Abstract

The purpose of this research is to apply the technology of making fish from tofu dregs to improve the quality of catfish and the economy of home-based catfish business in Asam Village. The tofu dregs used were obtained from the tofu and tempeh Home Industry in the Asam Kumbang Village area. The composition of the raw material for making catfish feed used is 80% tofu dregs + 20% shrimp head. The catfish feed that has been made is then tested for characteristics, namely protein 43.87%, fat 25.04%, carbohydrates 68, 73%. Observations were made for 42 days on catfish that were given fish feed from tofu dregs or those that were not given. The results obtained during 42 days of feeding fish from tofu waste with observations made on days 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 with the average weight (weight) of each fish (grams): 21, 58 , 92, 147, 193 and 240. Catfish that are ready to harvest have 5-6 tails per kg with the physical characteristics of large/fat fish. The cost of purchasing catfish seeds is Rp. 25 and the cost of making fish feed from tofu dregs for availability for 42 days (harvest mass) is Rp. 12,250. The catfish harvest period per kg is 5 fish and the selling price to the catfish seller is IDR 20,000 / kg. The catfish harvest for 42 days was 5 kg with a total selling price of Rp. 100.00. So the profit obtained from the sale of 4 kg of catfish is Rp. 87,750 or Rp. 3,500/head.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the best storage media and storage time for cocoa seeds. The research was carried out at the Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Medan Area University. The analytical method used is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with treatments, namely No Storage Media, Use of PE Plastic Storage Media + 1 Week Storage, PE Plastic + 2 Weeks Storage, PE Plastic + 3 Weeks Storage, Aluminum Foil Paper + 1 Week Storage, Aluminum Foil + 2 Weeks Storage, Aluminum Foil Paper + 3 Weeks Storage, Burlap Sack + 1 Week Storage, Burlap Sack + 2 Weeks Storage, Burlap Sack + 3 Weeks Storage, Glass Bottle + 1 Week Storage, Glass Bottle + 2 Weeks Storage , Glass Bottle + 3 Weeks of Storage, a total of 12 treatments with 3 replications. The data were analyzed statistically with the F test at a 5% significance level. If F Count is greater than F Table 5%, then it is continued with the Duncan' New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment on several storage media had a significant effect on the simultaneous growth of cocoa seeds. And the length of time for storing seeds for one week was significantly different, there were parameters for observing seed germination, seed growing simultaneously and seed growing speed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi zat pengatur tumbuh auksin dari jenis 2,4-D dan Picloram yang paling efektif terhadap pembentukan kalus tanaman nilam endemik Pasaman Barat yaitu Aksesi Situak secara  In-Vitro.  Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Andalas. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu Tanpa Konsentrasi, 1 mg/L 2,4-D + 1 mg/L BAP, 2 mg/L 2,4-D + 1 mg/L BAP, 3 mg/L 2,4-D + 1 mg/L BAP, 1 mg/L Picloram + 1 mg/L BAP, 2 mg/L Picloram + 1 mg/L BAP, 3 mg/L Picloram + 1 mg/L BAP, total keseluruhan terdiri dari 7 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan dengan 3 botol per ulangan. Data dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji F pada taraf nyata 5%. Apabila F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel 5%, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi 1,0 mg/L 2,4-D + 1,0 mg/L BAP dan 2,0 mg/L Picloram + 1,0 mg/L BAP merupakan konsentrasi auksin yang terbaik.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan tanaman kacang tanah dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemberian perlakuan bahan organik sebagai penyedia sumber hara bagi tanaman. Terutama pemanfaatan limbah yang dianggap tidak produktif, padahal jika di olah dengan tepat dapat memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi tanaman seperti halnya limbah baglog jamur tiram. Pemberian baglog jamur tiram memudahkan ginofor menembus media tanam dan membantu perkembangan pembentukan polong pada kacang tanah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan September hingga Desember 2022 dilahan percobaan kampus Universitas Medan Area. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan faktor pemberian baglog jamur tiram. Adapun perlakuan yang dilaksanakan yaitu A1 : Tanpa Baglog Jamur Tiram dan Pupuk Kandang (kontrol), A2 : Kompos  Baglog Jamur Tiram, A3 : Pupuk Kandang, A4 : Kompos  Baglog Jamur Tiram + Pupuk Kandang (Perbandingan ½ : ½ ), A5: Kompos  Baglog Jamur Tiram + Pupuk Kandang (1:1). Hasil perlakuan memberikan pengaruh terhadap persentase tumbuh tanaman yang mencapai 100 %, sedangkan bobot buah persampel yang dihasilkan terberat terdapat pada perlakuan Kompos  Baglog Jamur Tiram + Pupuk Kandang perbandingan 1:1.

