Abstract

This study purposes to describe the religious values in Harun Yahya’s fables. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research was fable by Harun Yahya such as; Omar and the Penguin, Jamal and the Parrot, and Naeem and the Pretty Peacock. The data in this study could be a phrase, be it a noun phrase or verb, sentences and discourse fragment found in the fable. Data collection and analysis techniques used was content analysis techniques. The results showed that the religious value of character education appeared in the fables gave pieces of advice to the readers about getting closer to God Allah SWT.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the types of spoken language for English Language teaching. Spoken language’ types considered to be varied and complex particularly to the country which its first language is not English. To implement the spoken language type in the subject, such speaking class, it is crucial to comprehend these types of spoken language. It is found that adjacency, turn-taking, and exchange were the most implemented types during the presenting speaking in the class. It is resolved that the vary the types applied in the class, the more the knowledge and classroom’s situation would be delighted.

Abstract

English handbooks used in High schools fill with literary works. It is either in poem, prose, or drama. These literary works are human’s creatures both in spoken and written language which fills with implicit meaning beneath the stylistic language used in that literary works. Besides, semantics is a branch of linguistics that studies meaning. This study aimed to find out problems faced by students in the analysis of the semantics meaning of literary works found in English handbooks. This study applied the qualitative descriptive method. The result showed that the problems faced by students lied beneath the determination of semantics meanings and their types found in words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in literary works.
