Abstract

Student worksheets based on character education used for learning effectiveness on natural disaster mitigation materials at SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Tengah. The method used in this research (Research and Development) which consists of Define (defining), Design (planning) Develop (development), Dissemminate (Deployment). The trials in this study amounted to 25 students. The instruments used are material expert validation instruments, media expert instruments, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The results of this study are as follow: 1) based on the results of validation by material experts obtained an average of 87% with very valid criteria and validation results by media experts obtained an average of 86% with very valid criteria 2) based on the results of students responses obtained an average an average of 80% with practical criteria and the teacher’s responses results obtained an average of 86% with very practical categories 3) based on the learning outcomes test before using the LKPD an average of 40% was obtained with less effective and after using the LKPD an average of 80% obtained with effective criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to find out whether there is an effect of the project-based learning model on the learning outcomes of Geography students at SMA Negeri Noebana. This type ofquasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group research design. The population of this study was all students of class XI IPS. Which consists of 2 classes total 46 students. The class XI IPS 1 student with a total of 23 people as the experimental class and students in class XI IPS 2 with a total of 23 people as the control class. The sampling technique used a saturate sampling technique. Data taken by test and documentation techniques. Data analyzed by Independen Sampel T-Test Previously the data were tested for normality, homogeneity test, and linearity test. The results showed that (1) there was an influence in the application of the project-based learning modelon student learning outcomes with the results of Independen Sampel T-Test analysis obtaining a significant value on the model item of 0.002 <0.05. (2) Student learning outcomes have increased with the application of project-based learning models. (3) This is evidenced by the difference in the average learning outcomes of students who achieve KKM in learning with project-based learning which is 95% higher than the percentage of students who achieve KKM in learning withconventional models which only reaches 65%.

Abstract

The aims of this research are, (1) to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in geography subjects (2) To determine the increase in students' critical thinking abilities. The type of research used is experimental research. The data collection techniques used in this research are: observation, exams/tests and documentation. The results of this research show that (1) There is an influence of the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model which can be proven from the results of the Independent Sample T-test data analysis using SPSS, namely that the sig. (2-tailed) 0.001<0.05 thus H0 is rejected then Ha is accepted. (2) There is an increase in students' critical thinking skills as seen from the magnitude of changes between the pre-test and post-test. The average N-Gain score obtained by the experimental class was higher, namely 0.52, while the N-Gain score obtained by the control class was 0.44.

Abstract

Earth Science System In The Community Learning Model is a model that is oriented towards problems that occur in the earth that can be solved within the scope of the community (society). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Earth Science Community (EarthComm) learning model i n geography subjects on students' spatial thinking skills at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Kupang. The type of research used is quantitative research, the method used is quasi-experimental with the form of research design is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study is all students of class XI IPS with sampling techniques using saturated sampling techniques. The results of this study indicate that the average value of the experimental class is higher than the control class. It is known that the average value of the control class is 69.57 and the experimental class is 75.86 so that there is a difference between the two. Based on the results of data analysis of the Independent Sample T-Test test, there is an effect of the Earth Science System in the Community (EarthComm) learning model in geography subjects on students' spatial thinking skills compared to the control class using the conventional model. The EarthComm learning model is recommended to be used as a variation of teacher learning in the application of the learning model. This model can also be develo ped by other researchers by adding moderator variables or other media.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the supporting components of learning. Learning media has the benefit of increasing students 'interest and interactive, besides that learning media also influences students' interest in learning. The media used should follow the current development of science and technology. This research aims to (1) produce infographic poster learning media, (2) determine the feasibility of infographic poster-based learning media. The making of this infographic poster learning media uses the Borg & Gall development model which consists of ten manufacturing steps. Making this learning media using a support application, namely CANVA. The development of this learning media produces a product that is an infographic poster. Based on the results of media development,infographic media is appropriate to be used a geography based learning media; (a) The results of the validation of the material experts get a percentage of eligibility 73% with eligibility criteria, (b) The results of the validation of media experts get a percentage of eligibility 98.18% with very decent criteria, (c) The results of the user trial (teacher + student) get a percentage of feasibility 83.16% with very decent criteria. Based on the results of the validation of material and media experts as well as the results of user trials it can be concluded that the infographic poster learning media is feasible to be used as a medium for learning geography.

Abstract

Nggela Village, which is in the administrative area of Ende Regency, is one of the villages in the Wolojita sub-district which is prone to geological disasters, namely landslides. Mitigation efforts to increase public awareness in dealing with disasters can be done through education to students in Nggela village. Education is a conscious human effort in understanding themselves and their environment, or human efforts in understanding the interactions between the macro and micro cosmos. This research is focused as an effort to obtain an explanation of the integration of the values of local wisdom of the Nggela village community in the traditional Joka’Juceremony as a character formation of students in building disaster awareness behavior among students. The type of research is qualitative research particularly literature study with a descriptive analysis approach to produce information in the form of notes and descriptive data found in reference sources or literature. The traditional Joka’Juceremony which is carried out once a year to commemorate the new year according to local customs with the aim of repelling the bala or what is known as driving out evil spirits and as an effort to ask God to avoid disaster. This ceremony is a tradition and culture of the Indonesian people, especially the people on the Flores island, Ende Regency, Nggela Village, Lio tribe. This ritual is seen as one of the correct ones that was stated by its previous predecessors. This social value can be integrated as a disaster awareness effort for students in Nggela village where schools are obliged to equip students with education both theoretically (related to science and technology) and non-theoretically (relating to the formation of morals and character).

