Abstract

This study examines the implementation of product innovation and e-commerce strategies in managing batik SMEs using a sustainability industry approach in Seberang, Jambi City. The study aimed to analyze how product innovation and digital marketing can support them, to explore their understanding and implementation of product innovation and e-commerce, as well as the challenges and sustainability outcomes. Data were collected through the following triangulation methods: observations were carried out during visits to batik workshops and SME locations, literature and document reviews relevant, and semi-structured interviews with in-depth Interviews were conducted with selected owners and managers of batik SMEs in Seberang Kota Jambi. The results showed that innovation in batik design, the use of eco-friendly materials, and the development of Jambi-specific motifs increased the market value of batik, strengthened cultural identity, and appealed to environmentally conscious consumers. On the other hand, e-commerce helped SMEs expand their market reach nationally and internationally, allowing them to compete more effectively. However, several challenges remain, including limited capital for innovation, low digital literacy among business owners, and a lack of policy support from the government. These barriers hindered the full adoption of innovation and digital strategies. Theoretically, this research contributed by enriching the concept of product innovation with a cultural and sustainability-based perspective, expanding the application of e-commerce theory to traditional MSMEs, and reinforcing sustainability theory in the creative industries rooted in local heritage. Moreover, it introduced a new managerial model that integrated local cultural values with modern digital business strategies, offering a practical framework for sustainable development in traditional SME sectors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher needs, quantity planning, quality, and distribution in Indonesia through a qualitative literature study approach. Data were obtained from various scientific sources such as journals, policy reports, and official documents from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The analysis shows that teacher needs in Indonesia are not yet aligned with available positions, exacerbated by a wave of mass retirements that has increased the deficit in several regions. Teacher number planning faces major obstacles in the form of inaccurate data and weak coordination between agencies, resulting in recruitment not always reflecting actual needs in schools. In terms of quality, competency improvement programs such as certification and training have not consistently improved pedagogical performance, particularly in areas with limited access. Furthermore, teacher distribution remains unequal, with a concentration in urban areas and shortages in Frontier, Remote, and Disadvantaged areas. These findings emphasize that the issues of teacher quantity, quality, and distribution are interrelated and require an integrative policy approach. Consequently, the government needs to develop an integrated education data system, strengthen needs-based planning, and implement incentives and ongoing professional development programs to encourage equitable teacher distribution across Indonesia.

Abstract

Human resource (HR) management in Indonesia’s education sector continues to face persistent challenges that directly influence the quality of national education. This study aims to analyze problems related to employment disparities between civil servant (PNS) and honorary teachers, unequal teacher distribution, recruitment quality, and welfare issues in educational institutions. Using a literature review method, the research synthesizes data from books, academic journals, and official government documents to identify key patterns and policy gaps. The results show that disparities in employment status create inequality in job security and motivation, while recruitment and placement often fail to reflect competency-based standards. Moreover, inadequate welfare and professional development opportunities significantly affect teacher satisfaction and performance. Therefore, this study emphasizes the need for comprehensive HR reforms in education to ensure equity, professionalism, and sustainable development among educators.

Abstract

This study examines the relevance and application of classical management theory in the development of educational organizations in the modern era. A literature review was conducted by analyzing scholarly works, research reports, and educational policy documents from 2015 to 2025 that discuss the principles of Taylor, Fayol, and Weber, as well as their adaptation in school contexts. The analysis indicates that classical management theory still makes a significant contribution to building organizational structures that are efficient, disciplined, and accountable. However, rigid implementation can hinder innovation, creativity, and educator participation. Therefore, integrating classical principles with neoclassical approaches, transformational leadership, and educational technology becomes an effective strategy for creating adaptive, innovative, and learning-quality-oriented educational organizations. These findings confirm that classical management theory is not merely a historical concept but a foundational framework that can be modernized to address the challenges of 21st-century education.
