Abstract

This research was aimed to evaluate the effect of incubation time and level of urea on dry matter,organic matter and crude protein digestibility of Passion fruit hulls. The research was conducted by twophases. The first, the research was conducted to analyze of Passion fruit hulls before and afterammoniation, and then conducting digestibility of Passion fruit hulls using rumen fluid. FactorialRandomized Block design 2x3, with factor A was incubation time of ammoniated Passion fruit hulls (2weeks, 3 weeks) and factor B was the level of urea used (4%, 6% and 8%) was used in this study. Theresults showed that there was no significantly effects among treatments on dry matter and organic matterdigestibilities, but significant effect (P<0.05) on crude protein digestibility by level of urea treatment,even those there was no interaction between each treatment. The research showed that increasing levelof urea could increase in-vitro digestibility of crude protein nutrients. In conclusion, the best treatmentwas 8% level of urea with 2 weeks of incubation length.

Abstract

This study aims to make a morphological identification of the rumen contents of moles given a different source of glucose as an energy supply for microorganisms contained in Mol solution. In the process of making moles, it is also compared to aerobically and anaerobically. There are six types of moles which are made from the contents of the rumen with different compositions, namely: 1. Rumen contents + molasses + tofu water anaerobically, 2. Rumen liquid + molasses + soaked soybean aerobically, 3.1 rumen content + rice water + molasses an aerobically, 4. Fill the rumen + sugar + soybean water. The four mixtures of local microorganisms were incubated for 7 days. The results of the microbial identification observations were discussed descriptively. Based on the results of microbial identification, there are types of bacteria bacillus sp, and the fungus Candida sp.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine reproductive efficiency, population dynamics, natural increase and estimated output of the Kuantan cattle in the Kuansing Regency, Province of Riau. A total of 311 Kuantan cattle and 99 Kuantan cattle farmers were used in this study through a survey study. Respondent samples were taken from seven districts. Data sampling using purposive sampling with survey methods. Data collection was carried out by interviewing farmers and observing and was analyzed descriptively. Parameters measured were reproductive efficiency, natural increase, estimated output and population dynamics of Kuantan cattle. Results showed that the reproductive efficiency of Kuantan cattle was 1.04%, natural increase 5.14%, the balance of male and female 1: 5, the value of male NRR 50% and female NRR 100.56%, total cattle out 18.69% and total incoming cattle 18.69%, output value 48.88% and estimated population dynamics 2.85%. In conclusion, Kuantan cattle reproduction has not been efficient with the natural increase of the Kuantan cattle was very low, and the replacement stock availability for male and female cattle has not been fulfilled. It is recommended not to release Kuantan cattle in the next 5 years to maintain population balance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kecernaan nutrient pelepah sawit yang optimal hasil fermentasi dari berbagai sumber mikroorganisme, baik yang berbahan lokal maupun komersial, sebagai bahan pakan ternak ruminansia secara in-vitro. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan untuk masing-masing perlakuan. Perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah A: kontrol, B: fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan mikroorganisme lokal dari isi rumen, C: fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan mikroorganisme lokal dari sumber feses sapi, D: fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan mikroorganisme lokal dari sumber urin sapi, E: fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan EM4, dan F: fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan ragi tempe. Pelepah sawit difermentasi selama 7 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan fermentasi menunjukkan pengaruh nyata pada kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, serat kasar, dan protein kasar. Kecernaan bahan kering yang optimal 46.39%, bahan organik yang 27.55%, serat kasar 32.12%, dan protein kasar 23.22%, hasil fermentasi pelepah sawit dengan mikroorganisme lokal sumber feses sapiKata kunci : kecernaan nutrien, pelepah sawit, fermentasi

