Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of level substitution of Suket Putihan Grass (Bothriochloa pertusa) grass with water spinach (Ipomea Reptans Poir) on Energi Utilization of Kacang Goat. Four male kacang goats aged 1-1.5 years old with an initial body weight of 16,2 –19,8 kg (averaged ± 18 kg) were used in this study following a 4x4 Latin Square Design (RBSL) with 4 treatments and 4 periods as replications. The treatments were P0: 60% Bothriochloa pertusa + 40% lamtoro, P1:45% Bothriochloa pertusa + 40% lamtoro + 15% Ipomea Reptans Poir, P2 : 30% Bothriochloa pertusa + 40% Leucaena leucocephala + 30% Ipomea Reptans Poir, P3:15% Bothriochloa pertusa + 40% lamtoro + 45% Ipomea Reptans Poir. Parameters measured were energy consumption, energy digestibility, digestible energy and metabolisable energy. Data obtained were analyzed using the analysis of variance(ANOVA) The results showed that  substitution of Bothriochloa pertusa grass with Ipomea Reptans Poir had no significant effect (P>0,05) on all measured parameters. The conclusion is that the substitution of Suket Putihan grass (Bothriochloa pertusa) with water spinach (Ipomea Reptans Poir) does not affect Energy Utilization of kacang goats.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilaksanakan untuk menerapkan berbagai pengetahuan yang diajarkan di perguruan tinggi untuk dilaksanakan di masyarakat luas baik secara teknis maupun non teknis. Pola Penggemukan dengan sistim Bagi hasil adalah suatu kegiatan penyuluhan yang berfungsi memberikan informasi tentang system hilir dalam agribisnis peternakan. System bagi hasil yang ada di Desa Kamanasa dan desa Kletek khususnya untuk penggemukan ternak sapi. Kesepakatan yang dilakukan oleh pemilik ternak dengan peternak penggaduh merupakan kesepakatan lisan, dengan menghormati hak dan kewajiban baik sebagai pemilik ternak maupun sebagai penggaduh. System bagi hasil yang diberlalkukan di Desa kamanasa dan Desa Kletek untuk system penggemukan adalah 40 % untuk penggaduh dan 60% untuk pemilik ternak, dari keuntungan yang diperoleh. Dengan ketentuan bahwa lama waktu penggemukan dan target bobot hidup yang disepakati menjadi patokan dalam perjanjian antara penggaduh dan pemilik ternak.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content and digestibility of the rumen contents of Bali Timor cattle at two different Slaughterhouses (RPH), Bimoku and Aldia, Kupang, using in vitro methods. The research employed an experimental method designed with an analysis using the T-test (comparison test). A total of 15 female Bali Timor cattle from each slaughterhouse were used as replicates (n). The variables observed were the content and digestibility of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM). Data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test at a 5% significance level to compare the rumen contents quality of RPH Bimoku and RPH CV Aldia. The T-test results showed that the dry matter (DM) content at RPH CV Aldia was significantly (p > 0.05) higher than that at RPH Bimoku; organic matter (OM) at RPH CV Aldia was highly significant (p > 0.01) higher than that at RPH Bimoku; the digestibility of dry matter (DMD) and organic matter (OMD) at RPH CV Aldia was highly significant (p > 0.01) higher than that at RPH Bimoku. It is concluded that the difference in slaughterhouse location causes differences in the content of dry matter, organic matter, and their digestibility in the rumen contents of Bali Timor cattle.

Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the nutritional profile and in vitro fermentation characteristics of mixed silage of Kume grass and Moringa leaves in the feed chemistry laboratory, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Nusa Cendana. The materials used were Kume grass and Moringa leaves, with the addition of rice bran as a fermentation stimulant. The research used an experimental method with a completely randomised design consisting of four treatments and five replications. The treatments were the proportions of Kume grass and Moringa leaves, respectively: KK0 = 100% Kume grass + 0% Moringa leaves; KK25 = 75% Kume grass +  25% Moringa leaves;  KK50 = 50% Kume grass + 50% Moringa leaves and KK75 = 25% Kume grass + 75% Moringa leaves. The parameters measured included organoleptic quality, silage nutrient content, in vitro digestibility, and rumen fermentation. The results showed that increasing the level of Moringa leaves resulted in good ensilage, indicated by the absence of mould and a sour aroma. Rising levels of moringa leaves had a statistically significant effect (P<0.01) on the nutrient content of silage, rumen fermentation, and in vitro digestibility of the silage. It can be concluded that ensiling technology using Moringa leaves offers a promising solution to address feed shortages.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of providing complete feed silage based on sorghum-Clitoria ternatea with the addition of concentrate containing ZnSO4 and Zn-Cu isoleucinate on the blood metabolites of Kacang goats.  This research used 12 Kacang goats aged 12 months with an average body weight of 13.21 kg (KV=14.01%).  This research used an experimental method with a randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 3 replications.  The four treatments are T0: sorghum-Clitoria ternatea silage without concentrate, T1: complete feed silage containing 10% concentrate, T2: complete feed silage containing 20% concentrate, and T3: complete feed silage containing 30% concentrate, each treatment contains  150 ZnSO4 kg concentrate and Zn-Cu kg Isoleucinate ration.  The results of this study showed that giving complete feed silage with the addition of concentrate containing ZnSO4 and Zn-Cu isoleucinate did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on cholesterol levels, glucose levels, total plasma protein levels and blood urea levels in Kacang goats.  In conclusion, giving complete feed silage based on sorghum-Clitoria ternatea with the addition of concentrate containing ZnSO4 and Zn-Cu isoleucinate does not affect cholesterol levels, glucose levels, total plasma protein levels and blood urea levels in Kacang goats.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of adding katuk leaf flour (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr), turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) and their combination in rations on consumption, calcium and phosphorus digestibility in pigs. The material used in this research were 12 pigs aged 1-2 months with a body weight range of 6-10.25 kg (KV= 19.61%). The design method used was an experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 groups as replications. The treatments tried were R0: Basal ration without adding katuk leaf flour and turmeric flour, R1: Basal ration + 4% katuk leaf flour, R2: Basal ration + 1% turmeric flour, R3: Basal ration + 4% katuk leaf flour + 1 % turmeric flour. The collected data was analyzed using analysis of variance (Anova). The results of analysis of variance showed that the addition of katuk leaf flour and turmeric flour in the ration had no significant effect (P>0.05) on calcium and phosphorus digestibility consumption. It was concluded that the addition of katuk leaf flour (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) and turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) and a mixture of the two provided the same calcium and phosphorus digestibility consumption.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of using rejected kale (Ipomoea aquatica) and fermented tofu dregs in rations on the performance and IOFC (Income Over Feed Cost) of grower-finisher landrace pigs. This research was conducted at the Manoneh Pig Farm, Naioni Village, Alak District, Kupang City. The material used was 12 landrace pigs, aged 3-4 months, initial body weight was 30.00 – 49.00 kg with an average of 41.25 kg (CV = 15.48%). The experimental method used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were R0: rations without a mixture of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs, R1: rations containing 10% mixture of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs, R2: rations containing 15% mixture of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs, R3: rations containing 20% a mixture of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs. The variables studied were performance consisting of ration consumption, body weight gain and ration conversion and IOFC. The collected data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the use of rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs in the ration had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain, ration conversion and IOFC, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption. It was concluded that the ration using rejected kale and fermented tofu dregs at levels of 10%, 15%, and 20% had relatively the same effect on ration consumption, improving ration conversion, increasing body weight gain and IOFC.
