Abstract

Overall survival (OS) assesses the patient's survival rate after undergoing therapy. The evaluation of OS becomes a reliable clinical endpoint for assessing the malignancy response to chemotherapy intervention. Here in, we review a number of publications on PCR data in various chemotherapy protocols for different types of cancer. The literature review involves nine scientific articles that meet the inclusion criteria provided by the PubMed database. Our findings present the performance of chemotherapy protocols with the highest OS values for each type of cancer, including: Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Metastasis (Durvalumab plus Tremelimumab-31.2), Non-Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (Nivolumab-30.8), Small Cell Lung Cancer (Carboplatin and Etoposide-13.2), Breast Cancer (Ribociclib plus Fulvestrant-67.6), Metastatic Breast Cancer (Olaparib-18.9), Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (Trifluridine/tipiracil-13.1), Liver Cancer (SBRT 44.1). This article reviews a number of publications on PCR data in various chemotherapy protocols for different types of cancer.

Abstract

Progression-Free Survival (PFS) measures cancer patients' resistance to tumor progression. This alternative measurement is effective in assessing the performance of cancer therapy protocols and may serve an evidence for evaluating the quality of life of patients and planning follow-up treatments. Here in, we review a number of PFS data publications for drugs used in cancer therapy. The review involves ten scientific articles met the inclusion criteria provided by the PubMed database. Our finding present the optimal performance of chemotherapy protocols in preventing disease progression in seven various cancer populations. The highest PFS values for each cancer such as: crizotinib for lung cancer (28.71 months), enzalutamide for prostate cancer (7.1 months), pamiparib for stomach cancer (3.7 months), anlotinib for liver cancer (4.2 months), irinotecan plus raltitrexed for esophageal cancer (3.91 months), folfoxiri plus bevacizumab for metastatic colorectal cancer (10.7 months), and paclitaxel plus vistusertib for ovarian carcinoma (4.5 months).

Abstract

The prevalence of diarrhea is widespread in developing countries and is a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality. This article presents a profile of medication use in the management of diarrhea based on age groups. The study utilized a quantitative approach by analyzing 123 prescriptions from diarrhea patients at the Military Academy Health Clinic in Magelang during 2021. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution tabulations with Microsoft Excel 2016. The results indicate that antidiarrheal prescriptions are age-adjusted, probiotics are the primary choice for infants and children, while loperamide is recommended for adolescents to the elderly. Adsorbents serve as an alternative across all age groups. Management of older patients also considers prognosis and accompanying symptoms, which includes antibiotics, antiulcer medications, and antispasmodics. Supportive therapies such as zinc supplementation and oral rehydration are applied across all age categories.
