Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate gas production and in vitro fermentation products from feed containing leaves of white kabesak (acacia leucophloea Roxb.)Willd. Feed was composed of a ratio of 60% natural grasses and 40% concentrate. The treatments were used levels of white kabesak leaves in concentrates i.e. 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40% in the dry matter (DM) basis as treatments, R0, R1, R2, R3 and R4 treatments, respectively. The results showed that inclusion of acacia leucophloea leaves in concentrate increased organic matter and crude fiber contents but decreased the crude protein content. Increasing level of acacia leucophloea  leaves in concentrate decreased  gas production (b, ml / 500 mg DM) from 198.29 (R0) to 139.93 (R4). The gas production rate (c, ml /hour) was relatively constant between 0.034 to 0.036 on R0 - R3 and 0.028 on R4. Gas production at 48 hours incubation (y, ml / 500 mg DM) decreased from 153.38 (R0) to 103.23 (R4). The NH3 concentrations ranged from 6.17-7.31 mg / 100 ml and the total VFA was 83.07-91.96 mM. The lowest C2 / C3 ratio was in R2 (2.63). The highest IVDMD was 50.18-67.14% in R0 and the lowest IVOMD was 55.04-71.35% R4. The use of acacia leucophloea leaves at level 20% in concentrates as supplements was more efficient in reducing gas production and in vitro fermentation products.

Abstract

Program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) berupa teknologi penyediaan pakan suplemen berbasis pakan lokal telah dilaksanakan di desa Baumata Utara, Kecamatan Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang. Sebanyak 24 orang peserta peternak kambing ikut serta dalam kegiatan ini. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah kegiatan penyuluhan untuk memperkaya pengetahuan peternak terhadap penyediaan pakan untuk ternak kambing. Pemaparan materi dan diskusi seputar pemeliharaan kambing, jenis pakan dan cara menyajikannya merupakan metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dalam bentuk praktek penyusunan ransum menggunakan bahan pakan lokal yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan bagi pertumbuhan kambing. Dalam kegiatan pelatihan ditunjukkan berbagai bahan pakan konsentrat yang dapat digunakan dalam ransum sebagai suplemen dan pakan lokal yang berasal dari hijauan leguminosa yang telah diproses menjadi tepung. Pencampuran bahan pakan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan kambing dan dapat diikuti peserta dengan baik. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan memberikan pakan yang telah diramu kepada kambing yang ada. Masyarakat mitra peserta kegiatan PKM mendapat pengayaan dan ketrampilan penyediaan pakan bagi ternak kambing yang dipelihara dengan mengandalkan pakan lokal yang terdapat di sekitar usaha peternakannya serta dapat mengadopsi informasi teknologi penyediaan pakan untuk ternak kambing.

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra kelompok tani ternak di desa Baumata Utara adalah rendahnya pengetahuan akan penyediaan pakan sapi yang bermutu dan dapat memenuhi kebutuhannya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pembuatan produk pemasakan urea dengan tepung putak dan penggunaannya dalam pakan konsentrat sebagai suplemen ransum ternak sapi. Metode kegiatan adalah, 1) penyuluhan tentang teknologi pemasakan urea dengan tepung putak dan pemanfaatannya dalam ransum sapi; 2) praktek, pembuatan produk pemasakan urea dengan tepung putak, praktek pencampuran produk tersebut dalam pakan konsentrat dan penerapan pemberiannya sebagai pakan suplemen pada ternak sapi dan 3) evaluasi kegiatan secara umum bersama mitra untuk mendapatkan input dan feedback bagi kegiatan di waktu mendatang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan 1) peternak mitra sangat antusias menerima inovasi baru di bidang penyediaan pakan bagi ternak sapi; 2) Hasil diskusi dan evaluasi verbal maupun praktek menunjukkan mitra paham dan dapat mengaplikasikannya; 3) Adanya harapan untuk keberlanjutan kegiatan sejenis di waktu mendatang. Disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat diapresiasi oleh peternak mitra karena teknologi pemasakan urea-tepung putak dan penggunaannya dalam ransum konsentrat bagi ternak sapi yang diinformasikan ini memberi wawasan bagi peningkatan sistem pemeliharaan ternak sapi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan gizinya. Adanya keterbukaan mitra dalam menerima inovasi baru ini. Kata kunci: Inovasi, Suplemen, Urea Lepas Lambat, Tepung