This paper aims to uncover semantics meaning found in the literary work in the English handbook of high school using a semantic approach. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study were phrases, sentences, and clauses that allegedly contain implicit and explicit meanings. The literary work analyzed were taken from three (3) handbooks for high school student. The results of the study showed the discovery of various types of semantic meanings in literary works found in the English handbook as teaching materials. The types of semantics meaning found in the English Handbook for high school were literal and non-literal meaning. These meanings did not appear together in one literary work, but it is spread in the literary works found in the English handbooks.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas fabel sebagai bahan ajar terutama dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang terdapat fabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah fabel. Data dalam penelitian ini dapat berupa frasa, baik itu frasa kata benda ataupun kata kerja, klausa serta kalimat yang ditemukan dalam fabel. Teknik pengumpulan dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai pendidikan karakter yang banyak muncul dalam fabel, diantaranya; nilai religious, kejujuran, kreatif, bersahabat/ komunikatif, kerja keras, ingin tahu, dan toleransi. Selain itu, efektifitas penggunaan fabel sebagai media pembelajaran mahasiswa menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dan berada pada skala 77%.

This study purposes to describe the religious values in Harun Yahya’s fables. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research was fable by Harun Yahya such as; Omar and the Penguin, Jamal and the Parrot, and Naeem and the Pretty Peacock. The data in this study could be a phrase, be it a noun phrase or verb, sentences and discourse fragment found in the fable. Data collection and analysis techniques used was content analysis techniques. The results showed that the religious value of character education appeared in the fables gave pieces of advice to the readers about getting closer to God Allah SWT.

This paper aims to describe the types of spoken language for English Language teaching. Spoken language’ types considered to be varied and complex particularly to the country which its first language is not English. To implement the spoken language type in the subject, such speaking class, it is crucial to comprehend these types of spoken language. It is found that adjacency, turn-taking, and exchange were the most implemented types during the presenting speaking in the class. It is resolved that the vary the types applied in the class, the more the knowledge and classroom’s situation would be delighted.

English handbooks used in High schools fill with literary works. It is either in poem, prose, or drama. These literary works are human’s creatures both in spoken and written language which fills with implicit meaning beneath the stylistic language used in that literary works. Besides, semantics is a branch of linguistics that studies meaning. This study aimed to find out problems faced by students in the analysis of the semantics meaning of literary works found in English handbooks. This study applied the qualitative descriptive method. The result showed that the problems faced by students lied beneath the determination of semantics meanings and their types found in words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in literary works.

The Covid-19 had changed the educational system in Indonesia. The students must be survived with the change of educational system. They are required to use the internet-based media and technology during covid-19 pandemic. This study aimed to explore how the students experience of the change of learning system from face to face learning to online learning and finding deep information from the students who life in the rural area. The present study applied qualitative research to explore how the students in Maluku Utara survive in distance learning by examine how their experience in online learning. The result of this study gives several contributions about the how the students experience in online learning in Maluku Utara. The first, in conducting online learning the students must struggle with the condition of network in Maluku Utara. There were some areas that is not supported by the network so the students must go to the area that has a good network. This phenomenon becomes the main problem of the students in having online learning. The second, the process of online learning conducted both synchronous and asynchronous. They use social media as the media of communication, giving information and instruction. The third, most of the students used smartphone as the device in conducting online learning. However, in some school the student who does not have smartphone used I-pad from their school. The last, the students from Maluku Utara were easy to adapt the new system of learning.

Informasi di era digital merupakan sebuah kebutuhan primer mengingat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari peran informasi menjadi salah satu objek vital untuk mendukung keperluan terutama aktivitas di Sekolah. Hal ini menjadi kebutuhan krusial dalam proses pembelajaran pada saat dunia dilanda covid-19. Pesantren Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone juga terkena dampaknya. Sinergitas dari tim pengabdi dan pihak pesantren dalam rangka meningkatkan kapasitas guru-guru di bidang pembelajaran digital berbasis Google for Education sangat diperlukan. Kerjasama tim ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi dan mengenalkan fitur-fitur yang dimiliki Google for Education demi mendukung Pesantren Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone berwawasan digital. Metode yang digunakan berupa observasi dan pelatihan pembelajaran menggunakan fitur-fitur pada Google for Education. Program ini berlangsung selama empat (4) bulan. Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini, para guru pesantren sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan memanfaatkan fitur-fitur pada Google for Education serta pengaplikasiannya dalam proses pembelajaran dan berkontribusi positif di masyarakat.

Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) adalah usia yang sangat aktif untuk menggunakan gawai sehingga kemungkinan untuk kecanduan sangat tinggi. Jika siswa SMA kecanduan maka bisa mempengaruhi kesehatan fisik dan mental mereka serta kepada akademik mereka sebagai siswa. Untuk menghindari atau mengurangi pengaruh buruk ini maka dibutuhkan tindakan dari berbagai pihak termasuk pihak universitas. Salah satu yang bisa dilakukan adalah melakukan sosialisasi kepada siswa SMA melalui program pengabdian masyarakat mahasiswa internasonal dari Malaysia dan Prancis. 2 perwakilan mahasiswa dari Malaysia dan 2 mahasiswa dari Prancis akan menyajikan materi terkait bahaya gawai untuk kesehatan, fisik dan akademik siswa. Selain menyajikan bahaya gawai maka hal yang paling penting untuk dijelaskan adalah cara untuk menghidari pengaruh negatif dari penggunaan gawai yang berlebihan. Pengabdian masyarakat di salah satu SMA di Kebupaten Pangkep berjalan lancar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara kepala sekolah maka bisa disimpulkan bahwa siswa antusias dan aktif mengikuti acara sosialisasi dari mahasiswa asing. Mereka dan pihak sekolah mendapatkan manfaat dari acara ini seperti mengetahui bahaya penggunaan gawai yang berlebihan, cara mengatasinya, menigkatkan motivasi belajar di luar negri dan belajar bahasa inggris. Adapun untuk pihak sekolah acara ini bisa membantu mereka untuk menunjukkan ke publik bahwa mereka memiliki kegiatan internasional.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman literasi digital mahasiswa dalam lingkup Fakultas Sastra, Universitas Muslim Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Populasi dalam Penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Sastra. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian dipilih dari mahasiswa semester lima (5) Fakultas Sastra yang telah melulusi mata kuliah pembelajaran bahasa, baik itu bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris dan telah intens menggunakan LMS Kalam UMI dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan literasi digital mahasiswa Tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa pada proses pembelajaran Bahasa berbasis karakter paada LMS Kalam UMI berapa pada kategori sedang rendah dengan 57atau sebanyak 54, 808 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasswa memiliki preverensi Functioning Prosuming yang bermakna mahasiswa cakap dalam mengakses, memahami cara penggunaan, seleksi kebutuhan, distribusi dan produksi dalam penggunaan media digital.Kata Kunci:literasi digital, pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran bahasa, LMS Kalam UMI .

Local wisdom commonly refers to as local intelligence. This term is the idea or thought of the local community in which local wisdom as values of hereditary nobility followed by Society. Local wisdom reflects the cultural community of South Sulawesi. South Sulawesi local story spread around Society orally and is often referred to as oral folklore. These folklores have local wisdom. The people of South Sulawesi are a compound community consisting of various tribes and with diversity. These tribes have different local wisdom and, until now, are still held firmly. Even so, these tribes have similarities in terms of local wisdom inscribed in the oral folklores. This research aims to describe the local wisdom found in the oral folklore owned by South Sulawesi Community. This research aims to describe the local wisdom found in the oral folklore owned by South Sulawesi Community. This research used the qualitative method. It applied descriptive analysis by applying observation, interview, and content analysis. The folklores used in this study as the data were oral folklores. Three (3) oral folklores were chosen as the data in this study. They were pemmali for the pregnant woman sitting close to the door, mole on the palm, and pemmali for cleaning or sweeping the house floor at night. The study's results showed local wisdom in oral folklore existed in South Sulawesi society. These oral folklores are full of wisdom and values embedded in the pattern of people's lives in South Sulawesi. Besides, the local wisdom found in the oral folklore is still maintained today. The three oral folklores found and discussed represent the regions and tribes in South Sulawesi.