Abstract

Urban land use is one of the important factors in urban environmental planning and modeling. Recent developments also show that Remote Sensing has been accepted as one of the main tools for information extraction and mapping. Extraction of land use information based on Remote Sensing includes visual interpretation and digital interpretation. This study aims to assess the ability of SAS Planet High Resolution Satellite Imagery in mapping land use, and obtaining information on land use changes in terms of the area and type of land use in the research area in 2010-2018. This research is focused in 3 (three) sub-districts in Kupang City. The reason for choosing the location is because observations show that there are many changes in land use, even areas that should not be used have experienced a touch of development. In addition, there are several educational centers, especially universities located in the area which tend to trigger land use changes. The research method used is survey method and data collection with SAS Planet Satellite Image Interpretation. The method of spatial analysis using GIS is by visual interpretation, digitization and overlay. Visual interpretation, digitization and overlay are used to determine land use changes that occur in the study area. The results in this study indicate that SAS Planet High Resolution Satellite Imagery can be used to identify land use information in Kupang City, because it can display objects more clearly, so that interpretation results can reach 90 percent accuracy and land use change analysis shows that within 8 years (2010-2018) there has been a significant change in land use where the built up land in the form of buildings, settlements and forests/mangroves has increased in area. Along with that, there is a reduction in the area of ​​use of grasslands and shrubs. Conversion of the fields also occurs in a moderate area. there was a significant change in which the highest land change occurred in the use of built-up land (buildings and settlements) and forests/mangroves, each of which experienced an increase of 108.45 ha (3.44 percent), settlements increased by 894.88 ha (27.50 percent) , and forest/mangrove area increased by 167.92 ha (5.16 percent).

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kapasitas pendidik pengampu mata pelajaran geografi melalui peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menggunakan alat-alat pratikum geografi. Kegiatan ini di laksanakan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat program studi pendidikan geografi FKIP UNDANA berjumlah 6 orang dan di ikuti oleh 25 guru geografi di kota Ende. Target yang ditetapkan dalam pengabdian bagi masyarakat yaitu guru-guru geografi yang berada pada jenjang SMA/MA di wilayah Kota Ende. Metode yang dipakai dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut adalah penyelenggaraan inservice berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pelatihan yangdilaksanakan adalah pelatihan menggunakan alat pratikum geografi. kemampuan guru di lihat melalui hasil obsevasi. Hasil menunjukan guru-guru sangaat antusias dalam pratikum ini, kemampuan guru meningkat dalam penggunaan alat pratikum geografi.Abstract: The purpose of this activity is to improve the quality and capacity of educators who teach geography subjects through increasing knowledge and skills in using geography practicum tools. This activity was carried out by the community service team of the geography education study program FKIP UNDANA totaling 6 people and attended by 25 geography teachers in the city of Ende. The targets set in community service are geography teachers who are at the high school/MA level in the Ende City area. The method used in achieving these goals is the implementation of inservice in the form of training and mentoring. The training carried out is training using geography practicum tools. The teacher's ability is seen through the results of observation. The results showed that teachers were very enthusiastic in this practicum, the ability of teachers increased in the use of geography practicum tools.

Abstract

Curah hujan di Kabupaten Manggarai merupakan curah hujan tertinggi di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur namun demikian masih terjadi gagal panen yang diakibatkan oleh beberapa factor diantaranya hama dan anomaly cuaca ekstrim beberapa tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan: untuk mengetahui sistem pengolahan lahan pertanian padi sawah Desa Meler Kecamatan Ruteng Kabupaten Manggarai. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus kewilayahan. Metode pengumpulan data mengunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menjukan bahwa: 1) dalam pengolahan lahan pertanian melibatkan semua gender baik laki-laki maupun perempuan.2) Kebijakan pemerintah desa maupun adat mengikat aktivitas pertanian masyarakat lodok .3) aktivitas pertanian dilakukan dua kali setahun yaitu januari sampai mei dan juni sampai desember. 4) Penggunaan alat pertanian menggunakan alat tradisional dan modern 5) varietas padi yang dominan digunakan adalah padi  longko rembung.

Abstract

South Central Timor Regency is one of the districts in East Nusa Tenggara Province which often experiences flooding during the rainy season, as happened in South Amanuban District, especially in Bena Village. This research aims to: (1) To find out the forms of adaptation efforts of the population to survive living in the area prone to flooding, Bena village, South Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency; (2) To analyze the level of vulnerability to flood disasters in Bena Village, South Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The descriptive type aims to answer questions about who, what, when, where and how it is related to certain research. Descriptive research is used to obtain information about the variables or conditions of a situation. The informants in this research were actually flood victims in Bena Village, South Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency. Data Source Consists of primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are: observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research Results: (1) Based on the research results, it shows that the adaptation efforts of the population to survive living in areas prone to flood disasters in Bena Village are divided into 2 forms of adaptation efforts, namely active adaptation efforts and passive adaptation efforts; (2) Based on six parameters, namely soil type, elevation/place height, slope slope, land use, rainfall, and river density, the Bena Village area has three zones of flood vulnerability level, namely the non-prone zone, the moderately vulnerable zone and the moderate/prone zone flood.