Putak, Sapi Bali ABSTRACT The problem with the partners of the livestock farmer groups in Baumata Utara village is the lack of knowledge about the supply of quality cattle feed that can meet their needs. The purpose of this activity is to provide counseling and training on the manufacture of urea cooking products with putak flour and its use in concentrate feed as a supplement for cattle rations. The methods of activity are, 1) counseling on the technology for cooking urea with putak flour and its use in cow rations; 2) practice, manufacture of urea cooking products with putak flour, practice mixing these products in concentrate feed and applying it as supplementary feed for cattle and 3) general evaluation of activities with partners to get input and feedback for future activities. The results of the activity show 1) partner breeders are very enthusiastic about receiving new innovations in the field of providing feed for cattle; 2) The results of the discussion and evaluation of verbal and practice show that partners understand and can apply it; 3) There is hope for the sustainability of similar activities in the future. It is concluded that this activity is highly appreciated by partner breeders because the technology for cooking urea-putak flour and its use in concentrate rations for cattle provides insight into improving the system for raising cattle in meeting its nutritional needs. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the pith gewang gelatinized with urea on the growth of the bali cattle that received natural grass as basal ration. Fifteen male bali cattle were allocated to get one of the three ration treatments, namely, gewang pith mixed with urea (R0), product gelatinized gewang pith with urea as much 15% (R1) and the product of gelatinized gewang pith with urea as much 30% (R2). A completely randomized design was used as a trial design with 3 treatments and 5 replications. Research data were analysis of variance and Duncan’s multiple range test. The results of the study showed that use product of gelatinized gewang pith with urea increased consumption, digestibility, weight gain and feed efficiency of bali cattle ration (P<0,01). The response of bali cattle was higher in the use of product gelatinized gewang pith with urea in the ration compared to mixture of gewang pith with urea. The use of gelatinized product as much 30% in the ration was significantly higher than the use of as much 15%. It was concluded that the use of gelatinized product of pith gewang with urea as supplement in the ration increased consumption, digestibility, weight gain and feed efficiency of bali cattle which consumption natural grass compared to the use of mixed gewang pith with urea. The highest growth response was shown by bali cattle that received product of gelatinized gewang pith with urea as much 30% in the ration.

Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate replacement of soybean meal with corn mixed urea gelatinize product in concentrate as supplement of goats that supress nitrogen excretion and increase N metabolism. Sixteen Kacang goats (12.839±0.49 kg of live weight) were used in Completely randomized design with four treatments and four replication. The animals were randomly allocated to receive one of the following experiment diets Gliricidia + concentrate with ratio of soybean meal and product of gelatinize mixed corn-urea that: 1) 100:0 (P0), 2) 75:25 (P1), 3) 50:50 (P2) and 4) 25:75 (P3). Ration were formulated to contain 12% CP with ratio 60 % gliricidia and 40% concentrates. The result showed that total dry matter intake was significantly influenced of treatments and average of DMI each treatment was, P2 (467.99±2.19 g/h/d), P1 (441.20±2.10 g/h/d), P0 (440.08±2.29 g/h/d) and P3 (430.43±6.11 g/h/d). Dry matter and crude protein digestibility from each treatment was, P2 (76.45±0.39% and 80.63±0.37%), P1 (67.85±0.24% and 70.10±0.18%), P0 (67.85±0.74% and 70.68±0.42%) and P3 (60.62±0.41% and 61.96±0.69%). Treatment P2 highest than other treatments. Nitrogen retention and biological value significantly influenced of the treatment. Excretion of feces and urine lowest at P2 than P1, P0 and P3. N consumption, Total N Excretion and N digested not significantly influenced of the treatment but P2 better of other treatment. It could be concluded that 50% replacement soybean meal by product gelatinize of mixed corn-urea in concentrate has positive effects on nitrogen metabolism of Kacang goats.