Abstract

ABSTRACT The Baris Bugbug wali dance is different from the Baris dance in general, where in general the Baris dance is used as a complement to a ritual, but the uniqueness of the Baris Bugbug wali dance is as part of a series of piodalan ceremonial activities at Dalem Gede Selaungan Temple. The Baris Bugbug wali dance is a symbol of the Gandharwa-gandharwi as Ida Bhatara's troop or plan that goes down with Ida Bhatara during the piodalan ceremony. Before the Baris bugbug has been danced, other piodalan ritual activities cannot be continued, after which the Baris Bugbug dance will continue with the offering ritual of offering offerings. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between staging and piodalan activities at Dalem Gede Selaungan Temple. This study used a qualitative model, with data sources collected based on observations, literature studies and interviews with informants who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The conclusion of this research is from the formulation of the problem of the existence of the Baris Bugbug wali dance, that is, the entire range of movements and floor patterns of the Baris Bugbug wali dance has the meaning of the process of purifying the universe as the descent of Ida Bhatara's holy energy during the piodalan ceremony. From the formulation of the problem for staging Baris Bugbug, it is found that the stage before the performance is mental strengthening and seriousness to carry out the yadnya ceremony, the staging stage is part of the process of self-purification and jnana kanda to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi. And the finished stage of the performance is the process of releasing negative energy and welcoming positive energy in humans. In the formulation of the problem of the stages of sacralization, the result is that the process of sacralization is carried out on the dancers as a medium for the decline of Ida Bhatara's energy, and the spears and coils are places where Ida Bhatara's sacred energy descends. Keywords: wali dance, bugbug line, presence, staging, sacralization.

Abstract

This study explores the implications of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) development on the sustainability of Tri Hita Karana values in Denpasar City. Using a qualitative approach with case studies, in-depth interviews, and thematic data analysis, the research examines how solar energy aligns with Bali’s traditional values, including the spiritual, social, and environmental dimensions. The findings reveal that solar power supports the Parhyangan aspect by reducing carbon emissions and preserving nature, which is considered a manifestation of God’s greatness. In terms of Pawongan, the development of solar power creates job opportunities and enhances public awareness of clean energy. From a Palemahan perspective, it helps maintain ecological balance by minimizing the exploitation of fossil fuels and contributing to environmental conservation. The study concludes that integrating solar energy with Tri Hita Karana values can provide a sustainable development model that harmonizes modern technology with local cultural wisdom. However, challenges such as land constraints and public awareness need to be addressed to fully realize the potential of solar power in Denpasar. This research offers a unique framework for balancing technological advancement with cultural preservation in urban development.

Abstract

In the principle of socio-ecology, the existence of various natural phenomena is a dynamic form that occurs in the spiritual and empirical corridor of humans in knowing the substance of the relationship of life between various dimensions, both physical and metaphysical. Hinduism in Bali has inherited a supply of fundamental knowledge regarding the context of disasters, which in various ritual practices carried out have the main purpose of harmonizing life between humans, God, and nature. Regarding this statement, knowledge about disasters and their mitigation is summarized in one of the tattwa texts called Lontar Rogha Sanghara Bhumi. This research is a qualitative research. In order to produce valid and credible research, this research uses two types of theoretical foundations to test the truth of the data obtained during the research. In this case, the eco-semiotic theory is used to analyze the signs of disaster conveyed by Lontar Rogha Sanghara Bhumi, while the Tri Hita Karana Theology theory is used to analyze the mitigation carried out for disaster management according to Lontar Rogha Sanghara Bhumi, and in the data analysis technique, content analysis is used so that this research can be presented descriptively. The findings produced in this study are the signs that appear before and are felt before the earthquake disaster occurs. The earthquakes in each sasih are believed to have different values and impacts so that the type of earthquake that has a destructive impact on nature and the type of earthquake that is believed to be a sign that the universe has been given a gift by God can be identified. Another finding is that the mitigation that should be carried out to overcome the disaster is by carrying out various tawur rituals such as Pancawalikrama and Labuh Gentuh to overcome disasters that occur periodically, while the nangluk merana, prayascitta, and guru piduka ceremonies are used to overcome disasters that occur incidentally.

Abstract

Kakawin Niti Sastra in the chanting of the Dharma Gita is often performed in various pesantian events in Bali, but it seems that it is not accompanied by an in-depth study of the values of ethical education contained therein. Therefore, the study of ethical education in Kakawin Niti Sastra is very relevant if applied and realized in the current era of globalization. The results of the study show that many interesting things can be described when examining the values of ethical education in Kakawin Niti Sastra which in this context discusses ethical education based on Hindu teachings, namely Tri Kaya Parisuddha. Holistically, this Hindu ethical teaching covers aspects of human work physically and spiritually. The process of thinking (manacika) becomes the beginning of a statement (wacika) or action (kayika) that occurs in humans. The definition of Tri Kaya Parisuddha means three purified actions. Tri Kaya Parisuddha as part of the teachings of ethical education in Hinduism will provide guidance and a path to peace and harmony in life in the world and the hereafter.

Abstract

The phenomenon of buying tirthas at cremation ceremonies in the Tabanan Regency area is deemed necessary to carry out research, considering that among the community there are pros and cons and even complaints because it is seen as something burdensome. Through this research, it is hoped that we will find the reasons that cause the phenomenon of buying tirtha at the cremation ceremony. The approach used in this research is a phenomenological approach. The data collected comes from primary data and secondary data. Data was collected using techniques: observation, interviews, and document study. Next, it is analyzed using qualitative descriptive and interpretative methods, then the final stage is presenting the research results. The research results show that the reasons for the phenomenon of "buying tirtha" at the cremation ceremony are: (1) the material aspects of making Tirtha Pangentas are difficult to obtain, (2) the authority and legality of the process of making Tirtha Pangentas only rests with Sulinggih/Siwa, (3). Tirtha Pangentas contains meaning as a means of freeing the spirit from worldly attachments and a guide to the spirit's journey to heaven according to its karma, (4) for practical and economic reasons, and (5) because of differences in perception in interpersonal communication.
