P<0.01) on VFA, and which was not significantly different with respect to pH and NH3. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using cricket flour (Gryllus sp) in the diet on the number, duration, and frequency of crowing crowning of balenggek cocks for 12-24 weeks. This study used 48 male balenggek crowing cocks which were given additional cricket flour diets. The completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatments, was used as the experimental design in this research. The treatments were: PO (no cricket flour), Pl (used cricket flour 2%), P2 (used cricket flour 4%), and P3 (used cricket flour 6%). Each treatment was repeated 4 times and each replication consisted of 3 male kokok balenggek cocks. The variables measured in this study were the number of crowings, duration, and frequency of crowing of kokok balenggek cocks at 12-24 weeks of age. The results showed that the addition of cricket flour in the ration had a significantly different effect (P<0.05) on the number of crows and the duration of crowing, and a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the crowing frequency of balenggek cocks at the age of 12- 24 weeks with the best number of crowings, duration, and frequency of crowing was in P3 (was used of 6% cricket flour)
