Abstract

Cultural politics is one of the efforts used by national governments in promoting culture in various countries to achieve their national interests. Italy tries to implement its cultural politics by seeing gastronomy as a diplomatic tool or gastrodiplomacy. This study attempts to seek answer for two research question, first is how does Italy intensively carry out a gastrodiplomacy as its cultural politics. The theory used in this research is the integral state of Gramsci's Hegemony. The research method that will be used in this paper is a descriptive qualitative research method analysis. Meanwhile, the data collection method used is document study data collection by gathering relevant information and data. The data source used is a secondary data source. The results of this study found that cultural policies are implemented by various elements of the state, the factors involved are non-governmental organizations, the media, educational institutions and business people to gain cultural hegemony.

Abstract

This study discusses the security cooperation of the three countries of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. In particular, this paper elaborates on its role in the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) adopted by the European Union in responding to the Russia-Ukraine Conflict, 2014-2022. The method used in this research is qualitative with analytical descriptive. The research source uses secondary data in the form of literature review. This study is analyzed using the theory of Regional Security Complex (RSC) and the Concept of Cooperative Security. RSC theory is used to analyze the cooperation of Benelux as a regional power in developing European Union CFSP security cooperation. Result shows that Benelux is not brave enough to make a decision which is completely different from the EU public. The Benelux countries’ position is to agree with the EU's decision on the Russia-Ukraine war.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to explore the European Union’s agenda and priority in defence and security sectors in post Brexit era. This study is analyzed based on two research questions are: first, what are the impacts of Brexit on the European Union (EU) defense-security sectors, and the second is, what are the EU’s agenda and priority in defense-security sectors in the Post-Brexit era. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative. The analyses of the study is using Barry Buzan and Ole Waever's Regional Security Complex Theory (RSCT). The findings of this study are: first, as the impact of Brexit, EU significantly prepare itself with many kinds of initiatives, policies and agreements in defense-security sectors. Second, EU has been establishing various scales and sachems of its agenda and priority in defense-security sectors in the Post-Brexit. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the critiques of mainstream mass media in Norway in response to the plastic waste issue in the Nordic region based on pro-environmental behaviour.. The study will also examine the constraints or challenges faced by mass media in Norway in their agenda to combat plastic waste. In this process, the research will identify the strengths and weaknesses of mass media in shaping perceptions and driving positive actions in plastic waste management. The study will also analyze how mass media engages stakeholders, including the government, non-governmental organizations, and industry, in efforts to combat plastic waste in Norway. This research will identify strategies, collaborations, and interactions between mass media and these stakeholders. The goal is to assess the extent to which mass media can engage and coordinate joint efforts with other stakeholders. Mass media in Norway can have a stronger role in influencing government policies related to plastic waste and often urge the government to implement more sustainable measures in plastic waste management. Mass media in Norway can also act as a powerful information disseminator in addressing the urgency of plastic waste management to the public.

Abstract

This study aims to explore image building activities carried out by France on European security through educational programs for military officers. In this education, military officers were envoys of various friendly countries of France. This military officers education is a forum where France can disseminate its national security vision and mission. France intension is to demonstrate its strong military traditions, as well as its solid doctrine and battle strategy in anticipation of regional and global threats. The programs offered by France in the education program are considered attractive to its partners. This study used participatory observation methods conducted to reconstruct the background, motivations, goals, and objectives of the French Government in providing education for military officers. In this study, the researchers are exploring the Nation Branding Theory by Simon Anholt and Keith Dinnie and its application in diplomacy specifically carried out by France, namely military officers education. The findings of this study show that France has strategically made the military officers education programs of its partner countries an instrument of foreign diplomacy in defense and security sec tors, in line with French national interests and France's geopolitical position in the European region and in the world. Abstract

ABSTRACT. This paper examines the current state of the Blue Economy in the Baltic Sea region, with a focus on sustainable development in the Scandinavian countries. The paper begins by providing an overview of the economic, social, and environmental impacts. The paper identifies key challenges facing the industry in the Scandinavian countries, including the need for better planning and management, the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and the protection of the marine environment. This research aims to explain the urgency of Blue Economy activities impact in the Baltic Sea, Specifically the impact on the environment and communities in Scandinavian Countries. To analyze the implementation of the blue economy in Scandinavian countries based on the EU Blue Economy. Using intergovernmental theory to explain the urgency and to explain the multi-level interaction between Scandinavian countries to achieve common goals. To understand complex social phenomenon researcher used qualitative research method that involves collecting and analyzing non-numerical data. In conclusion, the paper argues that sustainable blue economy in the Scandinavian countries bordering the Baltic Sea can bring significant benefits to both the marine industry and the wider community, but only if it is managed in a responsibly and sustainably manner. The paper concludes by calling for greater collaboration between stakeholders to ensure that the blue economy in the region is developed in a way that is both sustainable and inclusive, and that respects the natural and cultural heritage of the region.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The aim of this research is to explore the cultural and political significance of the Ode to Joy, a tune included in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, so that tune can become an anthem for the European Union. Following the MEPs from Nigel Farage's Brexit party turning their backs on the playing of the European anthem, a discussion on this subject started. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative approach and literature review. The research's conclusions demonstrate that both musically and politically, Ode to Joy has its significance. Ode to Joy had already come to represent Germany in Europe before it was officially adopted as the anthem of the European Union.