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of the use of gliricidia leaves and papaya leaves in rations on the growth of kacang goats. The male Kacang goat, growth age (1 - 1.5 years) as many as 12 tails with an initial body weight of 13.55 ± 0.036 kg (BW ± standard error) were used as experimental animals. The experimental design used is a complete randomized design of factorial patterns 2 x 2 with two factors, namely, gliricidia leaf factor (A) with two levels of giving (a1 15% and a2 30%), papaya leaf factor (B) with two levels of giving (b1 5% and b2 10%) so that 4 treatment combinations are formed. The combination of treatments is, a1b1, a1b2, a2b1 and a2b2. The treatment was repeated 3 times to form 12 experimental units. The parameters tested were the consumption and digesting of dry matter as well as ration nutrients, weight gain and efficiency of ration use. The data was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by the Duncan test to compare between treatments. The results showed that there was no significant interaction (P >0.05) on all the parameters measured. The response of goat to parameters is more influenced by the single effect of gliricidia leaves and papaya leaves. The response to the use of gliricidia leaves is 30% and papaya leaves are 10% higher than the level of use below. It was concluded that the use of gliricidia leaves and papaya leaves can increase goat growth but the combination has not provided a significant interaction for it requires further study with a combination of higher levels.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fermented gamal leaf flour as a substitute for concentrate in the basal ration on the performance of landrace crossbreed pigs. The materials used in this study were 16 landrace crossbred male pigs at the starter phase aged 1–2 months, with an average of 7.56 kg and KV of 40.68%. The design was a randomized block design with four treatments and four replications. The treatments were R0: basal ration + 100 concentrate without fermented gamal leaf meal (FGLF), R1: basal ration + 90% concentrate + FGLF 10%, R2: basal ration + 80% concentrate + FGLF 20%, R3: basal ration + 70% concentrate + 30% FGLF. The results of variance showed that the use of fermented gamal leaf flour (FGLF) as a substitute for concentrate in the basal ration of landrace crossbreed pigs had no significant effect (P>0.05) on performance. This study concluded that using fermented gamal leaf flour as a substitute for concentrate in basal rations in landrace crossbreed pigs gave relatively the same results up to 30%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian silase campuran rumput  kume dan daun markisa hutan (passiflora foetida) dengan proporsi yang berbeda terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan  pakan kambing kacang yang diberi pakan  ad libitum. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin ( RBSL )  dengan empat perlakuan pemberian campuran silase rumput kume dan daun markisa hutan serta empat periode pengambilan data sebagai ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah  M0 : 100 %  silase Rumput  Kume, M20 : Rumput Kume 80%  +  Markisa Hutan 20 %, M40 : Rumput Kume 60% + Markisa Hutan  40 %, M60 : Rumput Kume 40 % + Markisa Hutan 60 %. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis of variance ( ANOVA ).Parameter yang diukur adalah  konsumsi bahan kering, konsumsi bahan organik,kecernaan bahan kering, kecernaan bahan organik, konsumsi bahan kering dan bahan organiktercerna, dan Total DigestibleNutrient ( TDN ). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian silase campuran rumput kume dan daun markisa hutandalam proporsi yang berbeda  tidak berpengaruh nyata ( P>0,05) terhadap konsumsibahan kering dan bahan organik, kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik, Konsumsi bahan kering dan bahan organik tercerna serta nilai TDN ransum. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian silase campuran rumput kume dan  daun markisa hutan dengan proporsi yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan pakan kambing kacang.    Kata kunci : markisa hutan, rumput kume, silase, konsumsi, kecernaan.   