Abstract

This research aims to explore Ibn Khaldun's thoughts about Islamic education and its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. Ibn Khaldun, through his work "Muqaddimah," presents an in-depth view of education which includes teaching methods, educational goals, and the role of science. This research uses a library study method, with analysis of primary texts by Ibn Khaldun as well as secondary literature that discusses his thoughts and applications in contemporary Islamic education. The research results show that Ibn Khaldun's educational concepts, such as the integration of religious knowledge and general knowledge, moral and character development, as well as an adaptive and holistic teaching approach, are very relevant to the challenges of today's Islamic education. These findings indicate that the educational principles put forward by Ibn Khaldun can be adapted to improve the quality of contemporary Islamic education, so that it remains relevant and effective in facing the dynamics of the modern era.