Abstract

Usaha ternak sapi merupakan unit usaha dari kelompok tani Elok Basamo kelurahan Aro Ampek Korong, Kota Solok, Sumatera Barat. Anggota kelompok tani ini merupakan petani yang memelihara sapi sebagai usaha sampingannya. Permasalahan yang ada pada kelompok tani adalah Para anggota kelompok tani kurang memahami manajemen pakan ternak, masih terbatas pengetahuan mereka tentang tata laksana manajemen pemeliharaan, pakan dan sanitasi kesehan ternak, sehingga menjadikan kelompok tani tersebut belum optimal mendapatkan manfaat ternak yang mereka pelihara sebagai faktor penambah pendapatan dan meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dengan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat stimulus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dan penyuluhan pada Kelompok tani Elok Basamo tentang manajemen tatalaksana ternak, penyediaan pakan hijauan yang berkualitas. Target khusus dari program ini adalah terjadinya perbaikan manajemen pakan dan konsumsi hijauan yang berkualitas, sehingga mampu untuk berproduksi dan bereproduksi dengan harapan peternak. Metode yang dipakai dalam pencapaian tujuan dengan melakukan percontohan pratek langsung dengan pemberian pakan komplit hijauan dan konsentrat berbasiskan bahan lokal menggunakan formula ransum dengan iso protein dan iso energi. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian ini berakhir luaran yang diharapkan adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peternak dan akhirnya dapat meningkatnya kesejahteraan petani peternak di kelompok mitra karena terjadinya peningkatan produksi dan reproduksi ternak.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using rumen content bioactivators with the addition of different energy sources on nutrient content, fiber fraction content, and energy estimation in palm leaves and midribs that will be used as feed ingredients for ruminants.  Factorial completely randomized design 2x4 with 4 replications for each treatment was used in this study. Factor A is the source of the rumen contents, where A1 = Cattle rumen, A2 = Buffalo rumen. Factor B is a microbial energy supply; B1 = Molasses, B2 = Molasses + palm frond extract, B3 = Molasses + palm leaf extract, B4 = Molasses + palm frond and leaf extract.  Parameters observed were dry matter content, organic matter, crude protein. The results of the variance analysis showed that there was no interaction (P> 0.05) between the source of rumen content and the type of microbial energy supply. The dry matter content of palm fronds is not affected by the source of the rumen content of cows or buffaloes. The source of the rumen content based on cattle or buffaloes have no effect on the dry matter content of palm fronds. Keywords: Bioactivator, oil palm frond, ruminant.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein content of palm oil fronds incubated with local microorganism source of rumen content and crude enzymes produced through the rumen of cattle. The rumen contents of the beef were incubated for 7 days with a fermented system in the rumen with the addition of molasses and soybean soaking water as a source of food and energy, as well as the addition of palm fronds as a source of lignin enzymes. The design used was factorial completely randomized design 2 X 3 with 3 replications for each treatment. Factor A consisted of two treatments, there were: A1 = Local microorganism source of rumen content of beef, A2 = crude enzyme. Factor B using of dose: B1 = 10%, B2 = 20%, B3 = 30%. The parameters observed were: dry matter content, organic matter, crude protein.  The resulted were 33.11-34.75% the content of dry matter, 93.40-93.08% the content of organic matter, and the content of crude protein based on this research data, it can be concluded that the incubation treatment of oil palm fronds with local microorganisms (Mol) and crude enzymes affects the dry matter and organic matter content. Crude protein content ranged from 6.70 to 7.38%.

Abstract

Sapakek Basamo adalah satu kelompok tani ternak yang berada di Rimbo Berantai Kelurahan Tanah Garam Kecamatan Lubuk Sikarah Kota Solok yang berdiri sejak tahun 2019. Jenis usaha yang dijalankan adalah pegembangan usaha ternak sapi pembibitan dan penggemukan sapi potong unggul jenis Simmental. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok tani ternak selama ini adalah masih rendahnya ketersediaan pakan yang berkualitas serta rendahnya ilmu pengetahuan tentang upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit pada ternak sapi baik pada kelompok sapi pembibitan maupun sapi penggemukan. Umumnya pemberian pakan berupa hijauan rumput lapangan, jerami padi dan ampas tahu, hal ini menunjukkan rendahnya kualitas pakan yang diberikan dan menyebabkan pengembangan sapi bibit dan sapi penggemukan berjalan lambat. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diberikan penyuluhan ilmu pengetahuan terutama tentang penyediaan pakan berupa tehnologi pakan fermentasi dan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penaykit mulut dan kuku yang sedang mewabah pada saat ini. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa metoda penyuluhan/ceramah dan diskusi bersama anggota kelompok tani ternak. Dari hasil pengabdian ini anggota kelompok tani ternak sangat antusias mengikut kegiatan penyuluhan dan berdiskusi langsung bersama tim pengabdian. Tehnologi penyediaan pakan ternak dengan fermentasi sudah dipahami begitu juga pentingnya upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit mulut dan kuku pada ternak. Peternak mengharapkan sekali untuk dilaksanakan kegiatan vaksinasi PMK oleh pihak terkait sebagai upaya pencegahan PMK.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluation the effect using of crude enzymes base on the rumen contents of cattle as bio activators with different doses and incubation length on the dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein content of palm oil fronds to be used as ruminants feed.  The completely factorial randomized design with 3 replications for each treatment was used in this study. Factor A was the incubation length of the palm fronds, where A1 = 7 days, A2 = 14 days. Factor B dose of crude enzyme; B1 = 5%, B2 = 10%, B3 = 15%. Parameters observed were dry matter content, organic matter, crude protein. The results showed that there was no interaction effect (p>0.05) between incubation length and different doses of crude enzymes on dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein content of palm fronds. The highest dry matter content was 93.89%, the highest organic matter was 89.22% and the highest crude protein content was 11.04%. The best results in this study were at a dose of 10% treatment with an incubation period of 7 days.