The aim of this studywas to evaluate the feeding diferent levels of silage compsed of kume grass (Shorgum plumosum var.Timorense), Passiflora foetida on intake and nutrient digestibility of kacang goat. The trial used a 4x4 Latin Square design procedure. The 4 treatments applied were: M0 : 100 %  kume grass, M20 :kume grass 80% + passiflora foetida 20%, M40 : kume grass 60% + passiflora foetida 40%, M60 : kume grass 40% + passiflora foetida60%. Data were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Variables evaluated were dry intkae, organic matter intake, dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility, and Total Digestible Nutrient ( TDN ) intake and digestibility. Statistcal analysis shows that the effect of is not significant (P>0,05) on dry and organic matter intake, dry and organic matter digestibility, intake of digestibledry matter and organic matter and Total Digestible Nutrient ( TDN ). The conclusion is that, the feeding diferent levels of silage compsed of kume grass (Shorgum plumosum var.Timorense), Passiflora foetida performs the similar results in feed intake and nutrient digestibility of Kacang goats.   Keywords : Passiflora foetida, kume grass, silage, intake, digestibility.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan limbah kubis dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan neutral detergent fiber (NDF) ransum ternak kambing kacang. Sebanyak 4 ekor kambing kacang, umur 11-12 bulan dengan berat badan 15-19kg (±17kg), KV 6,74% digunakan sebagai ternak percobaan. Rancangan bujur sangkar latin (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan digunakan sebagai rancangan percobaan. Ransum perlakuan disusun dalam bentuk ransum komplit (TMR/total mixed ration) dengan perbandingan rumput kering dan konsentrat 60:40. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah T0: ransum tanpa (0%) tepung limbah kubis, T1: ransum + 10% tepung limbah kubis, T2 : ransum + 15% tepung limbah kubis dan T3 : ransum +  20% tepung limbah kubis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan limbah kubis dalam total mixed ration tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi bahan kering, bahan organik, neutral detergent fiber maupun kecernaan neutral detergent fiber, sedangkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik  nyata (P<0,05) dipengaruhi perlakuan. Disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan limbah kubis dalam ransum ternak kambing tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi bahan kering, bahan organik, neutral detergent fiber, dan kecernaan neutral detergent fiber namun dapat meningkatkan nilai kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik ransum ternak kambing kacang. Disarankan limbah kubis untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak kambing karena tidak memberikan efek negatif dan pemanfaatan limbah kubis 20% dalam ransum ternak  meningkatkan kecernaan ransum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan konsentrat dan limbah jagung terhadap konsentrasi VFA, NH3 protein kasar dan serat kasar in-Vitro silase pakan komplit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 5 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dimaksud adalah P0 = limbah jagung muda 100% : 0 % konsentrat  + 80 ml starter; P1 = P0  90% : 10% konsentrat + 80 ml starter;  P2 = P0 80% :  20% konsentrat  + 80 ml starter; P3 : P0 70% : 30% konsentrat + 80 ml starter;  P4 = P0 60% : 40% konsentrat  + 80 ml starter. Variabel yang diukur adalah PK, SK, VFA, dan NH3. Data analisis menggunakan SPSS 25 for windows menggunakan level signifikansi P<0,05 dan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap peningkatan kandungan PK, produksi VFA dan NH3 juga menurunkan SKsimpulkan bahwa peningkatan ratio konsentrat limbah jagung muda pada silase pakan komplit meningkatkan kadar PK, produksi VFA dan NH3 serta menurunkan kadar SK.   This study aimed to determine the effect of different concentrates and corn waste on the concentration of VFA, NH3 crude protein and crude fiber in-vitro silage complete feed. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in question were P0 = 100% young corn waste: 0% concentrate + 80 ml starter; P1 = P0 90% : 10% concentrate + 80 ml starter; P2 = P0 80% : 20% concentrate + 80 ml starter; P3 : P0 70% : 30% concentrate + 80 ml starter; P4 = P0 60% : 40% concentrate + 80 ml starter. The variables measured were PK, SK, VFA, and NH3. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 for windows using a significance level of P<0.05 and Duncan's multiple-distance test. The results of statistical analysis showed that treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on increasing PK content, VFA and NH3 production also decreased SK. It was concluded that increasing the concentrate ratio of immature corn waste in complete feed silage increased PK levels, VFA and NH3 production and decreased SK levels.
