Abstract

A study on pigs aimed to determine the effect of fermented leaves supplementation on performance andIncome Over Feed Costs. The material used was 12 landrace crossbreed pigs aged 4-5 months with an initialbody weight of 40-51.5kg and an average of 41.21kg (KV=16.49%). This study used a randomized blockdesign consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were: R0: basal ration withoutfermented leaf meal (control); R1: basal ration + 5% cassava leaf meal; R2: basal ration + 5% sweet potatoleaf meal; R3: basal ration + 5% Moringa leaf meal. The parameters measured were feed consumption, bodyweight gain, ration conversion and Income Over Feed Costs. The analytical method used is analysis ofvariance and Duncan's Multiple RangeTests. The results of anova showed that the treatment had nosignificant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, weight gain, ration conversion and Income Over Feed Costs.In summary, the use of cassava leaves meal, sweet potato leaves meal and Moringa leaves meal as much as5% in basal diets does not affect feed consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion and income over feedcost. Suatu penelitian pada ternak babi bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi jenis dedaunanterfermentasi terhadap performan dan Income Over Feed Cost. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternakbabi peranakan landrace yang berumur 4 - 5 bulan dengan berat badan awal 40- 51,5 kg dan rataan 41,21 kg(KV= 16,49%). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah: R0: ransum basal tanpa tepung dedaunan terfermentasi (kontrol);R1: ransum basal + 5% tepung daun singkong; R2: ransum basal + 5% tepung daun ubi jalar; R3: ransumbasal + 5% tepung daun kelor. Parameter yang diukur ialah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan,konversi ransum dan Income Over Feed Cost. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis ragam dan ujijarak berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata(P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan, konversi ransum dan Income Over Feed Costternak babi penelitian. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemakaian tepung daun singkong, daun ubi jalar dandaun kelor yaitu 5% tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum danincome over feed cost

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of fermented red seaweed(Eucheuma cottonii) waste mealin the basal diet on the consumption and digestibility of protein and energy of landrace crossbed pigs in thegrower phase. The livestockusedwere 12 landrace crossbed pigs (weight32-73kg, average 49,98kg,coefficientof variance 25,25%). The experimental design used was arandomized block design with 4 treatments and 3replications. The treatment diets offered were R0 = basal diet without fermented red seaweed waste meal(control); R1:basal diet + 5% fermented red seaweed waste meal; R2: basal diet + 10% fermented redseaweed waste meal; and R3: basal diet + 15% fermented red seaweed waste meal. Variables evaluated wereintake and digestability of protein and energy. Statistical analysis found that including fermented red seaweedwaste meal in basal diet is not significant (P>0.05) on intake and digestibility protein and energy. Theconclusion ofthis study is that the use of fermented red seaweed waste mealup to 15% in the basal dietresulted in the same consumptionand digestibility as the control diet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung limbah rumput laut merah(Eucheuma cottonii) terfermentasi dalam ransum basal terhadap konsumsi dankecernaan protein dan energiternak babi peranakan landrace fase grower. Ternak yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor babi Peranakan Landrace(berat badan 32-73kg, rata-rata 49,98kg, koefisien varians 25,25%). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakanadalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang di uji coba yaitu R0:ransum basal 100% tanpa tepung limbah rumput laut merah terfermentasi (Kontrol); R1: ransum basal + 5%tepung limbah rumput laut merah terfermentasi; R2: ransum basal + 10% tepung limbah rumput laut merahterfermentasi; dan R3: ransum basal + 15% tepung limbah rumput laut merah terfermentasi. Variabel yangdiukur yaitu konsumsi dan kecernaan protein dan energi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaantepung limbah rumput laut merah (Euchema cottonii) terfermentasi dalam ransum basal berpengaruh tidaknyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi protein, kecernaan protein, konsumsi energi dan kecernaan energi.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu penggunaan tepung limbah rumput laut merah terfermentasi sampai 15%dalam ransum basal menghasilkan konsumsi dan kecernaan yang sama dengan ransum kontrol.

