Abstract

This study aims to deeply explore the influence of transformational leadership practiced by the school principal on the development of a learning culture and the reinforcement of teachers’ learning motivation at SMAN 112 Jakarta. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research provides a contextualized understanding of educational leadership dynamics at the secondary school level. Data were collected through a triangulation strategy comprising in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and institutional document analysis, involving the principal, vice principals, and teaching staff. Data analysis was conducted interactively through systematic and iterative processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that the principal optimally implements all dimensions of transformational leadership, including idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. These leadership practices have successfully fostered a teacher learning culture that is collaborative, reflective, innovative, and oriented toward ongoing professional development. Teachers demonstrated a high degree of enthusiasm in enhancing their competencies, sharing best practices, and initiating instructional innovations. The study affirms that transformational leadership constitutes a critical variable contributing to the improvement of instructional quality and the strengthening of teachers’ professional capacities. The practical implications of this study offer strategic recommendations for developing effective educational leadership models within secondary education institutions.

Abstract

Teachers’ ability to design engaging and interactive teaching materials is a critical factor in the success of early childhood education. However, many kindergarten teachers still face challenges in developing instructional resources that match children's developmental characteristics. This issue was also identified at TK Mandala, Sindangbarang District, Cianjur Regency, where most teachers lacked adequate skills in creating innovative and creative teaching materials. This community service program aimed to improve kindergarten teachers’ competence through intensive training and mentoring. The implementation involved administrative preparation, content planning, training sessions, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation of teaching materials created by participants. The results demonstrated significant improvements in teachers’ knowledge, technical skills, and attitudes toward material development. Teachers successfully produced interactive media such as flashcards, thematic posters, flannel boards, and simple digital content. The program also enhanced teachers' motivation, peer collaboration, and willingness to innovate. In conclusion, this community service activity contributed to strengthening the quality of early childhood learning and provided a sustainable impact on teacher professionalism and classroom practice.

Abstract

The Community Service Activity “Optimizing Local Resources to Support Innovative Learning Programs at SMPN 3 Pagelaran” aims to integrate local potential into the learning process to improve the quality of education and strengthen students' cultural identity. The methods employed include identifying and mapping local resources, developing an integrated curriculum, teacher training, implementing resource-based learning, and establishing a school-community collaboration network. The results of the activity demonstrate the successful identification of 15 types of natural resources, 8 cultural heritage elements, and 12 local community professions, which were developed into 24 integrated learning modules. The implementation of the program in 36 classrooms increased student active participation from 45% to 87%, student attendance from 78% to 94%, and average test scores from 7.2 to 8.3. 95% of teachers reported increased confidence in local resource-based learning, while 92% of students stated that learning had become more engaging and meaningful. The establishment of the Local Resource-Based Learning Forum created a sustainable learning ecosystem involving all community components and opened opportunities for local economic development.
