Abstract

Abstrack The fig plant is called fig in English. Most people often refer to it as a fig plant. This plant has the Latin name ficus carica L. The content of flavonoid compounds in the telang flower has the potential to be an alternative source of natural antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to determine the formulation and physical quality test of fig leaf extract lotion preparations. This research method is an experimental study of making fig leaf extract lotion by collecting the ingredients to be extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent, formulating the extract concentration of 1%,3%,5% and evaluating the physical quality of the lotion preparation. The results obtained in the phytochemical screening are extracts containing flavonoid compounds, tannins and saponins. In the organoleptic test, homogeneity and pH have met the requirements and are safe to use for the skin.

Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension is a health problem that is commonly found in the elderly. The number of people with hypertension continues to increase every year, it is estimated that by 2025 there will be 1.5 billion people affected by hypertension. Hypertension can occur due to various factors, namely: unhealthy diet / diet, smoking lifestyle and alcohol consumption, obesity or excessive weight, lack of exercise / physical activity, excessive salt intake, consumption of saturated fat, use of estrogen, lack of fruit and vegetable intake. Efforts to overcome hypertension can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies . Non-pharmacological therapies can be done by modifying lifestyle, complementary therapies such as; hydrotherapy (foot bath) and physical exercise. In the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) warm water foot soak is one of the interventions of nursing diagnosis, namely peripheral tissue perfusion disorders. Descriptive research using case study design. There was a decrease in blood pressure in hypertensive elderly after hydrotherapy soaked feet warm water. There are differences in the development of lowering blood pressure in hypertensive elderly before and after hydrotherapy soak feet warm water.

Abstract

The incidence of infections in the gastrointestinal tract is increasing every year. Some bacteria that often cause infections in the gastrointestinal tract are Salmonella typhi, which is a bacterium that causes typhoid fever, and Shigella dysenteriae which is a bacterium that causes dysentery. Handling of infection can only be done by using antibiotics. Improper use of antibiotics can lead to resistance, so it is necessary to look for alternative treatments that come from nature to overcome resistance levels. One of them is raw Kepok banana peel (Musa paradisiaca formatypica) which has secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins, where these compounds have many antibacterial activities unknown to the public. This research was an experimental research. The extraction method was using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Antibacterial activity test for Salmonella typhi and Shigella dysenteriae was using diffusion method therefore the wells were divided into 7 treatment groups, namely extract concentration 0.3125%; 0.625%; 1.25%; 2.5%; 5.0%; positive control (Chloramphenicol dose 30 mg / ml for Salmonella typhi, Ciprofloxacin dose 100 mg / ml for Shigella dysenteriae), and negative control (ethanol 96%). The diameter of the inhibitory zone formed was then measured using a caliper. From the results of the research that has been done, it was found that the ethanol extract of raw Kepok banana peel (Musa paradisiaca forma typica) had inhibitory effect on the growth of Salmonella typhi and Shigella dysenteriae bacteria with the highest inhibition zone diameter of 11.36 mm and the lowest 6.45 mm for Salmonella typhi, and the highest inhibition zone for Shigella dysenteriae was 17.99 mm and the lowest was 15.13 mm. The minimum concentration of banana skin ethanol extract which had inhibitory power was 0.3125%.

Abstract

Leaves Sepat (Mitragynaspeciosa) is a plant of Kalimantan. These plants are often used traditionally to reduce blood sugar and antibacterial. The effectiveness is related with strong antioxidant activity in flavonoid compounds. Flavonoid compounds work through the mechanism of capturing free radicals, reducing oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to measure the percentage of free radical inhibition in the hand sanitizer of methanol extract of leaves Sepat (Mitragynaspeciosa). Sample extraction by maceration method using methanol. Qualitative analysis of chemical compounds with certain eluents using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). The antioxidant activity test using the DPPH immersion method (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl Hidrazil) measured absorption at a wavelength of 517 nm. The largest percentage of free radical inhibition was obtained in a hand sanitizer concentration of 80 ppm, which is 51.07 ppm.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus Type 2 (DMT2) is a chronic disease that, if left untreated, can lead to complications such as macrovascular and microvascular disorders. DM is an incurable disease. The management and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus aim to control blood glucose levels to prevent severe complications. The purpose of this study is to examine DMT2 patient’s treatment behavior, DMT2 patient’s fasting blood glucose level, and the relationship between treatment behavior levels and blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Sungai Mesa Health Center in Banjarmasin. This study uses a cross-sectional design with 41 samples of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients selected through consecutive sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the treatment behavior level was dominated by the contemplation level (48.8%). Fasting blood glucose levels were dominated by uncontrolled fasting blood glucose levels (95.1%). There was no significant relationship between treatment behavior levels and blood glucose levels, with a p-value from the Spearman correlation test of > 0.05 (0.527). The conclusion of this study is that treatment behavior levels are not a major factor in controlling blood glucose levels.