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to examine the effect of fermented cub (Brassica olaracea) flour onbody linear size and relative growth of landrace pigs in starter phase. Using 12 landrace crossbreed male pigsaged 1-2 months, initial body weight 9-15 kg with an average of 10.7 kg (CV 15.33%). The method testedusing RAK included 4 treatments that were repeated 3 times, namely RO: 100% ration without fermentedcabbage waste flour (TLKF)/(control), R1: ration with 5% TLKF, R2: ration with 10% TLKF, R ration with15% TLKF. The variables tested were the increase in body length, chest circumference, height and relativegrowth. Data obtained the ANOVA test showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on theincrease in body length, height, chest circumference and relative growth. Based on the results of the study, itwas concluded that the use of fermented cabbage waste flour had the same effect on body length, height,chest circumference and relative growth of starter phase pigs. However, the use of 15% fermented cabbagewaste flour is the best level. Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari pemberian tepung limbah kubis (Brassica olaracea)terfermentasi pada ukuran linier tubuh dan pertumbuhan relatif ternak babi landrace fase starter.Menggunakan 12 ekor ternak babi jantan peranakan landrace umur 1-2 bulan, berat badan awal 9-15 kgdengan rata-rata 10,7 kg (KV= 15,33%). Metode yang diuji menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok(RAK)meliputi 4 perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali yakni, R0: 100% ransum tanpa tepung limbahkubis fermentasi (TLKF)/(kontrol), R1: ransum dengan 5% TLKF, R2: ransum dengan 10% TLKF, R3:ransum dengan 15% TLKF. Variabel yang diukur adalah pertambahan panjang badan, lingkar dada, tinggibadansertapertumbuhan relatif. Data yang diperoleh dianalisismenggunakan analisisragam (ANOVA).UjiANOVAmenghasilkan, perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) padapertambahan panjang badan,tinggi badan, lingkar dada sertapertumbuhan relatif ternak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka disimpulkan,penggunaan tepung limbah kubis terfermentasi berpengaruh sama pada panjang badan, tinggi badan, lingkardada serta pertumbuhan relatif ternak babi fase starter,akan tetapi penggunaan 15% tepung limbah kubisterfementasi merupakan level terbaik.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of using sweet potato leaf and stem flour(Ipomoea batatas L.) at different levels on body size and protein use efficiency in grower pigs. Inthis study, 12 pigs aged 3-4 months were used with an initial weight of 36-73 kg and an average of55.33 kg (CV=23.93%). Using the Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with 4 treatmentsand 3 replications. The treatment includes R0: basic ration without additional sweet potato leavesand stems, R1: basic ration with the addition of 5% sweet potato leaves and stems; R2: basic dietwith additional 10% sweet potato leaves and stems; R3: basic ration with additional 15% sweetpotato leaves and stems. Parameters tested included increase in body length, increase in chestcircumference, increase in body length and efficiency of protein use. The results of analysis ofvariance showed that treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on increasing body size andefficiency of protein use in research pigs. It was concluded that sweet potato leaf and stem flourcan be used up to 15% in grower pig rations without affecting body size increase and protein useefficiency. Tujuan penelitianadalah untukmengetahui efek pemanfaatan tepung daun dan batang ubijalar(Ipomoea batatas L.) pada tingkat yang berbeda terhadap ukuran tubuh dan efisiensipenggunaan protein pada ternak babigrower. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan 12 ekor babi yangberumur 3-4 bulan dengan berat awal 36-73 kg dan rata-rata 55,33 kg(KV=23,93%).Menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan3 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut meliputi R0: ransum dasar tanpa tambahan daun dan batang ubijalar, R1: ransum dasardengantambahan 5% daun dan batang ubi jalar ; R2: ransum dasar dengantambahan 10% daun dan batang ubi jalar; R3: ransum dasar dengan tambahan 15% daun danbatang ubi jalar. Parameter yang diuji meliputi pertambahan panjang badan, pertambahan lingkardada, pertambahan panjang badan dan efisiensi penggunaan protein. Data yang terkumpuldianalisis dengan analisis ragam (Anova). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuantidak berpengaruh signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan ukuran tubuh dan efisiensipenggunaan protein pada babi penelitian. Disimpulkan bahwa tepung daun dan batang ubi jalardapat digunakan hingga 15% pada ransum ternak babi grower tanpa mempengaruhi pertambahanukuran tubuh dan efisiensi penggunaan protein.