Abstract

Corn is the second main food crop after rice which is consumed by Indonesian people. This study aims to examine the germination capacity of corn using the Rolled Paper Test in Plastic (UKDdP) method. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area in January 2023. The method of analysis in this study used a one-factor Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 levels, namely corn seeds of the Bonanza F1 variety and corn seeds of the Taste F1 variety. The materials and tools used in this study were corn seeds of the Bonanza F1 variety, corn seeds of the Taste F1 variety, substrate paper, water, plastic, rubber, trays, tweezers, bactericidal and fungicide, analytical scales, calipers, rulers, stationery, microscopes. digital, stationery, and cameras. The observed variables were the percentage of seed germination, plant height, root length, number of roots. The results showed that the percentage of seed germination for the Bonanza F1 variety and the Taste F1 variety reached 100% with the percentage of seeds germinating for the Bonanza F1 variety at 98% and the Taste F1 variety at 85%. Plant height and root length of maize variety Bonanza F1 and maize variety Taste F1 which were tested using the Rolled Paper Test established in Plastic (UKDdP) method had no significant effect. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of the development of leaf spot disease (Cercospora capsici) in red chili plants (Capsicum annuum L.) in highland and lowland areas during the rainy season. Leaf spot disease is a serious problem that hinders proper growth in chili plants. The research was conducted in December 2022 using a descriptive survey method, focusing on the issue of leaf spot disease in chili plants in farmers' fields. The results showed that the average percentage of symptomatic chili plants affected by leaf spot disease in the highland area was 50.89%, while in the lowland area, it was 29.77%. The average level of leaf spot disease incidence in the highland was 26.79%, whereas in the lowland, it was 24.61%. From these findings, it can be concluded that leaf spot disease (Cercospora capsici) has a higher incidence rate in red chili plants in the highland compared to the lowland during the rainy season. Knowledge of this difference can assist farmers in taking appropriate preventive or intervention measures to address disease outbreaks in red chili plants in both regions.

Abstract

Cabai merah memiliki peran penting dalam budaya kuliner dan industri pertanian di Indonesia. Namun, serangan patogen seperti penyakit busuk buah dapat menghambat produksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan pengambilan sampel secara purposive random sampling untuk mengkaji tingkat serangan penyakit busuk buah (Colletotrichum capsici) pada tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.) di dua lokasi yang berbeda, yaitu dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi tingkat serangan penyakit busuk buah pada sampel tanaman cabai merah di dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah. Rata-rata persentase serangan penyakit  didataran tinggi pada kelima sampel adalah 33.38%, dengan persentase serangan tertinggi pada Sampel 5 mencapai 58.63%. Sedangkan rata-rata persentase serangan penyakit didataran rendah mencapai 65.168%, dengan persentase serangan tertinggi pada Sampel 5 mencapai 80.99%. Hal ini mengindikasikan tingkat kerentanan yang lebih tinggi terhadap penyakit busuk buah pada sampel tersebut. Tingkat serangan yang tinggi berdampak negatif pada produksi cabai merah di dataran rendah, mengurangi kualitas dan kuantitas hasil panen. Kesimpulannya, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat serangan penyakit busuk buah pada tanaman cabai merah bervariasi antara dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya pengendalian, seperti pengelolaan sanitasi dan pemilihan varietas tahan penyakit, untuk meminimalkan serangan penyakit dan mendukung produksi cabai merah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan bagi pertumbuhan pepaya (Carica pepaya L.) di Kecamatan Batang Kuis, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan sejumlah parameter krusial yang memengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi pepaya, seperti karakteristik tanah, iklim, topografi, dan hidrologi. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi analisis deskriptif spasial dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang terkait dengan sifat fisik tanah, data iklim, peta topografi, dan data hidrologi. ata-data ini dianalisis dan diinterpretasikan guna melakukan klasifikasi terhadap tingkat kesesuaian lahan, dengan mengadopsi sistem klasifikasi yang telah disesuaikan dari beberapa sumber literatur terkait. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi tentang tingkat kesesuaian lahan untuk budidaya pepaya dalam kategori-kategori seperti sangat sesuai, sesuai dengan pembatasan, dan tidak sesuai. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sejumlah area di Kecamatan Batang Kuis memiliki tingkat kesesuaian yang baik. Secara spesifik, terdapat 6 satuan lahan (SL) dengan total luas 31,69 km2 yang masuk dalam kategori S1 (Sangat Sesuai), serta 2 satuan lahan dengan total luas 4,41 km2 yang masuk dalam kategori S2 (Cukup Sesuai) untuk budidaya pepaya. Perlu dicatat bahwa faktor pembatas utama adalah ketersediaan unsur hara (S2nar) sehingga manajemen hara tanah perlu diperhatikan secara lebih mendalam agar wilayah tersebut menjadi lebih sesuai bagi pertumbuhan pepaya.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa Ajamu mempunyai potensi panen yang besar pada areal pertanian kelapa sawit. Desa Ajamu juga mempunyai daya tarik wisata yang berpotensi menarik wisatawan untuk datang ke daerah tujuan wisata. Tujuan dari penyelenggaraan pemerintah daerah ini adalah untuk menguraikan ide-ide ekowisata yang akan diterapkan di Desa Perkebunan Ajamu dan membedah dampak ide-ide ekowisata terhadap ruang hierarki di Desa Perkebunan Ajamu untuk lebih mengembangkan wilayah setempat. Ekonomi, ekspansi, penggunaan lah sehingga meningkatkan softskill mitra untuk lebih mengembangkan wilayah setempat, ekonomi, ekspansi, penggunaan lahan pedesaan dan budaya di sekitar. Budaya saat ini di sekitar. Langkah pertama yang dilakukan dalam membangun desa wisata adalah dengan melakukan upaya dan diskusi dengan seluruh lapisan masyarakat. PKM ini telah berjalan efektif atau lancar dengan tingkat keberhasilan 90% dari kegiatan yang dilakukan.Abstract: Ajamu Village has large harvest potential in the oil palm farming area. Ajamu Village also has a tourist attraction that has the potential to attract tourists to come to the tourist destination area. The aim of this regional government implementation is to outline ecotourism ideas that will be implemented in Ajamu Plantation Village and dissect the impact of ecotourism ideas on the hierarchical space in Ajamu Plantation Village so as to improve partners' soft skills to further develop the local area, economy, expansion, land use surrounding countryside and culture. The first step taken in building a tourist village is to make efforts and discussions with all levels of society. This PKM has been running effectively or smoothly, with a success percentage of 90% of the activities carried out.