Abstract

The study aimed at evaluating the effect of using rejected water spinach and fermented tofu dregs in pork rations on consumption, digestibility of crude fat and crude fiber. This study used 12 landrace pigs in the grower-finisher phase aged 3-4 months with an initial weight of 30-48 kg and an average of 14.25 (CV=15.47%). This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were R0 = basal ration (control), R1 = ration containing 10% mixture of Rejected water Spinach and fermented tofu dregs, R2 = ration containing 15% mixture of Rejected water Spinach and fermented tofu dregs, R3 = ration containing 20% mixture of Rejected water Spinach and dregs fermented tofu. The variables studied were consumption, digestibility of crude fat and crude fiber. The results of the analysis showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on crude fat consumption, crude fat digestibility and crude fiber digestibility, as well as increasing crude fiber consumption very significantly (P<0.01). It can be concluded that the use of a mixture of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs up to 20% increased crude fiber consumption but had no effect on crude fat consumption, crude fat digestibility and crude fiber digestibility. A mixture of rejected kale and tofu dregs can be used up to 20% in the ration.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to increase the source of animal protein from pork, requiring continuous availability of animal feed, providing opportunities for utilizing market vegetable waste. There is a large amount of this waste every day and much of it has not been utilized and even tends to cause environmental pollution. This research used an experimental method, with a randomized block design consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replications so that there were 12 experimental units. Treatment consisted of R0: Basal ration without the use of fermented cabbage waste flour (FCWF) R1: 95% RB + 5% FCWF, R2: 90% RB + 10% FCWC, R3: 85% RB + 15% FCWF. The parameters measured were ration and crude protein consumption, body weight gain and ration conversion. The results of the analysis showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain and ration conversion. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that the level of adding cabbage flour with a percentage of 5%, 10%, 15% gave a relatively similar response.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of including fermented water spinach and tofu waste in diets on the intake and digestibility of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) in Landrace crossbred pigs at the grower–finisher phase. Twelve pigs aged 3–4 months with initial body weights of 30.00–49.00 kg were assigned to a randomized block design with four treatments (R0: control; R1: 10% inclusion; R2: 15% inclusion; R3: 20% inclusion) and three replications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that up to 20% inclusion of fermented water spinach and tofu waste had no significant effect (P>0.05) on calcium intake, calcium digestibility, or phosphorus intake, but significantly decreased (P<0.05) phosphorus digestibility. It can be concluded that the addition of up to 20% of these ingredients is safe for use in pig diets without reducing mineral intake, although attention should be paid to phosphorus digestibility.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of replacing commercial complete feed with homemade complete feed on digestibility of energy and protein landrace crossbreed pigs in the starter phase. The material used was 12 landrace crossbreed pigs in starter phase aged 8-12 weeks with initial body weight of 6,5-15,6kg (CV=31,67%). This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 4 treatments with each treatment made 3 replications so that there were 12 experimental units. The treatments were P1: 100% commercial complete feed (CCF), P2: 50% commercial complete feed + 50% homemade complete feed (HCF), P3: 25% commercial complete feed + 75% homemade complete feed , P4: 100% homemade complete feed. The variables measured wer the consumption and digestibility of energy and protein. The data collected in this study were tabulated and analyzed using the analysis of variance. The results of statistical analysis showed that the treatment had significant effect (P<0,05) on protein consumption and no significant effect (P>0.05) on the energi consumption, digestibility of energy and digestibility of protein. It was concluded that the replacement of commercial complete feed with homemade complete feed had an effect on increasing energy consumption and protein consumption and gave the same results on energy and protein digestibility in starter phase pigs.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan silase limbah sawi putih (Brassica pekinensia L) dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik babi grower. Ternak yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi peranakan landrace fase grower yang berumur 3-4 bulan dengan bobot badan awal berkisar 29-52 kg dan rataan 36 kg (KV = 17,72%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 12 unit percobaan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah R0: 100% ransum basal, R1: 90% ransum basal + 10% silase limbah sawi putih, R2: 85% ransum basal + 15% silase limbah sawi putih, dan R3: 80% ransum basal + 20% silase limbah sawi putih. Variabel yang diteliti adalah konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,.05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan silase limbah sawi putih (Brassica pekinensia L) dalam ransum basal pada level 10%, 15%, dan 20% memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik ternak babi fase grower.

Abstract

Pig farming has great potential to be developed because it is efficient in converting feed into meat. Feed is the largest cost component in production, which is about 60-80% of the total cost. Landrace pigs are the main choice of breeders because of their fast growth and docile temperament. However, the high price of factory-made feed encourages farmers to look for alternative feed ingredients, including agricultural waste such as sweet potato leaves (Ipomea batatas L), which are rich in nutrients and relatively cheap (Sihombing, 2016). Sweet potato leaves contain 25.51% crude protein and various other important nutrients, but they also contain anti-nutrient substances such as tannins. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving of leaf and stems sweet potato meal (SPM) on performa and income over feed costs (IOFC) in the grower pig. A total of 12 female landrace pigs aged 3-4 months with an average body weight of 55.5 kg (CV = 24.23%) were used in this study. The experimental method used a randomized block design, with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tried consisted of R0: ration without sweet potato leaf and stems meal sweet potato (SPM), R1: ration 5% (SPM), R2: ration 10% (SPM) meal, R3: ration 15% (SPM). The variables studied were performa and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC).The variables measured are ration consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and Income Over Feed Cost of research pigs. It can be concluded that the use of leaf and stems meal sweet potato 5%, 15% in pig rations provide the same response to provide the same effect on body weight gain, ration conversion and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). leaves and stems sweet potato can be used up to 15%.
